We liked it last month, because we were able to change rooms when our air con wasn’t working.
On arrival the air con wasn’t working in our room again. We couldn’t move rooms because they were fully booked, our only option was another room where the air con was also not working. So we had to cancel and find another hotel, a disappointment as we were going to make this a regular stay. An email prior to arrival would have been appreciated.
The room was modern. Great bed. Great shower. Bathroom was new. It was quiet in my room at night. Staff very friendly.
Nothing.
Unbeatable location. For a very big and noisy pub, the accommodation area is surprisingly well sound-proofed. Great shower. And excellent, professional, calm help from Anu on Reception.
Everything else, but it was as expected, you get what you pay for. Basic room in a pub. A tradeoff for staying in an iconic location. I'll stay there again if I ever get back to Manly.
Great location beautiful building thoughtful inclusions shampoo tea coffee etc - thank you
A portable cooling system on the floor taking up a lot of space noisy and not being able to see out the window
Coffee was terrible.
Loved the room, Modern Bathroom, had an upgrade to sea view which was a nice surprise for my last night in Australia
Breakfast was included, but was limited to only one item off the menu,
Staff was polite, both reception and cleaners
There is a nightclub in the same building, and noise continues late into the night, making sleep impossible. The vibrations were so strong that the floor in our room literally shook. Completely unacceptable for a paid stay.
Location
Noise, dirty room, no AC. Leaking shower.
Location was great, quirky ++
Too much crammed into the room, felt cluttered
Fortunately just me staying, if two people it would have been more of an issue
Location, cleanliness, staff.
We liked everything
Unbeatable location, beach literally across the street and plenty of options for eating places. The staff was very accommodating (our room was initially quite dark with only a small window to the inside but they moved us to a better one the next day). I was afraid it could be noisy but it wasn't, however it may be during the height of the summer (due to the bar they have and busy main street). BTW, "Shelly Beach" (20 min walking distance) is a nicer option (smaller and more tranquil) than the main one.
Breakfast was OK-ish. I was expecting a kind of open buffet (and then be able to skip lunch) but it was a "regular" single dish choice. I think one may be better off not including it and get something on the main street instead.
Location is the best.
Rooms are without windows, so you can't get daylight. On top of that, AC was not working in the summer season, and they said that it would take a lot for them to fix it and gave us fan instead.
With fan and no windows/ventilation, the air was terrible!
Staff tried to act like they were surprised, but it didn't seem that way one bit. They are just rude.
No aircon and only given a small fan to compensate. “Big Breakfast” voucher was a small list of toasts/eggs and everything else was an add on $$$. Coffee wasn’t even included! Staff were all hungover or totally lacked any customer service skills. The drain in the bathroom was for aesthetic purposes only? After a short shower the bathroom was flooded, we had to mop the water up with the one bath mat provided. Tried to contact reception with no luck. Overall such a disaster of an experience. The room itself was fine for the price, and location is great. Will not be returning
Location
The noise. The accommodation is above the nightclub area of the hotel. The noise is bedlam until late. Also the air con was not functioning. The hotel did email me to inform me about the aircon and had put fans in the room.
We were lucky and got a room with a view of the sea at Manly. Perfect location for beach and headland walks, and to all the lovely restaurants and cafes nearby. The included breakfast was excellent and all the staff lovely and helpful.
Nothing, except finding the reception upstairs wasn't well signed, but I'm sure they'll see to that.
