Second visit & a great, secure experience again.
Pros:

The assistance with check-in after my journey from the Fraser Coast in Qld. A huge thank you for ensuring my safety.
Otherwise, it's a lovely, interesting place.
I really like that it's an iconic operating Hotel with high quality accommodation.

To have meal, with a beer & then go to your room is a very safe feature.
The meals are very creative & tasty. The staff are really nice & helpful.

The Newcastle Trams stop is right out from of the Hotel & so my journey by tram, train to Sydney & then a plane to Hervey Bay is seamless. It's all under cover.

I'll look forward to my next visit.

Lovely spacious room, great shower.
Very comfortable beds. Food from the restaurant was delicious. All the staff were so nice and friendly and very willing to help in any way. Great location with the tram stop directly outside the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

The Lucky Hotel. Yep, worth the stay
Pros:

I was a little bit dubious initially booking a room in a pub having had a few nightmare scenarios over the years but I was lucky this time at The Lucky. Two nights midweek visiting to see the new art gallery. My room (101) on the 1st floor was quiet, cool and very comfortable. Overlooking the courtyard featured in their advertising but safely behind double glazed, sound proof windows. Nice bed, modern bathroom, big TV, Mini bar etc.
I slept very well after a dinner in that courtyard. I'll definately stay there again.
Hotel is close to the Light Rail (tram) stop.
A breakfast arrangement (with discount) is at Neighbours restaurant 5 minutes walk away. Great food and service there too.

Cons:

The 4 pillows were just a bit too firm for my liking
