Birding Paradise
Pros:

Cerro Lodge is perfect for people interested in birding and photographing birds. The natural environment there is exceptional for locating bird species and the view from the restaurant porch is wonderful. Some of the birds that we encountered including scarlet macaws, blue and gray tanagers, rufous-naped wrens, and baltimore orioles. Cerro Lodge is also close to Carara NP, another fabulous location for birdlife. Every cabin has a wonderful view out over the valley and forest making it ideal for sitting outside with your partner.

Cons:

It would have been nice to have a listing of activities that I could have booked at the hotel. We explored the place on our own and discovered many bird species. They do cater to larger bird watching groups and maybe it was my own fault that I didn't notice what was happening.

Hôtel sympathique, pizza magnifiques mais manque de professionnalisme touristique
Pros:

Le personnel est accueillant, et souriant. Les pizza du restaurant sont magnifiques

Cons:

Le personnel manque de réponse compétente sur les propositions touristiques à proximité. Le pont de Tarcoles étant en travaux le tour "crocodile" habituel n'était pas possible. Une alternative possible et disponible à proximité immédiate de l'hôtel ne nous a pas été signalée. Nous l'avons appris trop tard par des clients de l'hôtel qui l'ont découvert par hasard. Le personnel était au courant et nous a expliqué que ce n'était pas leur partenaire... Je pense qu'étant donné les conditions particulières l'hôtel aurait pu faire exception et renseigner ces propositions. De même, pour un hôtel se revendiquant un must du point dd vue ornithologique, il n'a pas pu nous faire de proposition de guide compétant

Fantastic food and lovely scarlet macaws
Pros:

The breakfast was ok, but nothing special. However, the food for lunch and dinner was outstanding. Pizza was phenomenal and so was the ham & cheese sandwich. It was great to sit in the outdoor restaurant watching birds and monkeys. Compared to 11 years ago, the quality of the food has increased significantly. They do have a pair of scarlet macaws visiting every morning at around 7, and this is a great asset. At the same time, they have 2-3 visiting monkeys. They are also an attractive asset.

Cons:

Cerro lodge has got new owners and the trend is to emphase the swimming pool more than the birdwatching. This means that you attract families with children more than photographers. It used to be the other way around. The monkeys are somewhat problematic since they tend to eat all the fruit and bananas and chase off other birds. Final remark: The coctails do not really taste of licor and are somewhat disappointing.

Nice hotel nice grounds lots of birds, but the bridge is the problem.
Cons:

The big problem with this hotel is that it’s on the wrong side of the alligator bridge, which is under construction. This means it can take up to two hours to travel 11 km and almost everything worth doing in the area is on the other side of the bridge so you can depend on the fact that you will be spending about two hours plus in the car every time you go somewhere.

Parfait
Pros:

Très bon restaurant, chambre très belle et spacieuse, personnel très accueillant. Nous avons apprécié la terrasse pour les photos d'oiseaux et la piscine. Bonne situation géographique pour les sorties bateaux sur la rivière de Tarcolès.

Es war enttäuschend:

Preis-Leistung sind nicht im Verhältnis.
Das Dreibettzimmer ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen, klein und kein Ort zum Verweilen und Aufhalten.
Kein Kühlschrank.
Frühstück zu teuer.

Es ist lediglich ein Ort zum Schlafen.

Das Restaurant ist auch teuer, Pizza im Ansatz gut, doch verbrannt.

Herzlicher Empfang, konnten vor dem Check-in schon an den Pool. Toller Spot für Vogelbeobachtung, vor allem die Aras aber auch viele andere Vögel

Sit in the pool and watch the macaws!
Pros:

We loved staying there for one night. We got there in time to sit around the pool, watching the macaws flying around. The pizza was very good. Our room had two double beds and one of them was much more comfortable than the other.

Good finding
Pros:

Very calm place with a stunning view of the sea and nature, and lots of birds coming while you are taking breakfast . The staff is very helpful

Cons:

Only thing I have to say, is that I was terrible bitted by mosquitos at my arrival at night in the reception area. Good thing is I didn’t see mosquitos after out check in

Excellent Experience for Me!
Pros:

My friend and I stayed here while we were on a week-long multi sport trip in Costa Rica. These accommodations were arranged for us by our tour agency. We were very happy with the lodge. It's simple but clean. It's in a very quiet location down a private road in the countryside. WiFi service is good. Meals and staff are excellent. The pool is lovely. The restaurant is open on three sides with a gorgeous vista, birds, and outstanding sunsets. This area attracts a lot of bird watchers from all over the world. So there were a lot of birdwatchers staying the six days we were there. They were a nice, quiet group of people.
