Dome Resort

Can't say enough good words about this hotel! Moved from another place to this place for the last two days of our trip and the moment we made it to the reception area - we were impressed!
The receptionist Nai was so enthusiastic and helpful, such a pleasure to talk to and really did everything to make us feel comfortable! He was so happy it instantly cheered us up!
The usual check-in time is 2pm, but we arrived early and Nai made sure we were checked in before 2.. perhaps an hour went by and we were already checking in.. during this time we swam at the pool which is really nice!
The garden at this place makes the hotel special, you can walk around the garden and enjoy the scenery.

The room was honestly bigger than most rooms I've seen at hotels, with a large bed.. a flat screen TV, plenty of channels (including Paramount). The aircon worked perfectly, bathroom was so clean and beautiful.. and the room smelled so good when we stepped in. Plus there's a large balcony for each room.

I'm beyond impressed! Only good words to say about this place. thank you!

I would never recommend the Dome Resort to anyone! Check in wen ok, but they gave us the wrong room assignments that we paid for. We booked deluxe rooms with an extra bed and that isn’t what we got at all. When we checked our beds there was lizard poop all over the bed, see picture. They came and changed the bedding at midnight and they wouldn’t compensate our room charge at all. The toilet in one room was also not working for the whole time we were there even after we mentioned it multiple times. The ONLY positive of this hotel is that it is relatively close to the beach. I would NOT stay here. There are many other hotel options in the area.

We stayed in garden view bungalow for 8 nights in December 2018.

Pros: Excellent location! 5min walk to the beach, markets, restaurants, souvenir shops etc all around you. Breakfast at Rawai Love Cafe is good, the staff is friendly and nothing to complain about the cleaning of the rooms either. The pool is clean and nice and bigger than it looks in the photos but the sunbeds need to be changed to new ones immediately! So remember to bring your own pool towel with you. Wifi works well in bungalows and is fast.

Cons: Pictures of the rooms are old so don't believe them. At least the garden bungalows are old and in need of a renovation... It looks like the rooms close to the pool are not in use. But Dome Resort is also very cheap so the price to quality ratio is good if you compare it to new fancy hotels right next to it. During night time you can hear some noise from the streets but at least for us it was not too loud.

Massive thank you to Nai, or yes yes yes like we called the amazing receptionist at this fantastic resort. Nothing was too much trouble for this guy. He is such an asset, our stay would not have been the same without him. We can't thank you enough.
We found Dome resort on TripAdvisor and pre booked this before arrival from the UK. Every email with questions was answered promptly. He booked our transfer to and from airport. We arrived and was shown to our garden view room that we fell in love with. We sat on our veranda every morning having coffee and in the evenings we had sundowners before heading out for dinner. Aircon worked perfectly, shower was great and the room was super clean. The housekeeping staff cleans the room everyday if you want with freshly cleaned sheet, towels and free bottles of drinking water. They work so hard and we really like to thank them for their hard work.

The pool is clean and deep with a bubble pool. We used it everyday. The resort is only a short walk away from the beach, who cares that the 5 min walk goes along a half empty river.

There is a restaurant on site, don't miss out on the sizzler seafood plate it was amazing.
Again thank you Dome resort for a fantastic two week stay. And all you help.
I would never stay anywhere else in Kata. Dome is like an oasis in this town.

Tip: get some mosquito coils from the nearby 7 eleven there only cheap, if you like to sit outside on your veranda mornings or evenings.

On arrival to dome resort with my friend Ulrika we were welcomed by the lovely friendly and helpful nai he could not be more helpful and he went out of his way to make sure everything was ok for us ...the room was overlooking a beautiful garden in which we woke up every morning to the sound of the birds and had a coffee in our veranda !!! The room was lovely and clean and could be cleaned every day if you wanted it to but we didn’t have it cleaned every day the house keeping staff were amazing and made the room lovely and clean and fresh ... everyone at dome resort was very friendly and helpful .there is also a lovely swimming pool which is perfect for cooling down in and having a sun bath on he loungers ... thank you to nai and the team for a lovely stay I would highly recommend this place to anyone

In January 2018 I stayed a few nights at Dome Resort.
At arrival I was already surprised by the exceptional freindly and warm welcome through the receptionist Nai and read what else he made possible.
The room was really big and very clean.
Then there was a issue with the AC stopped working. I called Nai up in the middle of the night and he showed up a few minutes later and got the AC running again. Just to be sure he left us a key for a second free room that we could use for the night in case the AC would fail again. What a service.

When leaving the hotel I was smart enough to leave my wallet in the tresor. Nai went through all the administration of my forwarder to get the wallet shipped to me. As the forwarder does not allow cash to be inside Nai changed my € into THB and is wiring them to my bank account. I'm full of trust that no money will be missing. What else could one ask for.

Can only say thank you and recomend this place for anyone who wants to stay in Kata Beach.

Although we thought the room was great, spacious and clean, and the hotel is well located (5mins walk to Kata Beach) but it’s felt the test of time and is need of some TLC!

The pool area does the job but the sun lounger mats and umbrellas are ancient and grubby. Outside shower/toilet are dirty and surrounded by stagnant water. Between the pool and reception are rubbish bags around and general litter which could be easily removed away from guests. Our TV seemed like it was 20 years old and didn’t work properly either.

Nai was brilliant and can’t fault him at all, without him the hotel would score much lower!

Wasn’t the worst, wasn’t the best.

Nous avons pris un bungalows pour 3 nuits. Mauvaise pioche :
- pas d'eau chaude, on apprend le lendemain qu'il faut se doucher le jour car l'eau chauffe avec le soleil, on aurait aimé le savoir à notre arrivée.
- nous avons réservés 2 lits séparés et les lits sont collés et nous devons partagés le drap. Le personnel a dit qu'il les séparerait le lendemain mais ils ne l'ont pas fait pourtant on est restés 3nuits.
- si vous prenez une chambre, vous sortirez alors dans le jardin par un escalier trés dangereux qui se termine dans la piscine
- le balcon des bungalows est inutilisable tant le mobilier de jardin est sale
- les transat de la piscine sont également trés sales
- les draps qu'on a eu sont tâchés. On a en demandé des propres et le personnel nous a dit qu'on avait qu'à changer d'hotel ! On etait choqués. On a refusé car on a déjà payé cet hotel et on n'a pas envie de predre du temps à en rechercher un autre. Le personnel de jour (femmes) et le veilleur de nuit (homme) sont impolis par leur attitude et leurs réponses.
- le menage est mal fait : sol sale pres des murs.
- les serviettes de toilettes sont bleus donc pas lavés à haute temperature et vu le lieu c'est pas rassurant
- le mobilier est vétuste, l'éclairage archaique et inefficace.
- il y a des tâches partout sur les murs, ce n'est vraiment pas entretenu.
- le wi fi marche quelques minutes de temps en temps. On n'a pas pu en profiter autant qu'on le souhaitait.
- Enfin le matelas est dur comme du bois.

Rien à voir avec les photos affichées sur site. Le client est trompé, la propreté laisse à désirer. Le jardin est mal entretenu. Que dire de la poussière dans la chambre. Ce n est pas un bon rapport qualité prix. J ai demandé le remboursement car nous avions payé d avance mais la centrale ne nous a pas répondu. Le côté positif c est sue l on est bien placé près de la plage et des commerces. Pas un bon rapport qualité prix.

I had to walk around little bit to get to kata beach. There's even playground next to surf house. I'll stay there again when I visit kata beach.

If you are used to vacation in the country with a bottle of vodka, then this hotel will suit you really - old cottages with rickety doors. What are the three stars - only two at a stretch.
This is the worst hotel on Kata Beach - I can with confidence to prove after the third trip. Not surprisingly, the Russian on arrival immediately begin with grief thump. And a deposit at the hotel only to compensate for the damage that would be after a night uproars. But there is something to compensate - regularly hit the window.
In the morning the hotel envelops the smell of sewage - is a river skunk. it is the shortest way to the beach. But to swim at Kata Beach after a walk you will not want to - just go to Karon. By the way s and all the surrounding hotels stink too.
A ragged and dirty bedclothes at all in this hotel can not be surprised.
In fact it is three hotels in one – “Be My a guest” across the street, dilapidated cottages and
multi-storey building with a swimming pool.
Some tourists could soon abandon the bungalow and moved to a normal room. It managed to us. We have long and hard search of the old fund with a small refrigerator full of ice and with much persuasion we were given a normal room, but next to the bungalow, where we watched the life of summer residents.
A special story about reception - simply absent which is not typical for Thailand. The girl barely speaking in English comes after 11-00 and goes to 17-00. According to Russian here no one speaks. So what about the beach towels and umbrellas you must sure – nobody will give them to you. One person will fry you an omelet, then he will be on duty at reception – it is an acute shortage of staff.
The rooms are cleaned every day, breakfast is normal.
Try to find a better hotel on the -even on 100- $ 200 more expensive,
Booking of this hotel cannot be acceptable.

I booked this before looking at previous reviews and kind of panicked as it doesn't have great reviews but it is great! It's quite dated but it's clean, our room is huge and the wifi is excellent. The pool is old but clean and nice, there is no restaurant but the street is full of them for all meals! Aircon was great, Tv had lots of channels and our stuff was safe here. It's old but clean and totally suitable. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice beach hotel in Phuket. Bed was not my favourite ever, but I was looking for a bed walking distance to the beach, and this hotel fit the bill. Staff was AMAZING, staying on site until 1am when I landed late... even though the office closed at 6pm during the low season.

We have stayed in this hotel in the year 2013 for a month and it was in a much better condition at that time. So we made our bookings for the hotel rooms with thinking that we will see the same standards again. At that time, the hotel was serving breakfast and there was a very easy access to the garden and pool areas which was nicely landscaped and maintained. But this time we have seen the difference at the minute we arrive to the hotel. We have been told that the management is changed but it seems the new owners/management didn’t spend any moment for improvements. Firstly there were no breakfast service in the hotel and they wanted to direct us to a restaurant next door. Than we saw a new odd building closed the passage to the garden/ pool area from the hotel rooms. And the room was full of broken furniture like as coffee table, cupboard. The bathrooms are outdated and definitely needs a good renovation. All the sheets and towels were smelling clean but looking ragged and many stains on.
So we believe the hotel is not a good and comfortable place to stay anymore.

My husband and I had decided not to eat at the same restaurant more than twice on our holiday. After a friend introduced us to Dome restaurant we ate there breakfast lunch and tea. The food is amazing as is the price and the service is fabulous! We didnt stay at the resort but next time we would.

The "BEST" hotel (out of four) during our two week vacation in Thailand. We (me & my wife) really liked Phuket and extended our stay. We had option of spending additional days either in Kata or Patong (we were in Patong before visiting Kata), and the moment we reached Dome Resort, we decided to stay here. This place is a real gem. Complete Kata beachfront is occupied by a single 5 star resort, so all the other hotels are on a bit side. This place on next ideal location and is on 3-4 minutes walking distance to beach. Very reasonably priced and they also gave me discount although it was high season in Kata (December) Rooms spacious and very neat and clean. Pool is beautiful, with attached Jacuzzi. There are two types of room locations i.e., garden view and pool view. Pool view are a bit costly than garden view, bit in my opinion it doesn't matter which room you choose as garden view are not far from the swimming pool. Garden is well maintained and very beautiful. Complementary morning breakfast is very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely & strongly recommend this awesome place to anyone looking for a nice place in Kata.

We stayed overnight and regretted not to have more time there.. The location is walking distance from Kata beach, the swimming pool is clean, big enough and the rooms are well equiped, each in a little house...we definetly spent a much nicer night in Dome than a big resort.

When in phuket (one of the more expensive islands in thailand) this is a very good hotel especially considering the price from 1000 up to 1700 baht in high season for a large luxery room (you find these in the building above the reception) the restaurant is good too (try the thai ommelet for breakefast!!!)

We have choose this hotel, 'cause it look so preaty in pictures: clean room, tiny garden, lake not far from Kata beach....
Garden - yes. Not far - yes (but path to the beach was awful). Lake - almost, but room... old furniture, bath in thai-style.
All it's ok with price $15, but in pick-season price was 60!
So I recomend you Kata Villa with same price and more comfortable condition.
