Pros:

The location is just gorgeous. My daughter and I had a lovely relaxing get away and we will definitely be returning! The breakfast was delicious so good and the pool was awesome as well.

Great location, but pretty pricey.
Pros:

The location is gorgeous. It's located on the ocean and while I wish the beach was a bit more accessible to swim, it was still so pretty. We also enjoyed the restaurant - the food is very, very good. Our kids had fun at the pool.

Cons:

Our room was right next to their sewer system, so it smelled very much like sewage every time we walked out our door. Luckily, no where else on the premise smelled. Also, our room was very small and the shower was dirty. I think we paid too much for what we got, but we made the best of it.

The bathroom was tiny and the toilet seat was a little lower than the top of the tub very disappointed. The service at the restaurant wasn't very good

A restful stay with relaxing activities.
Pros:

Smuggler's Cove is an ideal destination for families who want lots to do for themselves and the kids while not being hectic or loud. The large lawns give plenty of room for people to spread out, and the outdoor games and a lovely pool with a view of the bay help provide pleasant and relaxing activity. The staff were friendly, thoughtful, and helpful, and the on-site restaurant has ample seating and delicious food. There's even a deck if you like to enjoy breakfast outside. The room was comfortable and quiet, even though there were a lot of guests on the property. We'd definitely come back.

I would certainly stay here again if I was up in Boothbay.
Pros:

Location and staff were amazing. Pool and the ocean. Breakfast was included and was excellent.

Cons:

Some aspects of the building were sketchy. The upper deck and the stairs were shaky. Not to code due to age. we were on the bottom floor but our friends were upstairs.

Buildings and rooms are very outdated. In need of painting and general maintenance (I.e. the toilet had a loose handle, etc.). It needs a luxe touch.

We had adjoining rooms 19 and 20 in the Anchor Building. Rooms were clean. People may complain that the carpet isn’t spotless, but this is a beach hotel. Impossible to keep carpets spotless. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. The view of the bay was fantastic. The rooms had been updated at some point and were very nice for our two night stay. It’s not luxury, but compared to many other properties around the bay, I think we made a good choice.

We didn’t use the pool, although we saw several families enjoying themselves. Some mentioned ants around the pool, but my guess was that was because of the summer season. The pool area was clean. There is a fire pit that was in use each night. Kayaks are free for guests!

The restaurant adjacent to the hotel is very good. Service was prompt and friendly. Servings were large. My son had the largest piece of fish with his fish and chips that I’ve ever seen. Hot breakfast buffet was provided each day free of charge.

This is a family owned property and it seems like the family works on sight. They were all very kind as were the other office staff workers.

No complaints and convenient to the village without being overrun by tourists.
