Magical view and wonderful staff
Had room facing the waterfall—perfect view. The breakfast room and terrace were exceptional. The views of the lake from inside and the outdoor terraces were beautiful
I can’t remember anything—apart from some minor delays to get vehicle clearance to enter the property every time and some uncertainty about whether there would be enough parking spaces.
It was amazing. The location is great. The view is something unbelievable. The rooms are clean. It’s old building, but you don’t feel this. You can feel only the romantic style of the hotel. Reception is very nice and helpful.
Maybe it’s a good idea to have a kettle in the room. As for me the dishes in the restaurant doesn’t value for their price

Extremely difficult and expensive to get back to interlakan. No uber or taxi readily available. And once taxi comes. Charges 150-200 franc
Location is out of this world, it feels like James Bond would stay here.
The waterfall room is special.

The setting is stunning, the hotel must occupy arguably one of the most iconic settings in the Bernese Oberland. The Geisbach Falls are beautiful and the view out across Lake Brienz is gorgeous. It's one of those hotels which feels like a once-in-a-lifetime stay, it's got a must-visit appeal.
The parking arrangement is appalling for a hotel of this quality and reputation. We booked on the day of our stay, but that meant we didn't receive the parking voucher (a QR code ticket). We stopped at the main barrier and tried to call via the help button. No answer. Tried again, no answer. Tried calling the hotel on their main phone number, no answer. Cue a very frustrating 30 minutes of trying and failing to get any support from the hotel.
I was then faced with parking as close as possible and walking my elderly mother down a steep and winding road to the hotel. We were not alone, other travellers experienced the same frustration, and when you've paid £600+ for the one-night stay, you should expect better service. We eventually got our QR code at the hotel, and I hiked back up the hill to retrieve the car and bring it downhill. For elderly couples, or those with injuries or disabilities, I think this would be a distressing experience and certainly not becoming of a hotel with such prestige and high prices.
At one point, there were several guests asking me for advice as to how to obtain the QR code and backing up their vehicles at the barrier. Answer your 'Press for help' button please! It's not acceptable.
Lastly, whilst our room was very nice, there was a discarded empty tube of Pringles lodged behind the TV, obviously missed by the housekeeping team. It's no problem that staff miss certain cleaning elements, but after our frustrations on the parking, to have to remove someone else's litter from our room wasn't ideal!
Finally, our coffee on the terrace in the morning was interrupted by an official photographer who had clearly been booked by couple who were staying at the hotel. We have to shuffle ourselves out of the way whilst he set up a tripod and lighting rig to get the 'perfect' shots of the couple on their holiday.
