L’hotel ha una architettura vecchio stile, ma proprio per questo affascinante, ottima posizione sulla bellissima spiaggia di mount Lavinia, camere grandissime con bella vista mare e piscina calma e molto grande: si nuota!! E la colazione molto varia, ricca e ben servita!

But quote old type and is not the same as in pictures

Cons:

It shows swimming pool but after booked they said cannot use the swimming pool
It shows reasonable price in booking.com But later not the same amount got to pay extra saying taxes

Cons:

We took three rooms and all of them were not very clean. Loads of mosquitoes under the beds. There were some patches on mattresses and some sheets.
Rooms were not comfortable at all
There were no access gate to the beach unless you go round from the front

A most enjoyable and relaxing hotel in a perfect location at Mount Lavinia Beach.
Pros:

The glory days of Berjaya Hotel Colombo are over. The lack of maintenance has made the hotel shabby and the staff a bit unpolished. Today the management are targeting the Indian and Sri Lankan middle class.
The hotel serve a nice Sri Lankan breakfast buffet accompanied by your choice of omelette and fresh fruit. Unfortunately there is one big drawback: They only serve hot water, Nescafé, tea bags and warm milk.

BUT don’t let the fact that the hotel could do with a little love discourage you. Under the surface you will find a most enjoyable and relaxing hotel in a perfect location at Mount Lavinia Beach. I stayed here for a for a 10-day convalescence during an antibiotic course and tests in Nawaloka hospital.

If you book from the hotel homepage you will get a single or double room on the top floor with a balcony facing the pool, the beach and the ocean. All this for under USD 50 (incl tax) per night including breakfast — a perfect option if you are travelling on a shoestring budget or looking for a long time stay in Colombo.

Berjaya is excellent value for money
Pros:

I stayed in this hotel 7 - 10 October 2025. The room I stayed is clean and comfortable. Hotel staff are courteous. Special mention must be made of Mr. Kapila di Livera who looked into every aspect of my stay including transport. HIs dedication and attention to detail are amazing.

Pros:

​The Berjaya Hotel Colombo offered me a truly truly memorabke experience. Thanks to its spectacular setting and wonderful staff. The location is a highlight, situated directly on the picturesque Mount Lavinia Beach, making it perfect for beautiful sunset views and relaxing walks.
​They have an exceptional hospitality becuade the staff members were consistently friendly. Dining at the hotel was also a pleasure, with a train view and good food. ❣️

A warm bath
Pros:

Staying at the Berjaya Hotel again…… even though there are a number of things that need some improvement I always feel so at ease when I’m there…… the staff is very friendly and welcoming and helpful and it really makes you feel at home!!!!
Will be coming back in November after I finished my voluntary work here in Ambalangoda!

Good and Very satisfied
Pros:

The first time I visited Colombo, Srilanka because there was a squash tournament and staying here was very satisfying. The service is friendly and good from the reception to the cleaning service.

The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a balcony facing the swimming pool and sea. Every day I can see the sunrise and sunset from the window 😍

The breakfast provided is also diverse with Sri Lankan specialties. Delicious. Some can enter the tongues of Indonesians. I like dhal wadi, prata, boiled manioc, fish curry and a kind of chili sauce made from coconut

The staff are all very nice, friendly and supportive.
Pros:

The breakfast was very good, there was a good variety of food.
The location is good.

Cons:

There should be a lot of improvement in the overall building, as it did not smell good, there was mould in the bathrooms, the curtains were dirty, overall there should be an improvement to the building and it should be sound proof as there was a lot of disturbance of guests walking in the corridors and talking loudly. etc.,
