We really loved this hotel for its comfort and decor. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and clean.
We requested a quite room and that was granted. Thank you. Lots of great cafes and restaurants and our very favourite was Momo.
The restaurant is excellent. Highly recommend.
The staff were very friendly, and its in a great location
There was a very foul smell coming from the bathroom drain, and it made the whole room smell. Bed wasnt comfortable either
Great central location. Comfy rooms.
No issues
Room was clean and tidy as was the Bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Good food from the Restaurant and the Drinks were cold. Staff could not have been more helpful in all aspects. Would definitely stay again. 10/10.
Nothing to report, everything was good 👍.
Really friendly staff,
Great location.
Quiet rooms which were very spacious- excellent value for money.
Room smelt like cigarette smoke on arrival - might have been from pub below or from a previous guest.
Gorgeous, great value, close to everything in. Newcastle, beach ,shops, restaurants. Rooms comfortable, great size. Staff fabulous. Highly recommended.
Nothing
So pretty I loved the layout and how easy everything was as a first time stay
There wasn’t anything great location only thing is I have been to hotels around and they have parking when I paying less for a room and I would be happy paying more for a room is parking is included, I had to pay $30 for parking which was a bit annoying wish there was a way that when you check in your parking is covered by the price of the room if that makes sense
This hotel is well located, close to the cinema, some great cafes and restaurants, and offers good food options itself in a friendly and relaxed environment. Step outside and there's tram stop, plus the harbour is only a short walk. The tram goes to the beach in one direction and the train station in the other. The Lucky is understandably a bit noisy on Friday and Saturday nights - this never really worries us though we fall into the category of "mature" travellers these days.
We've stayed a couple of times now, so we know what to expect. The fact that we keep coming back means we must be happy!
There is grace in a hotel that knows precisely what it is and does not strain to be more. The Lucky Hotel, tucked into the salt bright bones of Newcastle, understands this. My room was clean and unfussy, arranged with the quiet competence of a well run kitchen rather than a boutique showroom. The staff greeted me with an ease that felt neither rehearsed nor indifferent. The bed kept its promises. The shower pressure was honest.
Was it opulent? No, nor did it try to be, and therein lies its charm. For what I paid, I received comfort, cleanliness, and a location within easy reach of the harbour: a fair and honest transaction, rare enough to be worth remarking upon.
I would return without hesitation.
There is little to fault, and what follows are suggestions rather than grievances. A small welcome gift, a bottle of wine perhaps, would lend the arrival a touch of ceremony. A chair in the room would be a welcome addition, somewhere to sit that isn't the bed. And I noticed no sign of room service, though I confess I may simply have missed it.
It’s clean and the location is great.
The room we stayed in felt like there was not much air ventilation
Great staff
Good location nicely renovated pub with great rooms
