Hôtel confortable en face de la gare

Hôtel en face de la gare. Chambre sobre mais confortable.

Definitely would not return or recommend it to anyone.
Pros:

It’s a reasonable price but I think I’d rather pay a little more for better facilities. It’s strange as 2 nights previously we’d stayed in a Brit hotel (comfort) in Caen (also comfort) and it was superb! The other plus was the breakfast, which while wasn’t memorable, it was surprisingly nice given our experience with other facilities.

Cons:

Arriving at the hotel (in poring rain) we couldn’t get in for several minutes as we had to wait for the manager to open the door. The room
Was clean if sparse and no tea / coffee making. Unfortunately the room was quite cold with no heating, there was a radiator but no heat from it. Even worse than that was there was no hot water for the shower the next morning & nobody at reception to report it to.

Pros:

L'accueil très aimable
La situation près de la gare

Cons:

La chaleur étouffante dans la chambre, pas de climatisation seulement un ventilateur au plafond qui ne fait pas beaucoup d'air et qui fait un bruit pas possible en vitesse maximale avec la peur qu'il se décroche tellement il vibre. Pour nous, ce fut nuit blanche, jamais eu aussi chaud dans une chambre d'hôtel et pas moyen d'ouvrir les fenêtres avec le bruit de l'avenue et de la gare.
La fuite d'eau dans la salle de bain et la cabine de douche exiguë avec des joints noircis.
La décoration mériterait d'être refaite car trop vieille (moquette marron foncée qui a vécu, l'abat-jour de la lampe jauni, le rideau de la fenêtre à moitié décroché....).

Juste qu'ils soit en face de la gare

Cons:

Chambre pas du tout conforme au photos du site j'ai eu l'impression d'être dans une chambre de bonne à l'ancien temps.

Le personnel moitié agréable et le petit déjeuner à 11€ reste limité.

A clean & basic hotel with easy access to trains & rental cars for trips into the countryside
Pros:

- Close Proximity to both Gare d'Angoulême (2 min. across plaza) and Hertz location de voiture (right next door) were super convenient for the starting and ending points of the journey into the Dordogne, Lot, Lot/Garonne and Averyon departments.
- The host and I communicated very easily and quickly via the booking.com messaging function such that my unusual arrival and departure schedules were easily accommodated. Étienne was always there whenever I showed up, stepped out, or departed.
- The compact room was very clean, the bed linens and towels freshly-washed and durable, the water was hot and the pressure in the shower was strong.
- I stayed at the hotel twice and both times Etienne had suggestions for the 10 minute walk up to the old city center where you'll find some very good and reasonably priced restaurants - consider the steak tartare at the Cabana next to the Hotel de Ville.
- Bear in mind the Brit Hotel Terminus is primarily oriented toward facilitating transfers to and from the many grand line trains that connect Angouleme with other major cities and CDG airport and its close proximity to the historical town center for those quick 1/2 day layovers. With this in mind your stay should be quite satisfactory. Both my stays exceeded my conservative expectations.

J'ai appelé l'hôtel pour savoir à quelle heure fermait la réception sachant que j'arrivais par le train de 22 h 26. On m'a répondu 21 h 00 sans autres explication. Un hôtel 3 étoiles en gare d'une gare TGV qui ferme à 21 h 00 ! Hallucinant !!! J'ai réservé ailleurs et j'ai perdu une nuit non remboursable.
En même temps, quand on voit la façade, on se dit qu'il est survie ou en sursis.

Pros:

Perfectly located to stay for an early train departure for CDG. 12 minute easy walk to Centre of Angoulême for large variety of restaurants. The area is not very desirable but it is opposite the train station $ that was the objective. Very clean room but unfortunately no fridge or tea/coffee facility in room.
