Dated hotel, some rooms have nice views of the Pacific Ocean
Pros:

This dated hotel has a great location and a Disneyesque theme that dates back to the 1960's. The view of the Pacific from the room's balconly was lovely. Great staff, one gentleman from the front desk even ran to get me ice. This was much appreciated as my knees did not want to descend to the lower parking lot and then march back up with the ice. Perhaps an ice machine at the lobby level would be a good idea.

Cons:

Room size was rather small, chairs were attractive but you sank so low into them that it was difficult to get out of them. I sat in them only once. There are not enough outlets in the room, even the bedside radio (did I say dated?) and lamps did not offer additonal outlets. Balcony deck paint is peeling, one of the chaise had a broken slat.

Pros:

This was a very cute and charming boutique hotel with a Bavarian theme. The room was nice and clean. There was a large group so we got upgraded to a king with a private balcony. We got to watch the beautiful sunset every night and wake up to the sound of crashing waves (my favorite). We forgot our jackets in the closet and Carrie was kind enough to overnight it to us. The dry sauna was a bonus!

Cons:

The mattress was a little old but seemed to fit the overall charm.

Terrible bed, good location
Pros:

Staff was friendly and the facility was very clean. The location was a short walk to the main strip of downtown.

Cons:

The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we've ever slept on. It was soft and sunk in the middle, so that we both woke up with sever body aches. Neither of us slept well since the bed was like a trampoline every time one of us moved. Parking was also difficult and there were no spaces off street when we arrived. The TV was very small and only offered limited channels with no ability to connect to streaming services. There was no overhead lighting and the small table lamps were not bright enough on the far side of the room.

Value for the money in my opinion. Will be back again!
Pros:

Cute hotel in a great location. Walkable to Carmel downtown. Older building with thin walls, but hot showers, all outlets worked and heater keeps the room warm. Staff is super nice as well.
