Alpha Centauri Townhouses

I would like to firstly start by advising we did not attend this property. We have been stuck all snow season in Sydney due to the ever extending lockdown we are currently in. We booked this at the start of the year and we’re advised at the time of booking that it was non-refundable, we went ahead and booked as we thought 2021 would be a much better year than 2020, we never thought we would be in lockdown for 8 weeks with a further 5 weeks to go! I contacted this property to seek a refund or at least move our booking to sometime next snow season! I was advised they won’t be giving us a refund and can only accomodate moving our dates if we come within the next 4 months. Firstly, we won’t be able to come down any time soon as we are still in lockdown!! Secondly, we only come down to jindy for the snow season and that’s what we paid for, snow season accommodation rates! I am so disappointed and will never book this property again and make sure everyone I know doesnt fall into this properties trap.

We enjoyed our stay in two townhouses, it's more than we could ask for, reasonable price and very clean. Excellent communication and the owner and receptionist are very kind and friendly.

Kids enjoyed sleeping on the bunks. The town house has 3 bedrooms, 1 room has a double bed, another room has a double bed and bunk, and the 3rd room has a double bunk, single bunk and a double bed. It has two bathrooms and 2 toilets, washing machine and dryer, beautiful open dining, lounge and kitchen area along with a balcony and garage.

This town house was perfect for my family. Especially having children. Pom is a great guy, so layed back and saved me time walking up to the reception. He happened to drive by doing taking the trash and I handed my keys over to him, how great was that. Knowing that I have kids.

We will definitely stay here again, it's a few minutes away from town. Also, there's a back yard too. Perfect for children to play.

Great location. Very spacious so perfect for families with children. Parking was good and Pomm was wonderful to deal with. It's an older style accommodation that could use an upgrade but it was suitable for the 4 nights that we stayed.

Not a fancy place to stay but very practical and affordable , if you're after a place to sleep and relax after a long day hiking or skiing, you will enjoy this place, the communal room has a indoor pool, spa, bbq and a cosy fire place to enjoy.

We stayed 3 nights as a group of 5 adults and 5 kids (all under 7 ) as a base for skiing at Thredbo. The townhouses are in a great position for access to the centre of Jindy. Just beyond walking distance with young kids. We stayed in Unit 10. One bedroom and 2 bathrooms downstairs, one with laundry facilities. Upstairs - open plan dining/lounge area with kitchen (well equipped) and 2 further bedrooms.

Thredbo is 35 mins drive away - perisher 45 mins.

Cleanliness was terrible with cobwebs everywhere and hair behind doors. Bunk beds were unsafe and had to be separated for safety reasons. Kitchen had fire hazards and was ill equipped. No drying room.

The good:
- Scott was in most part easy to get hold of and quick to respond
- Cheap price
- Clean in most part
- Location is about 40 minutes drive to the trail head of main range walk at Kosciuszko
- Two bathrooms is great for bigger groups

The not so good:
- Cobwebs in several places which got into my face on some occasions
- Having to redo a payment because they lost my credit card details
- Property is ageing and you can see by the decor
- One of the screen doors lock was broken
- Toilet flush was not strong enough

Overall I highly recommend this place if you want something cheap and functional.

We stayed at the Alpha Centauri Townhouses in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Apt 7, while we did the summer walks around Kosciusko NP. I will admit the decore is a little dated but its clean, quiet and well appointed. Only a short drive to the shopping precinct. The beds were comfortable and everything worked in the kichen. We got a great off season deal.

On the day of arrival, i was called to be informed that we had been upgraded to 3 bedrooms from 2 bedrooms townhouse. Then upon arrival, the check-in was easy, the manager was friendly and efficient helping us with the snow chain and some other information. We also rented snow boots and toboggan which were heavily discounted; they were still in good shapes.
The townhouse itself was clean and quite spacious. There was a locked up garage and noticed that there was additional allocated parking lot outside. Kitchen was fully equipped, dining table was big enough for probably 6-8 and it had lounge room with 2 sofas and TV. There was washing machine and dryer as well.
Location was good, it was easy to find and it was just very short drive to city center.
Overall, we liked the stay there and won't hesitate to come back again.

Stayed with a group of 7 friends July 2013 - townhouse was spacious, clean, warm and close drive to Jindabyne to pick up supplies.
Kitchen that is well eqiuped meant we could eat in when we didn't want take out.
Two bathrooms - great for that early morning rush to hit the slopes.

All in all a great stay, will be back again! Thanks Pom!

Our 3 bedroom unit was very comfortable and well equipped (including a wood stove in unit 9). The manager was exceedingly friendly and helpful, and was very welcoming of us and our dogs (be aware that the property is not fully fenced, but there are plenty of grassy areas). Overall a very relaxing and pleasant experience. Thanks, Pom!

I am a regular at Alpha Centauri Townhouses. I love the location, short walk to the shops and a great walk around the foreshore of the Lake. Easy access to some shore based fishing spots and a close distance to the boat ramp.
The townhouse is always kept clean and tidy, the host is very friendly and helpful.
Everything you need is in the unit, and there is adequate parking for a boat and trailer.
The town house has everything you need including TV and DVD player and is well equipped with cutlery and crockery.

Stayed in 3 bedroom unit last winter and our group had a great visit so we will be back this year. Accommodation was good for families, as there is 2 bathrooms we all could get ready and out the door quickly in the mornings to make the most of the day. Large living area was a good gathering place to share stories from our day on the snow. Kitchen was good as we cooked all our meals in to save some money. Looking forward to our return. Easy ski hire on site which was convenient.

I and three friends spent a long weekend bike-riding in Jindy. The accommodation (Unit 9) had a great location, minutes walk to Jindi eateries & shops. The unit was tidy had plenty of space, a garage for the bikes and was perfect for our needs. The manager advised us on where we could hire (good)bikes and places to see. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will look to re-book for our next stay.

After arriving with friends we found the place to be shabby and run down. Only a slight step up the uncleanliest backpackers. There was a mis mash or furniture and kitchen ware. The sliding door was broke and did not work and the so called jacuzzi was also broken (or non existent). After getting ready to leave late Sunday afternoon, and being left the keys (as it was spring season with no visitors to follow us) the manager burst in yelling abuse because the shower had been run when we picking up our belongings. We were held persistant abuse even after several apologies were offered for the missunderstanding. But after the bellowing refused to stop, I said well thank you for your time, we will not be coming back!! We then received a last bellowing shriek "well [--] off then!!". Disgusting!!! We will never be going back and Recommend that others do not.

If i had to sum up alpha centuri in word word - terrible. I realise that accomodation in Jindy during peak snow season is always expensive, but for $440 per nite i still expect much more than what these run-down, dirty townhouses delivered. We stayed in unit 1 - it was pretty much filthy. The photos on the web depicted an old style townhome with antiquated furniture etc. which seemed fine by us at the time of booking - we didn't expect the four seasons. However, the photos are still very misleading - the place is a real dump! The hot tub does not work, the single car garage cannot fit a sedan (maybe a smart car or a coooper mini at best), and we ran out of hot water the first nite after 1 shower! This was most unpleasant following a full day of skiing - i had a cold shower and was less than impressed. To top it all off, when i called owner to tell him about the lack of hot water he gave me attitude like i was bothering him - what a jerk. In summary - dirty, old, dingy, expensive, horrible customer service. Please learn from this, don't stay here, spend a little more and get a nicer place. Alternatively, I honestly would have been more comfortable camping in my tent at the caravan park in jindy (we have done this before and i am serious).

Stayed for 2 nites for snow trip, manager was very helpful during the reservation process.
Cheapest ski/snowboard gear hire in town.
The house was tidy, i wont say it is a clean house. Spider web on the ceilings. kitchen appliances are old, kettle was dirty, tv was old, dvd player produce black n white.
Booking confirmed 3 bedroom house, 2 bedroom given on check in. 1 with double bed 1 with 2 bunkbeds.
Bed sheet was nice and clean but the pillow cases and quilt cover looked dirty. we had the bed sheet over the pillows and undo the quilt cover, fortunately the quilt looked clean.

Booked into Alpha Centuri apartments for a week in August....a great mistake. Despite phone and emails during the week of our arrival the manager neglected to inform us that the hot spa wasnt working.A great disappointment to us after we arrived, as this facility was the main reason we chose Alpha Centuri.
Apart from that, we found Unit 1 to have a miss mash of old furniture, dirty glasses, kettle, range hood and fridge, a full ashtray on the balcony next to the broken screen door laying there, also the garage needed a decent sweep....and the old commercial style drink refrigerator stored there took up so much room in the garage it was very difficult to get the car in.
To top off the appearence of the unit, it seemed all the spiders in Jindabyne had made their home in Unit 1, and had been there for quite some time.
Not at all as shown on the web site.The manager arrived late afternoon and after passing on our concerns and complaints to him in a nice manner, we were told " if you want to get [----] about it then go somewhere else and I will give you your money back", which at 4.30 pm on a Sunday afternoon seems a daunting task but with the help of Belinda at Jindabyne Real Estate we did just that ..... and ended up having a great week in some very nice accommodation.
