staff attitude left a bad taste in my mouth

Room was all right

Cons:

I carelessly left belongings locked in the hotel room safe, and when i realized my mistake and contacted the hotel, my belongings were nowhere to be found. This situation caused a lot of problems for me. Someone over there is not to be trusted and hotel did not take ownership of this and suggested i had "lost" my belongings somewhere else.

Fun hotel that is still quiet enough to feel like a boutique experience.
Pros:

Great area of Barcelona, and still central enough to get to the main tourist areas. I liked that Axel Two is quieter than the other Axel hotel so this one felt a bit more boutique. Nicely designed rooms and well stocked mini bar. The weather was raining so I didn't have a chance to go to the pool, which was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel. Next time. I will stay here again.

Cons:

I greeted the receptionist in Spanish at check-in. I speak Spanish well. He saw my passport and responded in English. If a guest is making the effort to speak the local language, stick to the local language unless they ask to speak English. This happens a lot in very touristy places across Europe.
