Restaurant-Service war inkompetent und Klima-Anlage im Zimmer funktionierte nicht.
Pros:

Das Haus ist wirklich sehr stilvoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet!
Es strahlt einen Hauch alt-ungarischer Gastlichkeit aus.
Man kann zu Fuss bequem ins Stadt-Zentrum gelangen.
Auch ist das Hotel - Dank seiner unmittelbaren Lage neben einer Tankstelle und einer der Haupteifalls-Strassen von Debrecen - für den motorisierten Reisenden gut und leicht erreichbar.

Cons:

1) Der Kellner beim Abendessen im Hotel-Restaurant verstand praktisch kein Englisch und war auch nach meiner ungarischen Übersetzung -mittels deepl.trad. -nicht im Stande mir kompetent zu antworten, ob ein Weisswein oder ein Rotwein zu meinem bestellten Fischgericht besser passe.
2) Ich hatte das Zimmer 17:
Bei 32 C° Aussentemperatur funktionierte die Klima-Anlage in meinem Zimmer nicht, sondern die Zimmertemperatur liess sich nur auf - sage und schreibe - ganze 27 C° herunterkühlen.
Da half auch um 21 Uhr das Vertrösten seitens des jungen Night-Auditors mit einem Glas Wein nichts. Dieser beteuerte nur, dass man im Hotel eine neue Klima-Anlage habe, und das Team bei derartigen Problemen halt immer nach der anscheinend kostengünstigsten Variante schaue... Auch ein anderes Zimmer - auf meinen Wunsch hin - konnte er mir nicht erfüllen, da das Haus in jener Nacht vom 29. auf den 30. Juli 2026 anscheinend voll ausgebucht gewesen sei...
Als ehemaliger langjähriger Mitarbeiter und Dozent in einer berühmten Schweizer Hotel Fachschule (César Ritz Colleges) ist meines Erachtens ein solches Verhalten im Hospitality Business einfach unhaltbar! Als ich bereits vor zwei Jahren im Hotel Malom in Debrecen gastierte, war der Service ausgezeichnet und hochprofessionnell und alles funktionierte, so wie dies auch sein sollte. Deshalb entschied ich mich ja auch, bei meiner diesjährigen Ungarn - Rumänien-Tour wieder im Hotel Malom zu übernachten.
Anscheinend aber hat das Management seither gewechselt...
Denn bei Aussen-Temperaturen von über 30 C°, einen Gast in einem Zimmer von 27C° Zimmertemperatur unterzubringen, da die Air-Condition nicht funktioniert, finde ich in der heutigen Zeit eine absolute Dreistigkeit bzw. Unverschämtheit!
Fazit: Für mich war dies sicherlich der letzte Aufenthalt im Hotel Malom in Debrecen.
Als Ihr treuer und langjähriger Kunde von booking.com kann ich nur eines sagen:
Unter dem jetzigen Hotel-Management und derart widrigen Umständen, bitte Finger weg!
