VERY BAD SERVICE AND TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF FOOD IS TERRIBLE UNCOMFORMTABLE PLACE DIRTY ROOMS WE ORDERED BREAKFAST NO MILK WITH COFFEE COLD EGGS NO ONE LISTEN TO OUR COMPLAINTS I DONT KNOW THAT THE PLACE LOOKS TO OLD AND OVER USED LACK OF TRAINING
The beautiful place has done a 360 turnaround with its customer service. The staff were warm and pleasant, went above and beyond to make my stay very memorable, the food was delicious and the amenities were very satisfactory. The room was clean and with much improved maintenance from my last stay. Will be returning to the same hotel anytime I touch down in Abuja. Highly recommended
Had the pleasure of visiting this hotel for a reunion with friends. First off, the parking space is huge and can accommodate as many cars as guests(slight exaggeration). I think accessibility to the place is easy using google map. Security is also available. For facilities, the hotel has enough. It has 3 halls for occasions, a lounge that is tastefully furnished, a gym, swimming pool with outside bar and Wi-Fi is available. The rooms are tastefully decorated though becoming worse for wear. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Shout out to Michael the manager. Their restaurant also belts out both local and continental dishes. In all, a good place to stay in abuja
Avoid this hotel. The hotel has terrible service and the food is bad, both breakfast and dinner. You want eggs for breakfast, pay extra, you want milk, sorry only powder.
Hotel rooms have phones but they dont work, internet is mostly not working or slow. The hotel is 8 years old yet feels old and poorly maintained.
I would not stay again
Rooms are dirty, hot water is a luxury there, and water in general a scarce commodity. After booking and paying in advance, my guests were turned back at night, their rooms reallocated. Horrible meals
yeah..... sandralia hotel, is one of the hotels that I have been longing to spend my holiday, and I thank God I made it to the place, surely I enjoy my stay in the hotel, I like the kind of music been a play on the walkway, their gym nice and their pool is big enough for anyone to swim.
No Hot water, Ac not functioning optimally, the curtains look so old, no bathroom floor towel available, breakfast not tasty or diverse. The rooms are below standard for such a big place! I will not be back!
The air conditioning wasn't working and the maintenance kept insisting it was ok. WIFI was epilept Service was very slow but staff were quite pleasant.
Despite the first positive impression of an interesting Rococo-style hotel with spacious rooms, my advise is to avoid the place. On the first night, during an electrical outage, the generator stopped working for two hours, making it impossible to stay in the rooms because of the unbearable heat. Internet worked two days out of six. I did not have hot water for two days, and one day there was no water pressure making it almost impossible to shower. The restaurant food was excessively expensive. Service was poor (staff seemed nice, just not trained/unable to manage the situation).
The place needs serious maintenance.
I did not give one star only because the manager made a few efforts to fix some problems and offer compensation after insisting for days.
By far one of the worst hotels I've had to stay in and have an event in. The hotel has been managed poorly.
The hotel staff are rude and actually smell. The elevator is basically a death trap.
The guests we logged had to take cold showers during the rainy season and there was no apology issued.
The food was manageable but it could be better.
During our meeting, we kept being interrupted by the group in the hall beside us that was having a midday religious session and upon our request for them to please reduce their voices, we were called Demons. Even after speaking to hotel management, nothing was done.
The only word for this place is fustration! Elevator kept jamming, Food is absolute disaster! and a pool and gang of fly's actually made a home for themselves right above the buffet table!!! and the staff claimed they new nothing about it, Heater in the bathroom not working, rooms not worth the price in anyway (and it is very pricey) Alot of noice hits your room from the pool area cause of parties they are always hosting, damn what a terrible place!!!
I lodged here over a weekend. The hotel has beautiful facade and that is about all there is. Ok something more, the breakfast was good. The first room I checked into had issues, bath water outlet was bad, shower wasn’t working well, I had to hold the knob down for the shower to work. On request, the room was changed.
The second room had a faulty air conditioner but thank God it was fixed and I thought bliss had come until Sunday night. I had planned an early night as I had an early morning flight to catch; only for a till dawn pool party to hold that Sunday night and guess what, the party ran into the night and that murdered sleep for us.
The staff tried to apologize but what does apology do in the face of such inconvenience?
I promised myself not to make this mistake again.
Services and food are appalling here. The furnishings and facilities are beautiful and new but doesn't get beyond that. They foods are not tasty. Ask me, it is over-priced. We even had an experience where we booked a double room with connecting doors in advance, and we were offered only two separate rooms with no connections at all, they had no records of the right booking.
So I was required to stay here for three weeks while working on a project. Whilst the building and amenities are quite good, services and maintenance could have been much better.
My bathroom was leaking water from the roof and from under the wash basin, I complained until they agreed to change my room. I went to see the room seedy room I was to move to and decided I was better off in my old room.
Housekeeping was terrible. I had to call and wait endlessly to have tissue paper or towels delivered to my room on a number of occasions. One night there was extended power cut and I had to use a candle, the fellow that cleaned the room the next day decided that cleaning out the melted candle wax from the saucer I placed it in was not in his job description and left it there.
The tiny "fridge" they had in the rooms hardly did any cooling; little cockroaches were quite comfortable running around inside it!
To cap it all, there was no internet access.
You can read my other reviews, I usually give positive and constructive reviews, but not this time.
I've been to 70 countries and stayed at a large number of hotels, never experienced such bad service. Everyday after cleaning, you will find something that was not replaced or provided, such as towels or water ...etc. My only analogy for such behavior is to make you call the staff, they will bring you what you need (a towel) and tip them - i think it is a strategy to receive tip. I did gave tip and didn't face any challenge until the shift was changed. We were staying there as a large group and almost every single one of us had this similar experience. Even reception (except for one or two), gave very bad service. After 4 days of going everyday to reactivate my room card, i suggested to the receptionist, "maybe you should activate it for the period of my stay?". She asked when do you leave, i gave a date and there we go, my card was activated and never had to go back (sure after 4 days of this painful discussion about the quality of the cards and if i place it next to my mobile).
Almost every service you need, can happen in only two ways: tip or big argument.
To be fair, the building is quite nice, but the service is awful and that makes the difference.
One last serious note; we returned once after midnight and knocked on the back door, before leaving from that same door we explained to the security that we will return in 3 hours please open for us, and he said ok. When we returned, he said "sorry my boss took the keys and said i cannot bring you in from here, turn around the fence". So we go as directed to find out that he is leading us through the dark slums next door, that was a life threatening experience. We were lucky that we decided to walk back to the street (we were 3 men) and found a kind person to drive us around the slums and back to the hotel.
Sorry for the long review. This is my first negative review. But honestly, every other comment on towels or service provided by other reviewers is highly likely true as I experienced it. I gave them 2 stars only because of the infrastructure and the very few workers who were trying their best.
Pros: large, quiet rooms with comfortable beds
Cons: no internet, very poor breakfast (only dinner foods such as rice, stews and curries- no toast, fruit, fresh coffee or eggs), electricity went out every half hour, nothing in the bathroom except a half used bottle of shampoo (not even soap) and one smelly grey bath towel. Checkout took an hour
My visit to Sandralia hotel this time was for a 3 day workshop held by my office. Firstly, there were too many mosquitos in the meeting room, then the food was not tastey and made me constipated 2 of the three days we were at the hotel. Again, the staff serving us tea breaks were not responsive to the service.. we had to follow up for the to clear up the service area. There is need for regular fumigation, serving fresher food and staff training and orientation.
There is not much to say about this hotel: stay away from it if you can.
Elaborate? It is pathetic. has crappy rooms, with a piece of soap as their only amenity. Although a new hotel it boasts outdated posh style environment with "dimmed" lights (power saving for sure) all certainly thanks to the horrendously poor management team, who champion each category of worst ever hospitality prize; do look further, don't stop here!
Do stay away from the restaurant too. they offer some gruesome fish, and overcooked bicycle chicken which, to make the disaster complete, is to no one's surprise overpriced too.
Went for lunch with business colleagues. Did not lodge in the hotel. Customer experience with the services rendered by the stewards and the kitchen zero. the Nigerian dish of pounded yam and okro soup was tasteless while the bill was heavy. Looks on the faces of staff seen around showed some kind of de-motivation. Hotel has wide spaces alright and may look breathtaking at night but i am not sure that the finishing looked so wonderful in the daytime
Good hotel. Tastefully decorated and furnished. Thre is a swimming pool and outdoor games like volleyball and football which are played by the pool. There is agym and also halls for occasions. The rooms are spacious and tastefully equipped. Staff is friendly and helpful.
