Staff great, free newspapers, chic decor, good bath products and sheets and mattresses, good sized closet/ room( for NYC). Good location in LES though LES is a bit grungy
Room too dark , hard to read at night even with all the lights on. Food at restaurant ( only had dinner) average but maybe I ordered wrong.
The front desk workers are friendly. The hotel is located in walking distance to many good restaurants and bars. The bed is comfortable.
This was my second time staying at the hotel. Unsure if I would stay again. One of the two elevators being broken during my stay caused a major inconvenience. It was a 20 minute wait to get on an off the elevator as it had to stop at every floor, sometimes being so packed that you couldn't get on. This caused a lot of stress since I was there for work and had to be on time for appointments. The wifi was terrible. Again, I needed proper wifi connection to work and the slow wifi made it very difficult and frustrating. The hotel restaurant Dirty French doesn't read directions because my order was delivered incorrect multiple times. The hotel staff entered my room while I was in it multiple times. Unacceptable.
Atmosphere
The elevator broken
it's beautiful and cool
the infrastructure is awefull - one of the elevators didn't work for all 6 days and it took us 10 min each time to reach the room
Also, the staff was rude many times
The room mini bar options are great.
The room service which I have not tried also 24/7 which is great.
Location is close to Soho/Nolita and iconic NY restaurants
I loved the shower.
My room was very small. No space to open the suitcase.
Some parts in the hotel felt outdated and I remembered the hotel and restaurant were very lively many years ago.
Over $500 per night and you provide a paper cups for the Nespresso machine? It feels like best western hotel and not a boutique hotel.
In my opinion - no value for money. Sorry.
Reception area, friendly staff, great location
Room size quite small, even for New York
The location and views
The staff at The Ludlow were always friendly and polite, which we really appreciated.
Unfortunately, our stay ended on a disappointing note. After enquiring about extending one of our two rooms, I confirmed which room we wanted to keep and mistakenly assumed everything had been arranged. While I accept that I should have checked for a confirmation, no one at reception mentioned that the extension had not been processed, despite several opportunities during our stay.
On our last morning, we discovered we no longer had a room. The one we had originally requested was no longer available, so we had to accept a lower-category room at the last minute, causing us to miss a tour on our final day in New York.
Having stayed in many hotels around the world, I expected a little more care in resolving the situation. While the hotel offered to compensate us on a future stay, I believe the best time to make things right was in the moment. Many international travellers may not return for years, if ever.
Sadly, despite the lovely staff, this experience means we are unlikely to stay at The Ludlow again.
It’s a classic New York spot, I saw celebs in the lobby and the staff were super sweet and helpful.
No WiFi in the room. No coffee or espresso in the room.
Fantastic location, nice bar, lovely terrace and friendly staff
Nitpicking here but the toiletries were a bit feminine (Moroccan rose) for male guests :0)
