Pros:

Room was old but was warm and comfortable.
The best indian Resturant I have experienced in a very long time.
The food was delicious, generous and authentic. We chose to eat there 2 nights out of three.
The staff were extremely attentive.
Will stay again when we return.

Cons:

No lift. But we knew that before we booked and understand why. Its a very old hotel with loads of features from its original build.

I liked proximity to shops & basin
Staff lovely and helpful. The bed nice & clean and comfortable. Great sized room.

Cons:

The only thing I was unable to turn on the shower taps very hard, they were seemed to have seized up. So unable to shower. Only that was disappointing. Everything else we were very happy with. 😊

Pros:

Check-in was easy, and the guy behind the counter got it done fast. The entry is beautiful but has a weird smell. we booked 2 rooms and managed to book the room with the balcony. We expected the noise so that was ok. We were here for a 21st, and it's easy to go club hopping from this location with karaoke downstairs

Cons:

The bed was quite hard, and we were only given half a roll of toilet paper ! The camera across the road tends to point directly at the balcony when there are no cars coming. But I still really enjoyed my stay here

Never to be repeated
Cons:

Betty Windsor stayed there in the early 50s - and the hotel seems to have stopped thorough cleaning and maintenance as soon as she left. My room ( room 40) was dusty, the bedside lamp didn’t work, the fridge was noisy and the toilet cistern ran constantly. The location doesn’t have much charm either

Staff were excellent & very helpful.
Pros:

Staff at check in were excellent.
The bartender in particular went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed.
I was allowed to park my bike off the street.
An important thing to consider when staying in the CBD.
Room was small but adequate,
Included a bath which is always a bonus.

Cons:

Not enough clothes hangers. (2)
I have heavy riding gear I need to hang up.
Also my suit or my dinner jacket.
The closet is big enough but underutilized.

Someone's socks were left in the closet.

Good value, had the biggest room no 35
Pros:

Old style hotel, actually QE2 stayed in same room in 1953! Lovely old staircase, the Thai Indian rest was fine to eat at. Comfortable and clean, not much parking so reserve it. L

Cons:

Good for a night, short walk to town and cinema, saw a movie.

Pros:

The room was quite dated and small but was fine as we just needed it for sleeping. The location was brilliant, very close to the town center, places to eat and Pak n Save. Parking could be an issue. We found a couple of places we hope were free! Lol.

Old but cheap

The property is very old and in its day was probably a magnificent place to stay but today it is half closed run down and very very old.
