Simple But Worth Noting
Pros:

Your great front desk hostess (unfortunately I don't remember her name) was so hospitable which made us feel very welcomed. She greeted us with a smile each time we entered through the doors.

Cons:

The one thing that I didn't really like was that on checkout day, the cleaner were sitting outside of the room basically the entire time until I checked out. She wasn't rude or anything but I felt like I was being a bit rushed and uncomfortable.

I also didn't like that the water wasn't made available all day like the coffee.

It was a convenient, clean and cozy stay.
Pros:

Clean new-looking facility, nice landscaping with trees in the parking lot and 2 waiting benches. Nice dining area that is colorful with windows for natural light. Good hot breakfast and continental breakfast. Clean room with private closet and extra hangars on the wall. Spacious bathroom.

Cons:

It would have been nice to have 2 different types of meats on the hot breakfast bar.

Ineficient receptionist that made us wait for 2 hours

The receptionist Ms. Nesha was very ineficient. We arrived at midnight from a very long intercontinental flight and we could not enter the rooms until 2 hours later. We booked two rooms because we are travelling with our four kids and when we wanted to check in, the receptionist told us that booking.com had only paid one room on our behalf, which was not true because we had the confirmation of the payment with us for both rooms. We even showed her the print out version of our booking but she refused to let us in. We had to call booking at 1 in the morning and when someone finally pick up the phone the “misunderstanding” between them was solved and we could enter the two rooms after waking up my kids that by that time they had fallen asleep in the reception of the hotel. I am not sure what the problem was, but we had paid both rooms long before our arrival and the receptionist did not help us contact booking at all. We had to make the long international call and we had to be very proactive to get our beds while the receptionist was just sitting and repeating the sentence “we don’t deal with third parties, it is your problem to solve”. Not helpful at all 😞We stayed there just for one night and because check out time is 11. We could only have the room from 2:00 am to 11:00am. We left the hotel still being tired!

Outstand in all respects
Pros:

Our recent stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Shelby, NC, was outstanding. The front desk and breakfast staff provided world-class service. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I would like to recognize Ms. Kassie at the front desk and Ms. Llinda, who works in the breakfast area, for their positive attitudes towards customers and their excellent service. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Shelby.

Pros:

EXTRA convenience to where we we going to.

Cons:

Need to have on website about only taking cards. I booked with a card but withdrawal cash out from the bank to pay with.
Had to run to a store buy a prepaid card and THEN WAIT. The money didn't even show up for over an hour even though I had just pd cash. (Not Hotel fault)
