The shower had a very slow drain which ruined the shower experience. I would have rated okay overall if the shower had drained properly.
Staff was great
Dead cockroach & dead cricket. No Kleenex, no towel bars; bathroom barely big enough to turn around in.One hand towel for 2 people. Hair in tub. No grab bars; tub floor slippery.
Remodeled rooms!
This is a run down hotel. There was a big group of loud drunk guys who setup a table in the parking lot and were having a party. The clerk gave us a room next to them but after I asked he was able to move us to a roomWith smaller beds. He was aware of what was happening in the parking lot but nothing was done about it. Definitely an unsafe situation. They were very drunk. The bedding felt gross and sticky and even thought the room had been cleaned it was just rundown. The kind of room you want to wear your shoes in. The breakfast was limited and the waffle maker timer didn’t work. You have to guess when your food is ready.
Not worth the price. Avoid if possible.
The bathtub didn't have a stopper, No lamps by the bed. Othe than that it was nice.
Very NASTY! I literally checked out 3 minutes after I checked in! Was not cleaned, door showed daylight, felt very unsafe. Webite pictures are NOT what this property looks like. The hotel denied any sort of refund, but hotels.com made sure i was credited back everything once they made sure i was safe and satisified.
Very good hotel very nice people
Friendly very good people
Renovation was done well. The room still had the new smell in it. It was great to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. I needed a lamp near the bed but I was able to make it work. Breakfast surprised me with how much it offered (waffle maker!).
Worst hotel I ever stayed at bugs in bed bugs on floor bugs everywhere jus nasty place if you nasty this yo place cigarette holes in blanket not place dude got mad cause I got refund was coming up with every excuse
This is a one-night only kind of place. We were on our way from AZ to TN and pulled in here due to heavy rain because we couldn't continue. The room was adequate and tidy, but the furnishings were outdated (and some pulled away from the wall) and the carpeting was a bit "sticky". There was a good amount of noise due to being close to the highway as well so we didn't sleep well. Good value for the money, but I likely wouldn't recommend unless you were out of options.
The staff was nice and the sheets were clean (I think). Unfortunately, the floor was dirty, and everything had a very worn out feeling. The television doesn't get local channels. The lock was questionable. The Royal Inn needs a lot of work.
The Royal Inn was an older property that we came upon for the first time by chance in Sulphur Springs, then noticed that it was part of a budget chain. We came upon it very late one night at midnight and were anxious to bunk down anywhere at all. We didn’t care about niceties and this place doesn’t have many. The proprietress turned on the A/C in a hot, stuffy room. It took awhile but I was amazed that by morning the place was cold. We didn’t even attempt to take a bath in the dingy bathroom with the threadbare towels. The mattress felt totally flimsy. It threatened to collapse. The room was tiny with hardly any space for luggage. We didn’t hang around to find out if they offered breakfast. We just hurried to McDonalds.
This is by far the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. My car broke down across the street and I had no choice but to stay here. There were blood stains on the walls, mold in every corner of the room, and stains all over the sheets and pillows. When I crawled into my bed I felt crumbs everywhere and also noticed yellow stains all over the sheets. I didn't even use the water coming out of the sink to brush my teeth because the water smelled like a mixture of rotten eggs and dead animals. I was scared to sleep in the bed because it was absolutely repulsive so I decided to make a pallet on the floor, but as soon as I put my pillow down I noticed ants crawling EVERYWHERE, along with dead bugs scattered throughout the room. The toilet was supposed to be white but it was so dirty that it almost looked black. I also woke up several times throughout the night because the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. I’m pretty sure if I would have cut open the mattress there would be a colony of small mammals living in there. If you are considering this hotel, you are so much better off driving through the night or parking your car and sleeping in a Walmart parking lot. I have attached pictures of the scab I found in my bed, the mysterious black (and yellow) spots on my sheets, and strange bloody fungus found on my towel. This hotel needs a better cleaning staff (if there even is one) and a serious makeover. I realized that this was a budget hotel so I knew not to expect much in the first place, but seriously? It is not that difficult to clean the floors and bedding. This place is an absolute disaster.
