I'd pass and try another place next time.
Pros:

Impressive building in a fantastic location. Right beside the mall makes things super convenient. The lobby looks really impressive when you come in.

The size of the room was huge! The bed was clean and comfortable.

Cons:

It feels like the owners have tried to relax the upkeep of the building. Our thermostat didn't work in our room and no matter what we set the AC to it blew cold air full on. (Until we turned the system completely off).

The fridge in our room was broken. We were impressed that when we called the front desk someone was there within 15 min to replace the fridge.

The shower and bathroom in our room was not so great. Mold filled the grout lines. Ewwe!

The coffee shop on the fourth floor is where the breakfast is served. The buffet was decent. Food was ok. The upkeep in the coffee shop was disappointing.

Staff were really not friendly or welcoming. We appreciated they spoke English, but no e were particularly welcoming or friendly.

Reasonable option
Pros:

Ideally I would like to give this a 7.5 rating but that isn’t possible under the Booking.com scoring system. The hotel is great on a number of levels, spacious rooms with large beds, extensive breakfast selection, very friendly attentive staff, great location (walking distance to central areas). Sadly though we found it all a bit spartan and uninspiring plus the bathroom needed a deep clean around all the edges and corners.

A wonderful stay at the Aria Gajayana, Malang, worth coming back to.
Pros:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aria Gajayana. The rooms were both spacious, clean and comfy. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Beds were very comfortable. The ensuite and wardrobes were of a good size and well situated opposite each other. The price was excellent considering that breakfast was included and although we did not use it the laundry service was well priced. Breakfast was similar yet different each day and always delicious. The food was locally oriented but recognisable and delicious to all. The pool was perfect for the climate and we enjoyed an afternoon swim and picnic. Tables and chairs are placed in the shade and you can bring your own picnic or have food brought to you from the restaurant. The restaurant caters for lunch and dinner too at Malang prices but we often ate out occasionally enjoying a delicious club sandwich with a Bintang at the end of a day. The Hotel is next to the Olympic Mall which is large and has many known stores. It is most convenient for doing shopping getting day to day "supplies" or finding a nice spot to dine. We occasionally walked the mall and ate one night at Sushi Tei.

Cons:

Depending on the room location the one of the mosques nearby can be disturbing. Wardrobe could have had more hangers and/or shelves. In addition, the pool is divided into two sections a shallow section for kids and a deeper section for adults. Getting out of the adult section can be difficult especially for older persons, like me.

Pros:

I honestly dont know where to begin. Amazing staff, amazing location, best beds ever, great price and best buffet breakfast in town. I wont be staying at any other hotel in Malang. Thank you and see you in a few weeks :)

Pros:

Gute Ausstattung, großes Zimmer. Schöne Aussicht. Frühstück mit viel Auswahl, auch an süßem Gebäck.

Cons:

Erreichbarkeit für Fußgänger schlecht. Kaffee beim Frühstück nicht für das Hotel angemessen.
