Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge

Great location and very dog friendly. Clean room with a great breakfast to start the day. Friendly staff. Met all my expectations. Highly recommend if staying in the area.

We were very pleased with our stay. The bed was comfortable, the goose neck shower head was a blessing for my 6’ 3” husband, it was wonderful to have a little kitchenette, and the view was simply breathtaking.

Great place to stay

The room was too warm and there is no device to adjust the temperature. There is a door that opens to the courtyard but ours in room 407 would not open and had a broken deadbolt. We got the windows to open which helped cool the room to tolerable.
The hallway reeked of Marijuana when we got back from dinner. There was a thundering of feet and noise from a party we guess that went deep into the night. On the other hand the front desk folks were helpful and friendly enough. The room itself was acceptably clean as far as we could determine. We really like the proximity to the Dillon Reservoir shoreline marina. We could see the lake from our window and the courtyard was pleasant with a central sunflower patch. Not sure we will stay here again.

I have stayed at this location before, and I love it! It is in a terrific location, with a beautiful court yard, and well kept rooms. I hope that it will stay around for many years, and I will be back!!!

We picked this area because of proximity to Dillon reservoir, activities and Breckenridge. This place is charming, well kept, and the staff is amazing. This was a one night stay in October.

Nice place

The hot tub was perfect, really warm but not too hot.
Remind guests if they want to use the sauna, to turn it on when they first go in, so it can warm up while they are in the hot tub.

Area is very eco-friendly for dogs with lots of walking areas.

Clean room

Beautiful location with view of the lake. Grounds were extremely well kept. The whole property was very pet friendly. The room was lovely and clean. Our trip was in fall so the fact that there is no air conditioning was not a problem. We loved it and the value was great excellent. We will be back!

Heat didn’t work and our room was like 55 degrees but other than that a great place for the money for sure!

Very well maintained. Breakfast was good. Price was right.

The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable. The room was quiet, and the staff friendly! My one wish was that the thermostat could be set to a particular temperature. We used the space heater to warm it up b/c the temp was stuck at 67 and the thermostat didn't work. I was overall comfortable though, and felt like it was a safe and affordable place to stay. We'll be back! Oh, we also stayed in the pet free building which was nice.

My husband and I stayed while travelling around Colorado. We had a cute room with a kitchenette which was fully equipped to make our own meals. We had a beautiful lake view and the grounds were very nicely kept with flowers everywhere and benches to sit and relax. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of options for everyone. There is no air conditioning but our stay at the end of September was comfortable by just leaving a window open at night.

Pros: Spacious room and bath, clean, comfortable bed, no noise, good location, good breakfast offerings, plenty of parking space.
Con: Obsolete door entry system. Key cards continually failed. Separate buildings make it very inconvenient to lug baggage with you up and down stairs in order to go to the office for replacement card. Blamed the problem on card contact with other electronics. That didn't hold water since my travel partner had his card in a separate place from his cell phone, while mine was not in contact, only in proximity. Other guests were locked out of the building's outer door (I know this from sitting at the entry waiting to get in). In all, my card had to be re-set 3 times for a 2-nite stay. Time for BW to upgrade to a better door entry system.
P.S. Other lodgings we stayed at had card systems, but I never lost access to my room.

Restaurant close by , lake it easy walk.

Check in was unnecessarily complicated because desk agent was flummoxed by my ID first name not matching my namer on my email address.
Beds were advertised as queen but they were double. Probably because of the age of the building not allowing enough space for big beds. Room was quite ramped.
