Grand Beach Inn

This place was terrible. The mattresses were so worn that my husband and I both ended up with back aches. We ate at the restaurant on the property and although the food was good, I ended up in bed for almost two days with food poisoning. They state free Wi-Fi, but they must have bad routers because the signal does not reach the rooms. When I mentioned this to the office staff they stated that they do have Wi-Fi but it randomly works. This would have been fine, I could live without Wi-Fi for a week but i had made a commitment to do work during the week and now my boss is not going to be happy. I was told I could bring all my work down and sit near the office in order to get my work done. The place is very run down. It does have potential but it looks like the owner likes to save a buck. We have been visiting OOB for the past 30 years and this was the worse place we have ever stayed.

The beach is right across the street! This place is a healthy walk from all the action. This means it has a sweet spot on the beach that isn’t crowded and has the pretty, soft sand. There is a frequent $2 shuttle to the pier, restaurants and palace playland. There’s a bar/restaurant downstairs with music. We did not feel noise was an issue in our 3rd floor spot. As far as cleanliness, the staff is always around cleaning. It appears many rooms have been renovated. Ours was but it’s a hotel by the beach at a reasonable price, so it’s not a fancy pristine place but it’s pleasant. Beds were soft enough, new mattresses. We brought our 9 month old Havanese and there were spots for walking him. Others had dogs at the outdoor restaurant, not too many, just a couple here and there.

Covered parking area was helpful when loading our stuff in the rain and the room we stayed in was very spacious. The bathroom in our room was very bright and the lobby had extra coffee pods we were able to resupply our room with.

The room was clean, just old. The down side was trouble finding parking on site if you came back late. We literally got the last spot.

Left a day early because they are not gay friendly! Thats all.

My Husband and I booked the room for the weekend because it was our 10th year wedding anniversary. The location was perfect for us, however the motel staff shut our keys to the room down an hour before (check-out at 10am), so we had to get the keys reactivated just to get back in the room to get the rest our belongings, so it was inconvenient asfar as that goes. But other that that, they were friendly or at least the cleaning staff were, but I wouldn't book again for this place if it were the only available place to stay...

This is an excellent place to stay if you want to be close to the ocean but out of the crazy crowds of downtown. It is dated outside but the room were very clean, the staff was excellent and you can't beat the location to the beach!

Overall was looking to sorta save on money since it was only a single night away, definitely paid for what I got. Got placed in a room on the third floor. The outside walkway on the third floor had low spots/divits with cones on them and caution tape on the railing. The room itself wasn’t terrible but the lights did not work, the beside table lamp and alarm clock were not plugged in simply because there were no outlets behind the table/beds. The bed mattresses sank in the middle when you laid on them and the shower head had a very weak pressure. The upside was the pool and the little bar/restaurant area although they were always packed. Would stay again but definitely would pay for anything other than the standard room

I didn’t like that they now have 3 gazebos taking up space in the pool area, that they charge extra per hour for guests to use!! Just put out more lounge chairs and maybe some umbrellas

While the rooms were spacious and overall the value for the price was good, there were minor inconveniences that disrupted our stay. First off, we did not get to check in on time because our room was not ready. There was a dying battery in the key mechanism causing it to set off an alarm. The refrigerator was not working and had to be repaired. The most frustrating aspect was the exterior lights to the complex that remained on all night. It was so bright in our room that I was unable to sleep most evenings. A sleep mask helped slightly.

Great family vacation spot, close to beach, trolley stops out front. Bar and pool are huge added bonus and live music til 8. Rooms are ok, the kitchen was a great upgrade. Beds and bathroom are basic but with young kids it made it easy. Staff very accommodating.

Nothing about this hotel stands out. While the employees are nice the accommodations are meh.
Dated, spares and in need of a serious updating and revamp. Close access to the beach and shuttle buses.
Bed was like a granite slab. Furnishings looked like something from a dorm room.
If you are just looking for a place to crash it is ok. Do not expect anything other than the basics.

My room had black mold!! Pool was dirty, rooms were dirty! Visible stains on sofa and bedding. The mound of trash at the dumpster was disgusting. The staff were nice but property should be condemned.
