Brilliant location and very friendly staff
Peeling paint in the bathroom didnt look great
Petit déjeuner sympa
Chambre très froide et sdb aussi qui n’avait pas de chauffage !
Very upbeat and friendly staff. The food at lunchtime was good and the service was great.
It was a long way down many corridors and turns to the room
Very clean and excellent food
Nothing
We are return guests, we always stay when attending a function at the hotel, lovely rooms and bar area, restaurant excellent and a good breakfast too!
Bar was nice but was in a separate building
Reception and room was in a different building from restaurant and bar.
Had to go outside to get to restaurant
Very stylish , quite , professional
Nothing
The decor was wonderful, the staff were friendly and very helpful which was good as a service charge was added to everything, even a drink from the bar.
The prices of drinks and food were on the expensive side, we were also told that our only option for food on Sunday was a special Mother’s Day lunch at a cost of almost £60 each. No advance warning was given and no bar food was available.
On two nights we were told there was a ‘signature’ chef evening which again meant we couldn’t sit in the bar for drinks or have bar food, all tables were reserved. No advance warning. As we had arranged to meet friends who were also resident at the hotel it was very inconvenient and meant an expensive couple of uber rides into town which we did not anticipate.
The hotel is not suitable for guests with mobility problems. Steps everywhere, the lift didn’t go to reception, accessible rooms, the restaurant or the bar. It was steps to the front door and a walk outside. To get to the accessible room you had to navigate a slope down a fairly steep drive.
As I mentioned the staff were friendly and helpful but that is not much use when the amenities that you relied on are out of use due to functions. I expect functions to be in function rooms, not the residents bar.
There was confusion over the final bill, we were given a bar bill that was not ours, no signature had been obtained and it was lucky we spotted it.
Our room was okay, but we paid the same as our friends who had a much bigger more luxurious room.
Breakfast was good. The chef was happy to cook eggs to order and again staff were friendly and helpful.
On the whole it was okay, but because of the problems I mentioned we will most likely find somewhere else next year.
The breakfast was excellent. Well presented and the chef very obliging
Nothing
Gorgeous room. We booked a club room - great sized room with a great view. We had dinner in the hotel - great value.
It is clean, nice bar for chill times.
The breakfast service was not good, except for one attentive gentleman. The two girls seemed as if being there was more of an obligation than a job they cared about.
On the first day, one of the reception staff members smelled very bad, which was quite unpleasant. They also mishandled a gift that a friend had left for me at the reception.
The champagne was delivered the day after my arrival instead of upon arrival. Additionally, the room service attendant entered my room without knocking, which I found very intrusive. On top of that, they didn’t even know where the champagne came from or who it was for.
The radiator on the room makes a lot noise, turn off at night but rooms get cold very fast.
Overall, it was a catastrophe.
The bar area was good nothing to much from there.
