L hotel étais propre et la chambre tres propre le personnel tres gentil seul petit bémol la salle de bain!!!

Very bad smell in our room from the bathroom . Really really bad !!! Thais the sorar ever İ had in years . Otherwise , Close to the Beach , nice area , good price accommodation , clean . The owner is nice but cant speak English and she wont direct you to any reccomended restaurant or place .

Grei gåavstand til en nydelig strand, mye bråk på hotellet til langt på natt og ble vekket av ansattes rop til hverandre første morgen 6.30. Andre morgen var det skråling fra nærliggende synagoge kl 5.30…. Møbler på rommet i smijern- type hagemøbler. Seng og puter harde som betong. Rosa hotell med mye ulike farger på rommet.

I have no problems with the rooms, location, staff or the price.

I would actually say that it is for the most very good. Some issues like the naked light bulbs is a bit boring but that is ok. Shower is nice, AC is nice, bed a bit hard but totally ok. The staff is bad at English but gestures and a smile gets you where you want get,

The things that rake down my score is more a humanitarian issue. Mostly environment and animal welfare. Ok so I know I am in Thailand and ofc values are not the same thing as back home (sweden). But I have 3 things that relay bugs me.

1. There is a huge ugly fish in a aquarium in the lobby. The fish is alone in the aquarium and the aquarium is to small for him/her. There is no vegetation or sand in the aquarium so the fish just keep stroking the glass in distress.Release the fish and scrap the aquarium idea if your not going to do it the right way.

2. Behind the hotel (were you have to enter and exit the building during the night) there is a family living that seems to have close ties to the hotel (either working or owning it) outside their house they have like 4 tiny birdcages. Each cage has a pigeon in it. They are outside 24/7 in a cramped cage. That is no life to live, even for a bird. Get rid of the cages!

3. Ok so most hotels in Thailand have single use bars of soap (the last longer than one use). But Lanta Sweet Mansion have single pack of shampoo in small plastic bags. These do not last more than one shower and the environmental toll is insane. It is not like there is a shortage of garbage in Thailand. Why would anyone have soap this way? Mount a container in the wall of refill small bottles like a normal hotel!

I understand that this might be small issues for most and you might call me crazy but I will leave that up to you to decide.

What a great place. The young lady that greated us was super. She spoke and understood english well. The room we were given was a palace compared to our last place in lanta. Our room was spotless. It was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. The maid who cleans the room was so helpful and did a fantastic job. Our towels were clean and smelled great. Everyday it was a joy to return to our room. There was no safe in the room but i actually felt good leaving my stuff in the room without any worry.
The beach is about a 5 minute walk down the street. There are lots of restaurants and at least two 7-11 stores near by.
If i had to pick something that SOME people might not like i would say the proximity of the mosque about 500 feet away. I personally do not mind hearing the call to prayer at 5 am. I left this place wishing i hadn't booked my ferry and flight back to bangkok. I definitely would have stayed longer. The room was north American standards at a GREAT price. Having said that i must say i did stay in the newer building addition behind the principal pink building. Im sure those rooms are just as good. To me if the owners take pride in their place it makes all the difference.

This is my/our 4 th time here,,,and I don't think anyone would be back 4 times without being satisfied,,,its by No mean a luxory hotel,so what is it?. Well first of all,the staff could not be better,,,it goes for all,,from the reception to the cleaner..they are very flexible,,me/ we may have her sister,mother travelling with us 3 persons,No problem.. everything in the room works,,the hotel made an upgrade several years ago No fanroom anymore,which means it may not be the budget place it was,,400 bath then,now in highseason we paid 1000 bath/ Night for a 3 bed room,,,in lowseason it would be 600 ...location is good 5 min walk to the beach,,,some restaurants around... anything negative??? Well a close by mosque makes Noice 5 Times a day,,preyercall,,and the first time is 1h before Dawn,,05.30...the reception is sometimes empty,but the explanation is that both ladies working there have 2-3 small children..

Place was clean and Nice but somehow basic

Hotel is next to some great restaurants. The Sawasdee restaurant next door has great sweet and sour fried snapper, for example. Also 2 scoops ice cream and gelato is part of tge same building. Beach is a 5 minute walk past the bank across the street and through a resort. 711 is closeby too.

We booked with expedia, recommend you book directly as we wer put in a room facing a mosque and call to prayer at 5am woke up up the first morning. Consecutive mornings not as much as we got used to it but it is loud! Try to book on north side of hotel facing Sawasdee restaurant if you can.

Staff were friendly and even put up with my in laws from Mainland China and their quirkiness. Helped to arrange a van to airport for 2000baht at 5am on the day we left for Bangkok.

Would stay here again but not on north side.

600baht a night for a clean spacious aircon room with window. Good deal for the location, only a 2 minute walk just across the main road. Many restaurants and bars surrounding. It is a good deal for those looking for a clean budget hotel. Did leave after one night and opted to pay 200baht more for a beach bungalow but enjoyed our stay at sweet mansion. Thanks

I came to this place with two of my friends and without reservation. They had room only for two person but they arranged one extra bed in our room. Price was 800thb for two and one extra person was 200 more. Room was clean, everything was working there normally (warm shower, air conditioning...) and the hotel was very close to the beach also. I recommend this place.

Hello.this is my second time in this place.I can not find anything negative to say about this place
I/we paid 400b per night and that is very cheap for that standard of room.ok it was a fan room but that's all what is needed..I can only say that if this resort was located on the beach the rates would be twice the actual rate..there are also scored longstay rates which are even better.
When it comes to service and friendliness at least I felt that they are taking that extra step. I will take an example..I arrived there a few days earlier than my wife and was given a single bed room..I did tell them that my wife(who is Thai) will drop in in a few days and that she may have her younger sister with her but I am not sure,ok they came a day earlier than expected so I went to the reception to see what we would do..they offered us to change to a two bed room straight away without extra charge...
Last year I mentioned a strange smell in the rooms and corridors that I believed was the cleaning fluid,,ok that smell is gone.
The only thing I can see as not top-notch is the matresses they need a bed-actress on top of those they have. We all had tired back when we woke up,but it goes away quite fast.

excellent accommodation. pleasant family environment. The rooms are well equipped. air conditioning, fan, TV, large comfortable bed and a very nice price. All necessary amenities nearby accommodation. gas station, store Seven7, pharmacy and snacks.

Hello.. I stayed here 5 nights in the end of march...When I came back from Ko jum I knew that going back to seapearl cottage was not a first-choise option for reasons I mentioned in an another review...Lanta sweet mansion was on my list of possible places to stay in ko lanta and I am very satisfied that I did...
In my opinion it was "the best value for money stay" on my/our 7 weeks in Thailand....
I paid 400 bath per night for a fan room,and because I was not sure how long I would stay I paid day/day....Week/week would have given me a better price and month per month is the choice if you plan to stay more than 22-23 days...

I can not see any negative point that is difficult to live with...If I have to put a finger on something, it has to be an odd smell in the rooms but also in the corridors,,, at first I thought of
moisture damages but since it was more or less everywhere I think its the soap with which they
clean the floor....

The staff are very friendly,it goes for all of them...Its a family that own the place..
It will be on top of my list for places to stay if and when I am back in Ko lanta...

I stayed in another hotel the night before for 2,000 baht and decided to move as it smelt a bit mouldy! This hotel wad recommended to me by a local expat. 600 baht a night, perfect location, spotless and really friendly owners and staff.

The rooms are reasonably sized, have new air con units and have functioning hot showers

It's nothing special, but it's perfectly adequate for staying fir a few nights. Next time I go to Koh Lanta I'll be staying here.

WELL RECOMMENDED!

Stayed for about 5 nights in early December 2012 while travelling solo. Found it as I was walking past one evening after staying in a fan only room just off the beach 5 mins walk down the road in quite a grim, dated and bug infested room. This was such a relief to find somewhere so clean and hospitable in comparison.

Had a large, airy room with air con. Facilities were basic but catered for what I needed including washroom toiletries, fresh towels, fridge and drinking water each day, plus wifi. The hotel is located on the other side of the street from the beach but it just means crossing the road and you're pretty much on your way. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day. The staff were also extremely helpful and pleasant, even helping to arrange scooter hire at a reasonable rate.

Recommended this place to some other guys travelling who I bumped into and they seemed to like it also. I would definitely head back to this place again, rates were reasonable too while I was there.

This place is a great little find - not on any of the main websites but much better than a lot of the other places around in the same price range. Fortunately was bug free when I stayed there and clean. Would highly recommend!!!

we paid 400thb for a twin room with air con
tv and private bathroom and fridge .
we knew we wanted to stay on lanta for a month and had planned to move down the island,but after spending a day on a motorbike looking at loads of other places we thought sweet mansion was a really good deal.
the rooms are a really good size , really clean and the hotel is well cared for .
the family who run it are very helpful and made us feel very welcome during our stay.
english is not widely spoken , but it was not a big problem day to day.
sweet mansion is right in the middle of klong dao beach so its really close to loads of good places to eat and the main town of saladan is about a 15 minutr walk away , but if you hire a motorbike everywhere on lanta is fairly close.
there is a good travel agent over the road , lanta sunsmiles tours, who did us a good rate on bike hire 1000thb for a week , and were happy to hold our driving licence not our passports , which was good for thailand.
overall lanta is a really laid back relaxing island , its not party central but there are good restaurants and some decent bars too.
plus some really good beaches.
we will be back and look forward to staying at sweet mansion again .

We only stayed one night so we could be reasonably handy to the Pier for early morning ferry and it was perfect for that. Room was spacious and in good condition. Wifi free and worked well. Bathroom ensuite. Air con. Restaurants near by. For 500 baht it was excellent value. Limited English but enough to get by. Travel Agent next door to arrange ferry. It was certainly everything we wanted. Even the bed was not as hard as most Thai beds

We were "flash packing" around Thailand for a month and wanted to stay in Koh Lanta for around 10 days as it was so beautiful. All the other Hotels were at least 800B for a very basic fan room or hut with nothing else but a bed and toilet.
Lanta Sweet Mansions however was the cleanest, most spacious room we stayed in during our trip and for 700b per room per night there was also cable TV, a fridge in the room with free water per day, a spacious en-suite bathroom and excellent Air-con which is a necessity anywhere in Thailand in my opinion.
This is no luxury resort and resembles more of a travel lodge but is only around 1 year old, the staff are lovely and speak good english, clean the room with fresh bedding every day and provide the cheepist laundry service on the island as well as moped hire and internet. The hotel is just off the beach at around 1 or 2 minute walk away and if your on a budget but not willing to compromise on standerd, cleanliness and facilities then this place is perfect. It does not have a pool but who wants to sit by the pool when the beach is so amazing. This hotel is not on any other web site and we only found it by chance as we were staying in a hotel next door to it but its well worth a look and wit the money we saved on the hotel we were able to take more trips and eat out all over the island.
