Breakfast buffet not great.
Location was excellent. Most staff were friendly. The breakfast was very good.I
Initial greeting was with the bill to be paid including the parking. The room, which was just around the corner from the reception, smelt musty and the only lights were the bedside lights and bathroom. The room was not very well presented ie Dirty kettle, toilet roll holder and dust everywhere.
The worst problem was the ill fitting bathroom door which remained ajar and could only be closed by locking it from the inside and as the extractor fan was not in working order, the use of the toilet could be smelt throughout the room.
The following morning having had a good breakfast, I reported the problems and was offered a replacement which was not suitable for our needs.
I was informed that the problems re the bathroom were on the " to do list ". The hotel appeared to require a complete update. I was not impressed to say the least. They had been made aware that it was my wife's birthday weekend when I made the booking. We decided to call it a day and cancelled the rest of our stay and headed home.
Close to all shops n bars
The room was clean but needs a revamp very dated. The bathroom we had to duck down cos it was a slope ceiling.
La habitación (acogedora, amplia), el Restaurante (excepcional) y su personal atención y amable.
Los colchones (deben cambiarlos) y almohadas.
The food was lovely.
The staff were very quiet and I felt unhelpful. When I arrived at the car park, got out my car to figure out how to open the closed gate, I had to ask the staff, who were on a cigarette break how to get out the car park.
Perhaps the staff smoking area can be moved away from the sight of guests.
Great location, very clean, great staff.been here quite a few times, love it.

Spacious, clean and well equipped. Had a washing machine.
No power point in the bathroom. The 100 pound pending authorisation on my credit card is still active 11 days after I checked out.
Location is excellent, just 2 minutes walk to the bridge into the city. Car parking underneath the hotel is great, secure and very handy. Paid about £20 from 12-12pm, and if spaces were available after 12pm on day of departure we could keep our car there a bit longer until we left York (without extra cost). Advise prebooking car parking space as it was very full in the evening. Breakfast was a buffet and very nice. Staff were pleasant. Beds comfy. Paid extra for a river view which was nice and it wasn't too loud in evening despite between a Saturday night and having window open all night.
The room was a little disappointing compared to the photos (which look a lot nicer!). The hotel and room is clearly quite old, the carpets and bathroom look old and not the cleanest. We paid quite a high price for the room for a special occasion thinking it would be more luxurious, but we could have got a similar room elsewhere for half the price. So not good value for money unfortunately.
River view room was wonderful
Location
Noisy street, early hours, evening meal poor quality
All okay, lovely staff, excellent choices at breakfast, fantastic location
Childrens beds very uncomfortable, mattresses in need of replacing
Good breakfast, close to centre of town. Staff very helpful.
The room
Curtains very thin. Room heated up in the sun. Our room had a lethal sash window with easy catches which could be released to allow anyone to fall out of the bedroom.
The bedside light was leaking sand or ballast onto the bedside cabinet (should be replaced).
