E' sttao inutile prenotare così in anticipo .
It’s was close to the station and easy for us to move around
Check out was early 10
Pulizia, gentilezza e cortesia dello staff, posizione. Ciabattine in dotazione! Materasso comodissimo.
My experience at Hotel Cantoria was ruined by the most unprofessional and aggressive staff member I have ever encountered.
The male receptionist (on duty early morning) refused to take a card for the city tax, forcing me out into a rainstorm at dark early morining to find an ATM. I was locked out in the rain and my finger was badly injured by the hotel’s heavy iron gate. None of this would have happened if they hadn't forced me to go out for cash.
The most disgusting part? After seeing my injury and realizing I couldn't get cash, he finally processed the card payment with a bad attitude. Instead of apologizing for the injury or the trouble, he was hostile and threatened to call the police because I was upset.
The hotel’s response is just as unprofessional as their service. nobody informed me at check-in that the city tax had to be paid in cash. This is a complete failure of communication on their part. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, the management has chosen to post a snarky, condescending reply and launch personal attacks against me.
The location and setup of this hotel are incredibly sketchy. It’s hidden in a cramped, narrow alleyway, and the reception is confusingly located on the 5th floor. The entrance is completely unprofessional—you have to wait outside a heavy iron gate for someone else to exit just to get a chance to enter the building. There is no proper access control or clear signage. For a solo traveler, this environment felt unsafe and poorly managed from the very beginning.
The service is non-existent, the breakfast is terrible, and the staff is power-tripping. Save yourself the trouble and the potential physical harm—book somewhere else in Florence. This place is a disgrace to Italian hospitality.
nothing
As a female solo traveler, I was bullied, and physically injured by the male receptionist at Hotel Cantoria.
Knowing I had a flight to catch and it was pouring rain at dawn, he maliciously refused my card payment for the city tax (only €12!), forcing me to go out into the rain twice to find an ATM.They put a notice on the front desk but I was never notified that I needed to pay the city tax by cash when I checked in. He saw me struggling with heavy luggage and an umbrella, yet showed zero empathy.
While trying to navigate their heavy, dangerous iron gate in the rain after being locked out, my finger was crushed and is now severely swollen and painful. The most disgusting part? Once he saw I couldn't get cash, he processed my credit card immediately with a terrible attitude. If the machine was available all along, why force a guest into the rain twice!!!
When I spoke up, he threatened to call the police. STAY AWAY if you want to stay safe and be treated with basic human respect. My "stress level" was a direct result of your staff’s hostility.Having a notice doesn't excuse a total lack of flexibility. You admitted you have a working card machine. Forcing a guest into a rainstorm over 12 Euros, only to "kindly" accept the card later, is not an act of kindness. If you could take the card, you should have done it the first time I asked. You dismissed my injury by saying you "had nothing to do with it." As a hotel, you have a duty of care. Your rigid and unnecessary demands directly placed me in a hazardous situation (handling luggage and an umbrella in the rain at an iron gate) that led to my injury. Intimidation is not just physical contact; it is an aggressive attitude against a distressed guest who was simply asking for a reasonable payment method.Telling a female traveler that she "isn't prepared" to travel alone and needs a "companion" is offensive and personal attack!
