Great people, location, amenities, food
Pros:

The Mariposa Jungle Lodge was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and always available. We stayed in the Deluxe Bungalow with Garden View - it was spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of amenities. The pool area was lovely, with places to relax and beautiful gardens - and the pool was very clean and well-kept. We followed the advice of staff and went hiking on their jungle trails - lovely flora and fauna - we were provided a radio to contact staff if needed. We also enjoyed dinner and drinks at the lodge’s intimate restaurant - the service and food were fabulous. The location is great - we explored the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve and Barton’s Cave. We had a lovely visit - thank you / gracias!

Beautiful, relaxing, wonderful stay
Pros:

Well developed facilities nicely integrated in the jungle surrounding. Appreciated the paved roads to the resort.

Overall a pleasant stay
Pros:

Nice setting, clean and comfortable room. Liked seeing the wildlife and walking the trails. In addition to the pool there's also table tennis, a football table and other games you can play which is a nice touch.

Cons:

There was no tea or coffee in the room. Instead coffee was changed at an excessive rate. The same applies to the resturant: I always expect to pay over the odds in a place like this but this really was excessive! The final thing I thought was harsh is the 10 am check out time especially at low season.

Prachtige jungle lodge maar wel prijzig.
Pros:

Je zit hier schitterend in de jungle in je eigen huisje. Het terrein is prachtig! Alles mooi gemaakt en goed onderhouden. Mooi zwembad.
We zaten in het laagseizoen dus hadden bijna alles voor onszelf.

Cons:

Het is prijzig. We hadden graag iets meer variatie/mogelijkheden gehad voor eten. De menukaart bood geen goedkope opties en je heb nauwelijks andere mogelijkheden in de buurt wanneer je geen auto hebt.

Pros:

We enjoyed our stay at Mariposa, the tone was set the moment we arrived. We checked in late and I went to go run in to give our information, our server Robby insured that he needed to greet us properly and asked all our guests to come in for a welcome drink which we thoroughly enjoyed, the kitchen was also waiting on to offer us dinner before they went home for the evening. We stayed in blue morpho which was close to the pool and bar. There was accessible parking. Staff was accompanying to all our needs whether it was supplying us with a cooler or packing us breakfast to go for our excursion.

Please keep in mind you are in the JUNGLE, there are bugs, they are hard to avoid and they will be in your room no matter how nice. Please watch for ticks, two members of our party got ticks from the hammock.

There is jungle noise all night, yelling weasels, curious monkeys. Enjoy these rare moments you may never get to witness again.

The property had more amenities we weren’t able to take advantage of such as the bird tower but I recommend you do if time allows. Property is very close to mountain pine ridge park. San Ignacio town is approximately 20 minutes away so I recommend a car if you plan on visiting town.

My only complaint is that 2/4 days we noticed housekeeping left our door unlocked after leaving.

Pros:

This was a beautiful resort and they were very accommodating. Everyone was very friendly. We were a part of a wedding group so we got to hear about some other places and Mariposa Jungle resort is the place we will be staying again!

Amazing staff - Leo and Robbie went out of their way to provide excellent service and a friendly welcome.
Great location and setting.

Cons:

Food and drink were very overpriced.
A local beer cost 3 times what it did in most other restaurants and 50% more than even more upscale resorts nearby.
Food was tasty, but simply overpriced, perhaps taking advantage of the “captive audience”
