A special lunch with Eli
Pros:

We were beautifully looked after by Eli who we had met the previous year and had a very personalised experience . She was absolutely wonderful apart from being so exotic .
Always one of our New York favourites

Not “the standard” at all.
Pros:

The hotel needs some serious work in upkeep. At this price point, the faucet in the tub should work, the AC should keep the room cool and hooks for your towels shouldn’t fall out of the wall. When the front desk offers to bring up your food from a delivery, they should bring it. You shouldn’t have to call them theee times and get your cold pizza half an hour later.

Amazing hotel!
Pros:

The Standard, High Line is an incredibly stylish and unique hotel right in the heart of the Meatpacking District. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer unbeatable, sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River. It is also in a perfect location for walking to local spots like the High Line park and Chelsea Market.
Also, because of the lively clubs and nightlife surrounding the building, the rooms can get quite noisy late into the night.

Perfect!
Pros:

The Standard is an iconic hotel, but what really makes it special is the team. Everyone, from Juan at the front desk to the Grill staff and the housekeeping team, is genuinely kind and welcoming.

It was a pleasure to return and see the beautifully refreshed rooms. The staff always goes above and beyond, whether it's an early check-in, package handling, late check-out, or accommodating room preferences. And those views.
A fantastic stay, as always. One of my favorite places in Manhattan.

Don't trust the associates
Pros:

Beware of this place, it looks cute but it doesn't live up to expectations. We reserved a queen deluxe room after speaking on the phone with the reservation office and being assured that an early check-in would be possible to offer rest after travel and to accommodate an injury my wife is recovering from. We knew it would'nt be available immediately, but we were told to call once we arrived in the city (6am) and to check in. We did and were told one would be available when we arrived at the hotel. We waited from 9:15 till 2:40 to check in -- more than 5 hours. They kept saying "soon" and "it'll be ready in a minute" but these were lies. If they'd only been honest with us and said "check in is at 3" then we could've made alternate plans. One of the associates even teased that my wife must love going so fast on her scooter -- to the contrary, she has a broken ankle and getting around even with the scooter is painful and slow.

Our other major issues with the room were that it was absolutely not accessible for someone with an injury, way too small and cramped and the high bathtub was dangerous to step into. The shower and bathtub was adjacent to the main bed but there was no privacy screen, just a huge window. The couch in the room was a joke, there are more comfortable seats to be found at the NYC bus stops, and if you go, make sure to bring an extension cable so you can reach an outlet to plug your phone in.

The view was nice and the room service food was good, but we deeply regretted booking a reservation here and trusting the associates we spoke to over the phone when making the reservation and at the front desk when we arrived.

Pay for the views, location and vibes!
Pros:

Location was amazing, as were the views. Plus staff were super friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Room furnishings were a tad old, and room was tiny, though everything was clean and comfy. For the 4-figure a night price tag, I was expecting a bit more luxe.

Great stay at the Standard High Line
Pros:

The Standard High Line is relatively reasonable given its spectacular views of the Hudson River, which were particularly memorable over the 4th of July with all the tall ships and other vessels sailing up and down the Hudson. Highly recommend for a special occaison.

Great hotel to enjoy the sights and experiences in Chelsea NYC
Pros:

Our double room was well-equipped with a spectacular view out its floor-to-ceiling window. Location in the center of all that the Chelsea neighborhood has to offer. The mind-bending video that played in the elevator was more intriguing than the art we saw at the Whitney Biennial

Cons:

The $35 resort fee popped up after I completed the booking.com booking. And what made this turd in the punchbowl even more gnarly was the 12% hotel tax added and another 3% (or whatever) High Line tax.
Also free breakfast came with terms and conditions that awarded a credit toward the meal.
Both symptoms of the loss in translation/transmission of the booking details and amenities that fall upon the property and booking.com

Guests since 2010
Pros:

We have been staying at The Standard High Line since 2010, when it first opened. We have great memories there and love the location in the meatpacking district, steps away from the High Line, Chelsea Market, Little Island, and short walk to Greenwich, SoHo, and shopping on Broadway. The hotel is definitely quirky, but we love that! If you’re looking for style, this Roman Williams designed space hits the mark. If you’re looking for a “standard” hotel room, it may better to stay somewhere else. Nothing wrong with predictability, but this gives you a bit more to look at and experience. Maybe better for couples than families, as some of the bathrooms have peek-a-boo showers. The Standard Grill has great, consistent food, and the hotel always has new programming on every visit. We love it!

Rude staff and smelly bedrooms.
Cons:

The rooms smelled musty like it was never aired out and the carpet was unclean.

The beds are almost touching the dusty carpet.

Hotel staff was extremely rude and abrupt to my husband and I.

The hotel promised to refund us due to us being unable to stay the night at their dusty accommodations however they are consistently denying our refund when booking, com reach out to them.

Dishonesty company, rude staff, musty and dusty bedrooms.
Worst experience ever had on my travels.
