Sorry but not possible
Pros:

Yes, it looks fab and romantic — I’ll give them that. But the experience? Oh boy.
Our room (the largest and most expensive one, mind you) smelled like garlic drifting up from the restaurant downstairs. Nothing says “luxury escape” like eau de kitchen exhaust.
And the room itself? Completely bare. No room slippers, no hotel guide, no envelopes, no pen, no paper. No mini-fridge, just a lonely little water bottle. Coffee machine but no milk. No drinks. No laundry bags, no trash bags. Basically a beautiful shell with… nothing inside.
The vibe of the place is very much: “We are sorry… but no.”
Late check-out? No.
Even 30 extra minutes? Sure — if you pay.
Pretty place, but the hospitality feels like it’s running on an extreme minimalist experiment. Romantic looks can’t cover up a hotel that seems allergic to actually providing things.

Un séjour très agréable dans un hôtel excellent
Pros:

Le Champlain est un établissement à la hauteur de ses 4 étoiles. Le bâtiment est historique. Le personnel est très attentif. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et complet. L'endroit est calme, proche du parc et des arcades commerçantes.

Cons:

Beaucoup de difficultés pour se garer à proximité, avec des agents ASVP qui n'ont qu'une seule obsession: vous verbaliser. La mairie a retiré son accord avec les hôteliers pour proposer des cartes de stationnement gratuites, alors que le parking Verdun est à côté. Les touristes paient des taxes de séjour, la TVA dans les commerces et les restaurants, et en plus ils doivent payer tous les jours pendant le séjour pour se garer, après avoir cherché une place pendant un bon moment! Rochelais, ne vous trompez pas aux prochaines élections municipales!

Very nice.
Pros:

Room spacious, Location perfect for park as we had pets, parking very close by. Buffet breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

The evening bar snack of tapas was not very good.

Une adresse à retenir : emplacement, personnel, petit déjeuner, prix...
Pros:

La chambre était une suite, une grande pièce avec, à-côté une plus petite mais un grand lit pour ma fille adulte, dans un décor très XIXe siècle. Le personnel était particulièrement attentionné et charmant, quant au petit déjeuner il s'est avéré copieux et très agréable.
