I enjoyed the spa
I got fined £100 for the car park! I'd been before and never had to pay for the car park. Apparently the rules have changed and now the residents must pay £10. I didn't know about it, no one told us the rules have changed. No one asked if we had payed when we were leaving or asked us if we had seen the new signs. When we called and asked for help with the appeal - the receptionist and the manager were very unpleasant and said it was all our fault as we should read the signs- they are all over the car park. I'm never going back and will tell all friends not to bother as well
good spa facilities
The food was over seasoned and very salty. Couldn't eat it.
Size of room and the spar
?
Breakfast not up to standard as to what paid
Having to pay £10.20 to park the car when the hotel is isolated. Dinner menu poor, more like a McDonalds, chips with everything!
Bathroom shower curtain was split and damaged in places. Otherwise bathroom was ok.
Charge you 10£ per night to park - Ring Go app, on site, don’t get it!!!!!!
Human body fluids on bed runner, bath not clean (draining for the basin and bath terrible), - late check in after a 12 hour shift - no time to complain.
Overall - this room needs a deep clean, I won’t mention what I found behind the bed when I pulled I out to sort the cover…
The location , and the use of the spa.
Parking charges as it’s the hotels own land and not NCP I think parking should be free.
They take 50.00 holding fee
Upon check in
Have been coming here for many years, but preferred the ambiance and staff when it was under The Best Western umbrella
They have introduced a parking fee of £10 per 24 hours I was unaware and was hit with a hefty £60 fine for my overnight stay. Very disappointing that staff didn’t mention it when checking in as it came in to force two weeks before my stay.
Nice hotel with good facilities and the food onsite is good too, very relaxing stay .
The staff were all friendly and polite and helpful.
The swimming pool area could do with a bit more of a deep clean some loose and green floor tiles in the lounge/conservatory area.so a bit of bleach and a deck brush and some new grouting required. The hotel is a bit out of the way and the bus service isn't great so taxi is better or drive if you bring a car, not much to do in the surrounding area or pub/ restaurants so bear this in mind, but the food was good in the hotel.
Staff were friendly
Hotel and spa appeared quite run down and tired ...
Room facilities were very basic and not what you would expect
The building is impressive. Tucked away and a bit outside Cambridge, it’s the perfect place for escaping the busy town. Thoroughly enjoyed the staff, all very friendly and professional. The facilities are included in the package when you stay at the hotel which is a nice touch. We’ve enjoyed the breakfast included in the offer, with a very good selection of savoury dishes to choose from the menu and a little buffet of morning pastries, toasts, yoghurt etc. we will definitely go back! Thank you!
The room we stayed was in the barn (which I belie majority of the rooms are). Our floor was squeaking a lot and there was barely any insulation with the level above. We could hear every step from the room above ours. Also, I would’ve liked to be in control of the heating in the room - there was a heater but it never worked as there was no thermostat in the room (perhaps centralised). Lastly, I would’ve preferred a little fridge in the room.
Overall the positive are more than the negative and as mentioned above, I will definitely go back again and again!
Lovely staff as always, food is good, facilities very good and the gym/pool being included is a real plus.
Have stayed here regularly for work travel over the last few years. Was disappointed to learn that upon arrival the hotel has implemented a £10 a night charge for the car park (ringgo). Reception confirmed that if I booked direct they would waive the charge, it seems to be an additional tax on using a site like booking.com.
