Schone kamers, schone openbare toiletten en een fijn zwembad!

Cons:

Het zou een 5-sterrenhotel moeten zijn, maar dat is het absoluut niet. Naast het feit dat het allemaal verouderd is (wat niet zo erg is) is de kwaliteit van de service echt geen 5 sterren. En de sfeer ook niet. Er is geen mogelijkheid om buiten te eten, alleen in een soort serre waar 2 dikke airco’s staan op 16 graden te koelen. Veel te koud. Hetzelfde met het restaurant boven.
Toen wij er waren was er een privé feest waardoor het zwembad op een soort public pool leek en er een muziekbox met harde beat werd aangezet. Bij de receptie ging ik vragen of er in de avond ook muziek zou zijn. Ze verzekerden mij dat dit zeker niet het geval zou zijn. Midden in de nacht 01:20 weten we wakker van harde muziek en dansende mensen buiten. Echt alles behalve 5 sterren kwaliteit. En dat is prima, als je je daar op instelt. Als je uitgaat van een écht 5 sterren hotel, is dit ronduit teleurstellend en ondermaats.

The breakfast was the best ive ever had, it is challenging for a person with celiac disease to travel, this hotel ensured that i was well fed with mutliple alergen friendly options and security is good

Pros:

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Restaurant, spa, pool bar, security. The manager Wilhelm and Sithmi in particular assisting with an early check-in ans showing me around the hotel.

Cons:

Balcony wasn't cleaned. Beach isn't very clean apart from directly in front of the hotel.

Cons:

Hotel amenities are straight from the early 90s while charging prices of 2026. It is ranked as a 5 star hotel but it's actually a 2-3 star hotel. Furniture is old, mirrors are rusty, doors have cracks. Very old and dirty curtains. Pictures from booking and their site do not reflect reality at all. It was the end of our stay in Sri Lanka and one of the biggest disappointments we could have for a very high price. Unfortunately we had no change to cancel without losing all our money. Definitely not worth visiting. Even the pool and the beach were dirty. Not a reflection of Sri Lanka at all.
