Only thing good about this hotel is in the middle of city and lot of shops around. It’s old and dirty bathtub. Bed mattress is also not firm and very very old. I won’t stay here again,
Good hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff.
Good many options for breakfast. Just a few minutes away from the famous 19th food street.
I had a great stay at Best Western Chinatown for 4 nights.
My room is clean and comfortable. The toilet is good and has bidet. Basic toiletries are provided. They clean the room daily but just make sure to turn on the sign for the staff to know you want your room cleaned. The switch might confuse you with the light switch as they are beside each other. Please take note that the sounds you are making inside your room can also be heard outside.
The breakfast is awesome! There are few selections to choose from. There's rice, noodles, toast. They also have hot soup and some side dishes like chicken and fish. They have a chef that freshly cooks eggs of your choice. They also have an array of Asian desserts like cakes and gellies. They also offer a variety of beverages like hot milk tea, coffee, normal tea, juice (too sweet for me), etc.
The hotel is located in a very strategic area. At night, there are few popup mixed rice restaurants selling local foods. I love the mutton bone marrow soup there. The first popup night restaurant on the right hand side of the hotel when you go outside sells this.
The hotel is near Sinn O Dan Street. At the end of this street, there are few shops selling good desserts and beverages such as ice cream, fresh fruit shakes, and freshly squeezed sugar cane. Next to this street is the 19th street where local bars are thriving.
What I like the most is the high-level of security the hotel offers. Guests will be welcomed with beautiful smiles of local staffs. Visitors need ID in order to go up. The reception will call you to ask permission for the visitor to go up and also to exit from the hotel. Some will take this as inconvenience but that's how good security works my darlings.
Please note that there's rotational brownout. It only takes few seconds to change power source for the lights and 3-5 minutes for the AC to start turning on.
Some rooms have terrible AC. Mine is average. It doesn't cool much but it's bearable for me.
The exhaust is not working properly for most rooms so you will smell some unpleasant odor in your room as you keep it closed most of the time. Opening the windows is not advised because of mosquitos.
It was nice and close to market and a mall
breakfast is ok, rooms are ok. the staffs are very friendly and accomodating.
location is in the city center.
That was the second trip in recent month, and I stayed the same place, Best Western China Town, Yangon, for the second time. I have stayed a full 28 days, a maximum allowance of Myanmar visa (Feb 26th-March 26th, so24). As always, all the staff, from the counter to the kitchen, I will give better than five stars, if there is a rating of more than five.
Thank you very much again to Operating Manager Ko Kyaw Swar Oo who always helps me all the way with any trivial thing. Thanks to Kitchen Staff, Ko Myo Swe and the rest of the staff including the two Chef who treated me like one of their family members. The four ladies from the front Desk, Swe Swe, and all.
There is nothing I can say better than Thank You so much to all of you. I genuinely appreciate all the staff that I have met.
I will be there again in the next few months. See you then…sincerely, Tom Yu
Room had the aroma cigarettes
The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, the room was lovely, beds very comfortable, perfect location for us
Nothing, staff are amazing, hotel is fine 🙂
Great hotel, we've stayed here before and came back
Nothing, it's a nice hotel in a great location for our needs
Stayed 5 nights at this hotel with an entire football team (players & staff). Hotel staff and management worked really hard to accomodate the demands of our team (dining, gym, internet, etc.). Because of the staff and quality of the hotel amenities & food, the stay was very cozy and welcoming. Kudos to the manager and staff! Salamat!
Excellent accomodation with great staff, always ready to welcome you. The room service and housekeeping staff are always ready and active to serve you. The food is also fresh and good, especially the varieties in breakfast. Good experience all over.
Great location for street food and market. Room was comfortable and with a fantastic view of Shwedagon pagoda
The safe did not work even after the battery change. The towel rail is the bathroom is coming away from the wall. The drawer near the fridge door does not close.
I travelled a lot of countries already. While I was doing Asian tour this time, I left something at the hotel and was travelling to other countries already. I like how they manage and correspond on how my things that was left to send back to me.
I like their breakfast and they will do their best to help you with all your daily needs. We feel safe while we are staying at the hotel.
the price
it’s a little rundown and for a few $ more there are way better hotels.
