The Shire Woodstock

The office closed at 6 pm. There was a complimentary Keurig OUTSIDE. Also if we wanted to borrow the steamer it was also outside...on the sidewalk. The bed was too high for my Mom who has mobility issues. There was no step stool and no assistance. There was no closet! We paid over $400 and there wasn't even a closet. Pictures of the place we're pretty but in reality it was bad.

Don't stay here unless you are over 170cm tall. The bed was ridiculously high, I needed to push a chair next to the bed to gain access. The shower amenities such as body wash were also set way too high as was the shower head so I couldn't adjust it. A giant must have designed this room. It's a shame as otherwise it was quite nice. My friend stayed in an adjoining room and had the same issues.

Bathroom was very small but very clean and the vanity allowed plenty of storage.

The room had a displeasing smell and it would have been nice to have coffee service in the room. It was really cold at 6am getting coffee.

Cost for room was way too high for a very basic room due to fall foliage interest. Room was not cleaned between each day. Staff not on property in evening.

Lack of facilities and price. This is really a “motel” with no dining or breakfast - there was a coffee machine placed outside reception in the open air (the reception is no more than a small office room). The price is very high (we paid $600 for a room for three people). Note there is also no lift and we were given a room on the second floor which was difficult being in our seventies with some mobility issues.

Unfortunately I can’t rate this any hire. When we arrived, we had booked a deluxe king riverview room. The river is beautiful and they are several rooms that face straight out to it as well as direct access. NOT ours. It had a side window that if you bent down, you would have a partial view. When we asked, we were told that the type room we booked was not available. At the point I checked their website, and realized not only had they been dishonest and the very room was available to book still, but also that the rate we paid for our room was almost 100 dollars more than the advertised rate. We asked to have the room adjusted. No response. Asked to have the manager call us. No response. And finally contacted Booking.com, who gave them a 48 hour timeline and still NO response . Do not waste your time, there are plenty of other beautiful properties in Woodstock.
