This was the fourth time I have stayed at the Macendon Ranges Spa and Hotel. The first time was in 2009. I love the view from the room looking at the ranges, the size and design of the room, the size of the spa and the location. It is lovely to sit in the spa with a cup of tea in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening looking out over Mt Macendon.
The facilities have become very tired. Panels were either broken or not attached properly, all the furniture had become sun damaged and worn, the jets in the spa needed servicing as the air preassure was not constant, the bed and pillow was uncomfortable and lacked support. This was the first time I had stayed a the hotel and felt the room was dirty. The spa had residue in the bottom of it, stains on the sheets, the bathroom vanity had soap scum from the previous guest still all around it. We stayed two nights and it was obvious the room had not been cleaned or made up during the day. While the bed had been remade, the floor had not been vacummed or washed, nor had the vanity been wiped down. Dust a crumbs were in the corner of the room.
Everything!! The setting was very beautiful and the rooms were so comfy and lovely.
It was really great and I wouldn't change anything
A lovely country setting yet close enough to restaurants and town. Beautiful views. Lovely staff. Excellent experience.
No internet is annoying, but I was able to hotspot from my phone for Netflix, so it was okay.

Spacious place
No sink in kitchen. Bathroom floor was very slippery - wet or dry. No enough power points. Not good value for cost.
We loved the view and found the room to be very comfortable and clean. Peaceful and quiet.
Short drive to Woodend to eat at the local pub and stroll around the town.
The shower screen leaked and flooded the bathroom.
Bed was hard
Shower was dirty
No remote for heater to change temp
The view from the room was incredible, the staff lovely and the rooms a great size and exceptionally clean.
The room was a little dated and the air conditioner set at 24 degrees. I wanted to change it as I like the room on the colder side but was unable to locate the remote or figure how to do it manually.
Loved the location and the spa in the room
The cleanliness of tiled floors(grout) and that the restaurant and spa house / pool weren’t useable
Room smelt beautiful with music playing on entry. What a lovely welcoming touch. Secluded location close to freeway. Lots of great restaurants in the quaint town of Woodend. In room spa was a relaxing treat. Perfect place to wind down from the stresses of everyday life.
Having to organise own breakfast. Room service or buffet breakfast would have been better. Neighbouring rooms were a bit noisy second day.
We loved the space and the views and it was very clean and comfortable.
