Very good place, clean, friendly staff, price ok. Could use some updating.
Pros:

The room (I think it was called a luxury room) was spacious and clean. There were not many choices for our dog staying with us off season - the other room was way too small and after many years the local Ramada no longer takes pets - and so while the luxury one was more expensive they gave us a reasonable price break. Also being very near the beach and off-season it was where we could take the dog out for evening and morning walk.

Cons:

The sofa (for watching tv) could have been more comfortable but that's not what we were there for. The main problem was the soft mattress. Might have been fine for many guests, but one of us needs a firm mattress for our back. Most modern hotels have firmer mattresses. A bad backache the whole next day - and we decided not to stay the second night. We did not expect a refund and we were not offered one. It's the chance you take with many Maine resorts, not unique to this one. Also booking.com did not make it clear the room we reserved was not a pet friendly room. That is on booking.com not the Alouette who did their best to accomodate us.

Pros:

We had wonderful service during our stay. The receptionist went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable - and that was without knowing it was our honeymoon! (For the hotel’s records: I believe the person who helped us was named Caroline.) Facilities were good, sauna was a pleasant surprise, and the view of the sunrise on the beach (easily accessible) is a must-see.

Cons:

Breakfast at the diner was okay. Quick service though.

Great place to stay with friendly staff and clean accommodations.
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The easy access to the beach was a huge asset. We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone.

It was understandably busy, due to the holiday. We went elsewhere.

Cons:

We were lucky to get a room on such short notice. Next year we will reserve a room on the first floor.

It was a little disappointing
Pros:

When air conditioner failed, it was replaced. When smoke alarm went off someone fixed it quickly. We have stayed before a few times and were pleased with our room.

Cons:

No place to sit in room. The charge for the room seemed way too much for the room even it being economy.

Great staff, perfect location. Would definitely stay again.
Pros:

The alouette is located right on the beach, within easy walking distance to the pier. The staff is wonderfully kind and helpful if you have a problem. And there is a fantastic breakfast restaurant on site where you can eat in or take out, that also has a great staff.

Cons:

The bathrooms in the economy room was very small. If you are a larger sized person an upgrade might be desirable. At least during the off season, like when we stayed, upgrades were available.

Fantastic experience! You won't regret your stay here.
Pros:

If you want a comfortable, clean, enjoyable experience right on the beach...this is the place to go! The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were perfect (rare these days!), room was clean. I had an oceanfront room, which I highly recommend. Has a nice coffee maker so get up and make yourself some coffee and sit and watch the sunrise... Oh, and then visit the restaurant for breakfast, friendly staff and food was great!

Pros:

We received an upgrade to a suite for a small fee (another upgrade would have been free). We had a balcony looking out to the water, the beach was a few steps away and there was a nice breakfast selection.

We would go back there for a 1st choice in where to stay if we visit Maine again.
