The Shire anniversary trip
Pros:

Loved the location and the room itself was beautiful! There was a drink station on each floor, well-stocked 24/7.

Cons:

I had one suggestion for improvement and already mentioned it to the establishment. Also, the parking was very limited for the annex building we were in.

Gorgeous property with river views. Plan to be self sufficient for the most.
Pros:

Walking distance to town, huge River House room, gorgeous views, access to fire pits, grocery store across street, extra space heaters great. It is a quiet and beautiful property, we loved it.

Cons:

Minor things: In room primary heater sounds very unhealthy and loud, firewood for fire pits left uncovered in snow so of course it was wet and difficult to light. I grew up in Vermont so was not deterred by the cold.

There is no Lyft or Uber so plan accordingly. Had a glass of wine and did not want to drive- the hotel staff gentleman gave me the number for a cab 30 minutes away in North Lebanon, NH. We had to cancel dinner reservations as the quote was close to $100 and too far away.

i love competing with other guests for hot water.
Pros:

the location in woodstok was ideal to stroll into town. the room was warm - as in temperature. the bed was faily comfortable. the room was big.

Cons:

every single shower we took was was cold. when trying to correspond via the number provided i never got responses. i asked for the hot water situation to be rectified and was completely ignored. i never saw a staff member. the "coffee bar" is a keurig with some pods and coffee mate. i restocked the coffee mate one morning because there wasn't anymore out. the decor in the room was sparse and worn but not shabby. would have been nice to have a coffee station IN the room vs by the cold front door. just a few changes could improve this place. i never went into the main building to see whatever their snack pantry thing was but when i looked it up, it seemed like a glorified vending machine. all in all, i won't be back.
