Headland Gardens Holiday Apartments

Good morning
We checked out just before 10am and left the keys in the box.

I had also emailed directly through bookings.com but I’m not sure if you had received my email.

However, I would like to make a complaint about our room. The 3 bedroom that we rented out for the past few days was dirty and disgusting. There was hair and sand in our beds on the first night so I was up washing the sheets and drying them so we could sleep and this was New Year’s Eve. The carpet in the main bedroom was not vacuumed and the amount of dust that was coming out from near the bed was shocking. The dust was all over the windows and doors and I have asthmatic children where my youngest child couldn’t sleep in one of the rooms and suffered a asthma attack from the dust in that room and required Ventolin. I have taken photos of the property which I will attach to show you.

The kitchen light was not working and a note was left to say the stove top wasn’t working.

We were unable to use the main bathroom as there were bugs all over the floor and toilet and the ants were coming out of cracked titles and all in the shower. Please see video attached of the ants in the bathroom.

The main bathroom had major damage in the corners where the wall has been cracked. We were only given 2 rolls of toilet paper for a 3 bedroom apartment for 3 days. My husband had to go buy toilet rolls as we couldn’t find the manager or care taker of the property.

I had to go buy cleaning products to clean the bathrooms and floors of the property.

The doors and windows had dust piled up which seems like it hasn’t been cleaned for months.

We had saved for a long time to give our family a holiday on New Years and I had paid just over $2000 for this room and it was not worth it. The photos online did not justify what we walked into. It’s very run down and the owners should not be renting this room out until they do major pest control and removal of the mould and dust.

Was not clean, need a good pest control done. Very dated for the price you pay.

No blackout curtains, but we all had eye masks so no big issue there!

The wifi was not great which was a hassle as the TV required it to use :(

Spa not operational and pool water way too hot

The room wasn't very clean, ceiling fans really dirty, balcany area hadn't been swept for what looked like months. When checking in although said reception hours should have been opened. Rang number twice on the door with no response. After been travelling since 4.30am and arrive at accomodation and wait 20 minutes to be seen was very frustrating. I think some updated photos need to be put on your site clearly outdated.

The outside of building is a bit shabby. But it looks like they have a few renovations underway.

Property was rundown and in need of repair and a good clean . Disgusting build up of dust and grime on the fan blades. Window latches broken, sliding door didn’t open easily, kitchen table wobbly, dining chairs dirty, dryer was rusted inside, ensuite soap holder broken, bean bags had minimal beans , light bulb missing in lounge. Prison like bars in bathroom and toilet were ugly. We were really shocked at the rundown state. Feel the amount we paid was excessive for the poor quality

The property was really clean and had all we needed, yet a bit of dust from the clothes drier goes all over the apartment so a bit of extra cleaning over the surfaces and vacuuming behind the beds a bit more frequent would be beneficial. This is not a complaint as I was happy I could come home with my clothes clean!!
