The beach was isolated.
The shore was dirty and the lock on our room was broken. We informed the receptionist but they didn’t want to believe us so we slept with a broken door lock.
The windows of the bathrooms were almost see through. During the day it was ok. But at night when the light inside the bathrooms were open we see the one who is taking a bath.
Wifi is very slow.
Toilet bidet water slow. Shower water OK.
Faster wifi.
Toilet Bidet water speed should be much better.
Near the beach and the village
Facilities are no good.. No free coffee after 10 in the morning.. There is no kettle in the room .no small towels only 1..
Reasonable cost with sea view. The size of the room was good.
It wasn't soundproof at all. Always heard noises outside all night that i couldn't sleep well.
Beautiful view right on the beach
Good big and comfortable bed
Hot water worked
A/C worked
The fridge smelled of durian.
The pool was not clean so couldn't use it
No toilet paper provided in the bathroom
No iron provided even when we asked the front desk
This grand hotel is fairly new but suffered 3 years of closure due to CoVid. As a result it needs a good deep clean and a refresh however, no doubt, funds are limited so, it seems, they are restarting the business and, I am sure, will invest during the upcoming off season to bring it back up to it's previous glory.
The small town itself is not very touristy and the main draw is the incredible Preecha Seafood Restaurant almost next door which gets busy each night and brings the tourists, who stay at the Condotels and Resorts at Ban Amphur Beach, the next beach area South of the Nantra, to eat and then return to their accommodation.
We were in Room 404.
The door entry card worked on a bit of a hit and miss system. Sometimes it opened straight away other times nothing or a red light flash and a 30second or so delay before it worked.
It had a great sea view, I don't know what the view from the rooms opposite was like.
There was Aircon, a small fridge, that was rather noisy at night, bottled water but no tea/coffee facilities, mini bar nor phone. There was a safe but it was not secured down.
The wash area, toilet and shower room worked well but needed some love. The glass pane between the shower area and bedroom is cracked at the bottom corner.
There were limited power points. One above the fridge, one used by TV, one used by fridge,
If you need a coffee, go out of the alley, turn left and there is a cake shop about 100m up on the left that does good coffee. The eatery opposite is good and super cheap and where the locals eat.
When we arrived it was difficult to find the entrance. The hotel is on the seafront but set back from the road.
Access is down a narrow alley which has an easily missed red sign at the opening stating, in Thai, that it is the access route to the Nantra.
Improving the signage and some white paint could transform the approach.
The room needs a tidy up, there are burn marks on floor between the bed and window despite the large No Smoking sign warning of a 2000bht fine for breaching the rule.
There are chunks missing from the laminate surfaces and scuffs to the walls.
Cleaning seems to be basic as we had a cluster of spiders on the ceiling in the wet area, something Wifey is particularly reactive to.
We had a swarm of tiny spiders on the counter above the fridge, across the wall to the door and upwards towards the ceiling plus another load coming down from a hole in the corner of the ceiling in the washroom on to the counter top. We managed to get rid of them but no doubt they will return. Fortunately there were big shelves by the windows onto which we could stash our kit to keep them away from the ants.
The "private" beach is dirty and below the tideline has lots of rubbish during low tide. Whether a quick clean up would solve that or the rubbish would simply be replaced by the next tide I don't know.
Placing a net across the mouth of the inlet might help but may affect the whole ecosystem of the inlet. I hope these considerations have been made but sadly I think the general Thai apathy has taken charge.
There are no catering facilities at the hotel but there is coffee available in the morning, apparently. We only found this out, too late, on our last day.
Don’t have kettle in the room and don’t have coffee or tea in the public area.
Clean room. Comfortable beds. Every day cleaning service. The sea view of the room is amazing. It's exactly like on the photos. Nice little private beach where you can swim and relax. The pool is also good.
It's a quiet location away from the tourist hotspot of Pattaya. But you find a lot of restaurants and street food just some minutes walk.
The staff ist very friendly
A sun umbrella at the beach would be nice because in the afternoon the palms don't provide shadow anymore.
There are no fly screens at the windows. So you can not open the window in the night although the temperature was cool and instead of the rushing of the waves you only hear the Aircon of the neighbours.
