Overall good however over priced for the quality.
Pros:

Excellent location, staff interaction, clean and tidy.

Cons:

Unable to access the building after hours with the key provided. Very dated interior of the room and a fridge that didn’t work.

Pros:

The room was clean and tidy,had basics for cheap stay.
The restaurant downstairs is definately the best part of this stay,the service amazing and the food exceptional!

Cons:

No one mentions the keraoke at the bar downstairs until you have paid. Was loud but stopped at reasonable hour so got some entertainment.

Pros:

Staff were super helpful and friendly; architecture and staircase wonderful. Bathrooms were quaint but dated. Restaurant downstairs served excellent Indian food.

Cons:

Beds were too saggy; no chairs in rooms; tv reception poor. Would have paid more for better beds.

Sehr nettes Personal/Hotelbetreiber. Gute Lage.
Hotel mit historischer Vergangenheit.
Wer Karaoke mag ist in der angegliederten Bar gut aufgehoben 😀
Ausstattung alt (hat besonderen flair) aber alles da was man braucht.

Cons:

Parken nicht ganz so einfach. Es wurde aber netterweise eine Lösung für mich gefunden 😀

Pros:

We had the room with the massive balcony. The room was really nice, the balcony great to have a glass of wine and curry from the restaurant downstairs on. The room was comfortable and clean. We checked in via the pub, which looks a bit rough, but was totally fine! The staff were really nice and friendly. We parked outside on the road. It cost $3 for 3 hours (until 5.30pm), and it's free Sat and Sun.

Authentic kiwi pub style accommodation experience- sleep not guaranteed 😅

If you’re chasing authentic old-school Kiwi pub experience, this place certainly captures it. It feels like stepping back in time — for better or worse.”

Cons:

The only positive I can genuinely mention is that the place has a vintage, old-school NZ pub feel — and unfortunately, it seems the amenities haven’t been updated since that era either.

The shower had almost no water pressure and never properly warmed up, making it a pretty miserable experience. The room itself was uncomfortably hot and poorly ventilated. A fan was provided, but it felt more symbolic than effective.

I was only informed at check-in that there would be a karaoke night running until the early hours of the morning. This wasn’t communicated beforehand, and it absolutely should have been. The bass was so heavy the room was physically shaking, making sleep nearly impossible — not ideal after a long day of travel.

If you’re planning to stay here, be prepared for noise, heat, and very basic facilities.”

It was ok for the money, he woman who helped me with my bags was exceptional and I am very grateful.
Pros:

Lovely people.

Cons:

I didn't realise there was no carpark and that the rooms were upstairs with no elevator.
