If you are looking for beautiful people who are there to assist you in EVERY way .. this is the place to be. It is so close to the Stupa in Bouda and the Sechen Monastery. And several places to eat nearby and of course great shopping around the Stupa and in the little shops on the side roads.
It was difficult to navigate to the hotel in a car although it’s walkable distance to the Stupa ( not car access ) . No proper signage to the hotel and they have not even provided the correct hotel phone number.
No housekeeping was done during our stay and the hotel is not a value for money.
Härligt hotell, lugnt läge i ett annars hektiskt Kathmandu. Kan varmt rekommendera detta boendet.
All staff members are very nice and helpful and hotel room and bathroom are very clean
When called taxi they couldn’t find the hotel. And overall I do not recommend this hotel.
Nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and great services. Every time i go i always stay at Harmika Hotel.
Good
Very good choice , very convenient, clean and comfort
I have made a mistake that I made 3 times of booking for this hotel. However, I escalated to hotel. Com and also spoke to hotel front desk manager for this. They have confirmed the booking I made all through Expedia even I booked through hotel. Com( mess!) so they refused to help me cancel the duplicate booking and they keep insist charge me even I escalated during check in. I want to voice out here if hotel harmika you cherish your customer, you should help me to cancel all duplicate booking instead just want to go ahead charged me .i spoke to Expedia and called the customer service but nobody help me. Ended up harmika hotel said they will charge me even they know all the 3 bookings are actually duplicated. How are we going to trust this hotel service in future? I coming to Nepal often, and I always looking for hotel room stay, this is the first con job I ever had
We had high hopes for staying in Hotel Harmika for a few days. We wanted to do something different than staying in Thamel, for a new experience. This place has a lot of potential but, from what I understand, it is fairly new and still has some teething issues with managment and front desk personnel. There was no Wi-Fi upon arrival and front desk claimed our room was not ready, even though we arrived after the 2pm check-in time. They could not find our reservation because they had no Wi-Fi. Management did not understand that I had a SIM card in my phone, I did not need wi-fi to show them the room I had reserved using Hotels.com. We were placed in a lesser room than what we paid for. We had 3 more nights paid for and we decided to leave after day one and move elsewhere. The room we stayed in was okay, but not what we reserved. We felt completely disrespected and were approached during our ala cart breakfast the following morning to discuss the mishap. This could have been worked out after we finished our breakfast. We’re certain our unfortunate situation does not happen to other people due to great reviews of the property.
Needed a one night stay in KTM after a trek, and decided to go for (relative) luxury. Hotel Harmika is beautiful, clean, comfortable, looks brand new, and had great amenities (by Nepal's standards). I didn't have time to take in the full benefit of everything that was offered, but once we were checked in it was a great experience.
The staff were friendly and helpful, but there were some significant hitches. The first, and worst, was just finding the place. Although the map location (on both Google and Here) was accurate, the roads to get there were a mess - our taxi driver was confronted by a closed gate going one way, and a road very nearly too narrow for even a small car to get down the other way... followed by yet another closed gate (and a bunch of barking dogs). We called the hotel and they sent somebody to open the gate and let us in, which was great, but the experience was still not a good start to the night. Then, after we're finally inside, the hotel seemed to have some trouble with our booking; they found my name but thought it was for one person (it was for two, not that it should have mattered as we were sharing a room), and spent some time checking back and forth between various pieces of paperwork while I stood at the desk and wondered what I was supposed to do. Eventually they got everything handled, though, and from there on out it was good!
The location is an easy walk to Boudhanath Stupa. Just be careful on the way back; it's easy to get lost.
The hotel is adjacent to the Shechen Monastery (made famous by French monk Matthieu Ricard) and a short walk away from the great boudhanath stupa. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. It is about 1/3 of the Hyatt and will appeal to westerners. The only low is the breakfast, expensive (11$) and not very exciting. Fortunately, one can walk to the Shechen Monastery Guest House and have a better breakfast and even other meals there. The hotel offers free WiFi, a nice feature even if connecting is somewhat tricky as they are installing new servers. Construction appears solid, floors are marble or stone, everything is clean. Rooms are confortable, bed (mattress) and pilows are comfortable. The shower has nice, hot water stream, which is appreciated after a day in the city where there is lots of dust and pollution. Overall this is a great place to stay, in one of the best areas of the city.
This the best located hotel for visiting and exploring Boudhanath. It allows you to go to the Stupa on foot whenever you want to . Visitors only have to buy one entrance ticket for their stay, But what sets this hotel apart is the peacefulness of its surroundings, the comfort, the service, and the friendly efficiency of the staff who are always available to answer questions or arrange transport.
The rooms are large, well equipped and very clean, as are the bathrooms. There is constant hot water, and daily housekeeping to change towels, replace drinking water and tea etc. The hotel also offers an excellent laundry service which can be very useful if you have been doing any extensive travelling.
The garden is a lovely place to eat breakfast while listening to the monastery bells from Shechen Monastery next door.
Wonderful place to stay. Everything was so beautiful. All of the staff were very helpful.
Beyond accommodating, gave an upgrade and the food was amazing! Rooms are gorgeous and so comfortable!
Tucked away quietly behind Sechen monastery, a short walk from Boudha Stupa, Harmika offers a comfortable refuge from the noise and pollution of Katmandu. The hotel is super clean and suitably comfortable for an affordable price.
Realy nice hotel near the stupa. The relation price/quality is very good comparing to other offers in Boudha. It takes less than 5 minutes walking to get to the stupa. If you are going by taxi, the best indication you can give is telling the driver to go next to Sechen Monastery Clinic: the hotel is less than half a block from there.
I checked in and checked out. Room was hot breakfast was inedible.
The hotel is in excellent condition. Rooms are very comfortable. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful.
The only cons are the wifi connection was very off and on, making it very challenging to work in the hotel. Also, the food was ok, not great. There are however very good eating options nearby.
Other than those two points, it is great in every other way.
