Anilana Nilaveli

It seems that visiting this resort in the past used to be a mavelous experience but everything has changed nowadays... Not sure about the reason, because north is still under development, but reality shows that Anilana was left apart and zero maintenance has been applied to the facilities there...
I was there a couple of weeks ago, leading a tour composed by 13 people, and everything was in darkness in our arrival... No power/electricity, bar empty, super hot inside the facilities, outdoor deck was ruined, swimming pools super dirty and green water, electronic systems to access the rooms were not working (they asked us to leave everything open or to to reception to ask for opening our room with a master key...; imagine 13 people asking individually for opening their rooms at any time)...
I talked to the owner and she tried to convince me to staybut what I could only expect for my clients was room in a new place to end our almost 3 weeks tour. And we got it at Cinnamon Trinco Blu. Super recommended!

Cleaning service good.I went theire with my one years old son and 4 years old elder doughter .they enjoy lot..they provid seperete kids menu for my kids without any charge..

Nice place to stay , Excellent service, the staffs are so friendly and the manager Mr Fayaz made all the arrangements easier , the foods are tasty , rooms are well cleaned , they have a private beach with a good view and close to the pigeon island

Of course this was a good property by then but after the pandemic now it's a run down one with the recent management change. As a travel agent I had a guest from UK, whom wanted to relax in Trinco beach for about 10 nights and accommodated him in this property since it was in an ideal location for them to relax.

However once they checked in to the property they noticed that the hotel amenities were not in good conditions. Since every one should aware of the hotels what you all planning to visit should know about this.

Pool tiles were broken and can lead to a major injury . Guest have lodged a complaint regarding health and safety, as an agent we did change the hotel immediately. Attached are images what we received. Of course they have upgraded my client to a higher category room and after advising the hotel to change the hotel to their sister hotel in Pasikudah, client did not wish to stay there either.

Since it was a long stay, upon the request made we paid 50% of the total value to secure the booking, and after a months time received 03 nights stay refund holding 01 night stay refund by putting front their cancellation policy to safe guard themselves having the said issues.

Before you all to select this property, please check whether the amenities are in good condition, power generator status, Bar facilities, in room phone call facility, coz they had not none. + management spoils clients head when they decide to move out for another hotel in the same region.

It was absolutely perfect. We‘ve been there in difficult days for Sri Lanka. So we were the only guest in this big hotel. In the beginning it was very strange for us, but the staff was so friendly, kind, attentive and talented, so we immediately fell in love with this beautiful place. The staff let us feel like we were in paradise. Everyday the kitchen team made us an absolutely delicious menu. For us it was really the best food here in Sri Lanka. A big thank you to the chef and his team and also for all the others. And thank you to Cruze for the drinks. Our three days and nights there we will never forget. We already miss this talented staff and our time in Anilana.

Anilana Nilaveli is an excellent location right in front of the Pigeon island. I was happy to spend two nights at Anilana Nilaveli & another 2 nights at their sister property Anilana Pasikuda. Their service was great and my son and I was looked after very well. I specifically enjoyed the night time calypso music which arranged at Anilana Nilaveli. Hope to visit Anilana Hotels soon.

Spent 2 nights at this fabulous hotel. The food and service was excellent. Very entertaining and friendly staff. A special thank you to Mr. Trayan for his great hospitality and support in all ways. Keep up the good work guys. Cheers!!

We are staying in a studio room, which is "the highest room" category at Anilana Nilaweli, I'm writing this review while staying at this hotel.

It's sad to see the situation of this hotel, i think the owners / Managers here are simply not bothers, we understand the struggle in the leisure industry of Sri Lanka, we had easter attacks and then covid 19, leisure industry never recovered yet there were plenty of locals just like us who were traveling travelling around, giving plenty some business for hotels.

I feel situation in this hotel has little to do with covid or Easter sunday bombing, it's a clear case of management ignorance and lack of attention to detail, I don't see anyone running a proper business here.

This entire property badly maintained, there was a dangerous wasp colony concrete column on the 2nd floor, one throw of a stone or a bird accidentally land on it will create dangerous situation for all the guests. management is simply not bothered about it at all.

Entire greenery in this property is turning brown (grass is nearly dead in some areas), there are tons and tons of fallen leaves in the garden, lawns were not cut, unwanted bushes/trees are out growing, yet the management is not bothered.

We checked in to room no. 201, the AC was out of order and we waited for about 5 hours, then we were given a new room, room no. 101, they said the room was a ocen view studio (highest room category in our hotel) at the time of booking, i don't see the ocean from my room, all i see is a dead garden and bunch of tree tops. ( i will be attaching images for your records).

Room has all discolored, ugly furniture, it's like they were reused after a tsunami or left out in outside in the rain and suddenly taken inside after about 6-7 months, bathroom has ugly toilet seats, the water tap in the wash basin is sprinkling water in all directions (because it is blocked and never cleared), TV receiver is glued in the bottom of the TV and it's kept of falling.

The curtain were ugly, the glass windows were not properly cleaned (you may find them all in my photos). it's a real disappointment.

There are two swimming pools in this hotel, we used both of them, none of them have filters operating when we were there, water was murky (we couldn't see the bottom) and (check out my photo) there were algae growing on the side walls and the bottom of the pool. (check my photo - brown algae), this is a clear indication of lack of filtration, improper circulation of water. It's quite dangerous to have a pool like this for guests, i don't understand why this management is not even bothered?

Variety of food served is not great, yet there was nothing wrong, we were served peppered beef twice for two consecutive days for dinner, well that's ok considering the other agonies in this hotel.

We ordered french fries from in-room dining, received something we could called a brown version of french fries, portion was huge and horribly burned pieces were found. It was quite disappointing...

So i inquired from the front desk about the GM, the man who should be in charge of this property, named was mentioned and yet i did not see that figure visiting any of the guests. I did not see the head chef visiting the guests to ask their opinion about the meals.

There are bunch of minor staffs desperately trying to keep things under control here to the best of their capacity, while i feel management is not bothered to uplift any standard, they simply ignore everything, things they can see with their own eyes...

if i can see these issues as highlighted in my photos, why can't they see this... over to you dear management of Anilana and Anilana Nilaweli, as one of your customer, i urge you to critically look in to all issues highlighted, you are robbing guests money as this experience is one of our worst up to now...

Had a pleasant stay. Friendly staff. The buffet was good and the rooms were clean. Clean beach and beautiful view. Recommend for a family visit. The dinner area was really beautiful in the night among the trees and lighting. (Traveled in 2018)

Nice place we visited first time for a lunch first and we came again for diner !
Beautiful spot at Nilavelli , service was great ! We were alone but all the staff took care of us ! 2 big swimming pool , cooking in front of us ! We appreciated at diner owner who came for presentation .
We recommand this place at every season

If you are planning to go to Nilaveli..this is the best. This place has beautiful & clean beach.

Anilana was selected as the final destination of our honeymoon tour and the stay was absolutely perfect. We stayed 2 nights in pool chalet. All the staff is very friendly & gave us a supreme survive under this covid 19 conditions.The hotel arranged a beach dinner for us and the experience was great with their delicious food. We visited the pigeon island and did snorkeling with a guide from wild life arrange by the hotel which I recommend for everyone to experiance. If anyone is going to select Trinco for the next a vacation this is the ideal place to stay.

Actually it was not me but my children have chosen Anilana Nilaveli. What a good selection was that....

From the time we visited they gave us a great service. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful.

They have arranged a beach dinner for us and it was a great experience for our children.

As a medical officer I must say that I noticed all the staff members were following preventive measures for Covid-19.

The hotel is perfectly situated on the famed Nilaveli Beach with Pigeon Island, a favourite snorkeling location and national park, a short boat ride away. The sea is as calm as a swimming pool where one can wade in 100m or more during the season. You can also see fish jumping about you.
The staff was very welcoming, friendly, helpful and efficient from the senior management to the junior staff, which made my stay pleasant, safe and homely.
The tables in the dining area were well spaced with good ventilation, especially important for these times. I also used in-room dining and was happy to see the meals delivered were properly sealed, which was good protocol.
The Studio room and bathroom were spacious with all the amenities one could require. The hotel provided an additional table and chair for the room for me to use as my workplace during the day.
My friends joined me at the hotel half-way into my trip and we all had a wonderful time. I look forward to my next visit.

Amidst the Covid situation we travelled to Trincomalee and stayed at the Anilana Nilaveli, for the 2nd time. It was great to visit again and stay in this beautiful property and with their friendly staff with all the precautions for covid situation.

We stayed at the Pool Chalets this time and it was spacious and airy and perfect as the rooms open up to the pool and beach!! we loved it!!

I tried the Spa for the first time and it was super experience and well worth it!! a Must try!!

Food was good as always! And the staff are great!

Our family stayed in the hotel on a full board basis on the 3rd and 4th Oct. The staff starting from manager to stuarts to chefs were very friendly and guided us to make our stay a memorable one. Special rates were given to us with executive services which made our stay a special one. We highly recommend all travelers worldwide to have stay in this hotel.

Excellent management and front office service. Really nice place for family vacation. My child had a very good time in Anilana Nilaveli. Beach also can use without any doubt. We recommend pool view chalet for family.

A last minute booking made us a route to this place located near to nilaveli beach. From first day onward we didn't feel any of strangeness with the hotel. Because all of guy of crew is very kind and sometimes we felt we are in home. they give us the best service of them in every minute and smile is on their faces every time. very helpful and its feel like all at our the finger tip.
Although the room service, amenities, arrangements and the surrounding keep very clean and tide. the view of the hotel is really nice with the experience which we cold have easily. Pigeon island was one of great experience we had with snorkeling, swim with Sea turtles & Shark. Also there are so many activities to do without staying in a single room.
Also Hotel crew were very helpful if we need anything or support they delivered that with a great heart of pleasure. Thanks that wonderful hospitality given by you and keep that in a good way to feel same for others. And again thanks for the GM Mr. Indrajith Kumara who is a nice gentlemen we met and the crew.
Other than that the most admirable thing was the food which was amazing (when you go there pls try the "Buffalo Chicken Wings" which is the best of best ever had in Sri Lanka. thanks Chef and the crew for the unforgettable meal.

We had a wonderful stay at Anilana. They were so kind to upgrade us to a room with sea view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is just amazing with view of pigeon island and fantastic beach. Room was large , clean and comfortable. Would definitely visit again. Thank you Anilana .
