Shenbaga Hotel and Convention Centre

It was one of the worst experience in this hotel, I forgot my two expensive stuff in the hotel and when I tried calling the staff that too n number of times they gave me the less value from two products… be careful guys with your stuff specially in SHENbAGA HOtel PONDICHERY

But the pool was not operational as we were travelling with kids so had booked this hotel primary for leisure

had a good check-in experience, which was smooth and hassle-free. To my surprise, there was no buffet for lunch/dinner, but the hotel itself looks well-maintained despite being an older property.

The room service was prompt, though the food was a bit oily (but manageable). The AC worked well, ensuring a comfortable stay. However, the cot needs attention, as it made noise while sleeping.

The breakfast buffet was great, offering a good variety. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with minor areas for improvement, especially the bedding quality. Would consider staying again.

L'hôtel est juste beau à voir sur les photos car en réalité, il manque de propreté et surtout les photos sont très bien retouchées, attention.
Le personnel n'est pas respectueux envers la clientèle, ils peuvent vous faire attendre 30min pour avoir une fourchette ou un verre de jus.
Dans les chambres, la propreté est à désirer et le personnel est très lent lorsque vous les sollicitez.
le comble : la piscine est dangereuse, surtout si vous avez des enfants. le carrelage de la piscine est cassé et peut blesser gravement vos enfants, ce qui a été le cas pour ma fille qui s'est ouvert le pied à en beaucoup saigner. Aucun dédommagement ni aucune action de la part du management resté béat face à cette situation, ils n'avaient même pas de trousse de secours et le comble, ils vous demandent si vous n'avez rien apporté avec vous pendant votre voyage !
Le tarif ne vaut pas le service rendu, si tant est qu'il vous soit rendu un quelconque service. La qualité n'y est pas.

Very pleasant hotel in good location. Good room and Bathroom with views.
Reception area quite grand with glass fronted lifts.
Nice food with good choice for Dinner and Breakfast.

Stinking damp room, with a very thin and very hard mattress, bathroom with black mould everywhere, toilet leaking all over the floor with every flush, absolutely gross! Definitely nowhere near 4 star as advertised, there must st he many better places to stay

A comfortable stay with good size rooms and bathroom. The inside of the hotel is open to all the floors. The rooftop pool and lounge area is large with lounge chairs that can be moved around. I took a swim in the large pool.

The breakfast has a wide choice with dosa and omelette available.

The hotel is only a 30 minute walk or a short tuk tuk ride away from the French Quarter.

Excellent stay experience, clean rooms, lovely swimming pool and well behaved staff. Awesome breakfast spread. Also the meal was very good . with ala carte veg and non vegetarian authentic food. Our two days was memorable. Will suggest best hotel for family stay.

The hotel was big with all amenities of a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was good. Room and bathroom were clean but need a revamp. The hotel is 10 to 15 minutes walk to The Promenade.

Bestest best hotel . One of the best in town . Not too many option . Outstanding food quality. Gift shops downstairs are really royal and quality product . Reasonable rates he provide various option for Kashmiri product. Both the owners are descent and customer friendly .Very sophisticated service . Laundry I got it within a day .

Not too many choices of large hotels but this was distinctly average, photos are better than the reality we experienced. Breakfast selection was very limited. Rooms OK. Do yourself a favour and find a smaller, boutique hotel to stay in the French Quarter in Pondicherry as Shenbaga was on a busy road with no atmosphere.

Short stay, however very professional staff. Lovely rooms. Excellent dining. Special mention to Ezhilarasan in the dining area. Fantastic atmosphere created, very informative and made our stay very memorable. I would definitely stay there again

This hotel was well positioned to explore Pondicherry. It has a bar, gym and infinity pool on the roof.

Rooms are of a good size and have great rainfall shower with plenty of hot water and strong complimentary Wi-Fi. The bed had a mattress which was thin and very firm. The air conditioning was on the cool side of things. Everything was clean and well maintained.

The Poppy Restaurant served a good a la carte menu at reasonable prices for dinner and a good choice of items as part of their buffet breakfast. The staff were helpful and welcoming. I would stay at this hotel again.

The staff’s behavior was extremely disappointing, especially the receptionist. They seem to focus mainly on foreign customers. A child accidentally made a small sketch pen mark on their blanket, and they rudely charged us ₹1500 for it. The receptionist was extremely rude and lacked basic manners. We are paying for our stay, not staying for free, yet they behaved as if we were freeloading. We booked this hotel through Travel Triangle, but we will not recommend it to anyone. The way the receptionist spoke was completely inappropriate. If Shenbaga Hotel prefers only foreign customers, they should make that clear rather than misbehaving with their own country’s customers. This is not about the money I paid; it is about the way he talked. It was a very bad experience with the receptionist. At this way, I MUST SAY Shenbaga Hotel will lose its dignity and reputation.

This hotel is completely not worth the price that I paid. They claim themselves as a high end Hotel. However, their services leave a lot to be desired. Their cleanliness needs improvement. They have given us torn doubles and torn bedspreads. The beds and pillows are extremely hard so if you are kind of a person who enjoys sleeping on a hard bed, this is for you else, you are going to wake up with all kinds of body aches. The breakfast spread is good, the taste is the housekeeping staff is 70% responsive. They hear things partially and therefore they give you a service that is partial. When we shared the trip with the front office manager, He was not interested in our feedback at all. For the sake of semantics, they have placed a feedback tab on the reception, but they don’t really accept feedback or take criticism. All in all experience at this hotel when I expected a lot more. I will not recommend this to anybody whether it is group or solo or friends.

The rooms could have better interiors for the price tag of the hotel. Restroom was so slippery. Overall it was an average stay. But the breakfast was exceptional which is why i gave 3 star for my review. Happy to pay the price but looks like the hotel haven't upgraded their interiors in years.

Worst Service. Bags were sent to incorrect room. WiFi password was not working. Called front office twice to be fixed. Additional bed that was already in the prebooking was not prepared although we did night check in. Was told will be brought in 10 mins but we had to call reception 3 times and was only brought to the room after almost 2hrs

I stay at Shenbaga every time I visit Pondicherry. It is comfortable, safe and clean. Breakfast buffet is excellent! The a/c is great especially on those hot and humid days and nights

We booked a room in this hotel online. It is a decent hotel located in the heart of Puducherry. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had dinner and breakfast. The food was satisfactory and value for money.
However, the lighting in the lobby and, even in the rooms, can be a little brighter. Also, the general maintenance of the property can be better.
Overall, a good experience.

Situated right at the heart of Pondy this hotel has great entrance and well crafted interiors designed to match the exterior elevation. The ambiance of rooms is good with spacious rooms and good comfort. Breakfast option is great with some good continental varieties. Staff appear to be decent and manage ok in English .
