Customer service great
I left after 30 minutes and went to another hotel. The place was a filthy, dirty dump. With broken doors, missing window shades, smelled of urine and smoke. The furniture was old and so dirty with burn holes and springs poking out. I found hair all over the bathroom floor. Neither the front or back doir was secure. The grounds were unkept, the patio was filled with drunken people yelling out, when we walked by one guy made a comment about my ring. So unsafe. And when I went back to the office and said I couldn’t stay there due to how dirty it was she said ok. Then when Expedia called to see what happened they said I stayed the entire 4 days. I was checked in somewhere else and it was only day 1. The pictures are not ANYTHING like the place so misleading. Don’t risk your life at this place.
Very old property, but spacious room. Needs tlc badly.
The hotel was close due to the hurricane but the app still booked our room we had to find another hotel that was a hour away and it cost way more we arrived at the other hotel at 2 am u guys should have known that it was closed this was a very hardship on or try
The hotel was very old and dated limited parking and dirty I had to clean the hotel room myself sweep mop and wipe the furniture down.
The property is well established and has a wide range of facilities on site.check in was straightforward and the staff very helpful. The beach is easily accessible at the rear of the property. Extra parking is across the road. Overall the site was quiet. An enjoyable experience.
We have been coming here for years. We have never seen this place in such bad shape.
Cigarette butts were everywhere even in the pool. The grass was very high and sandspurs were everywhere.
The first room we were put in had such an awful smell. We asked to be moved to a different room and they moved us with no issues.
The second room smelled fine but was not very clean. The bottom of our socks got dirty from the floor. The outlets were not very good. Our chargers wouldn't even stay in the sockets.
We tried to sit in one of the chairs and kept feeling like something was biting us but we couldn't see anything.
There are so many other things too both inside and outside the motel.
We checked out early.
Worth the money but really needs some TLC. The staff was great.
Not bad for the price. Clean sheets and bed spread. Fresh paint on the walls. Bathroom not in the greatest shape. Love the little kitchenette area. Not a bad stay, front desk was very helpful. Not a place to spend a week, but a few days would be ok.
The good it’s near to the beach and the room has everything for the confort to the family, cookware, living room etc.
Bad It's a pity that it is very neglected. There is a lot of garbage in the areas.
This is a wonderful location for a vintage property. Just thinking they let maintenance slide during this shoulder season. We love the old , but the old needs paint and chairs and cushions need homes vs being scattered. I get we have had some storms come through, but these are simple fixes. The staff was wonderful!
I knew I wasn't paying a lot, but honestly, very little money has been invested in this property to bring it up to being at least acceptable. The moldy rug on balcony in standing water rendered balcony unusable. Broken vertical blinds, plastic mattress cover under sheet...just a few of the problems. It was clean and in a great location. No odors or bugs.
Hair on the shower wall, dirty shower curtain, paint peeling in the bathroom tub, walls by the front door, stained furniture. Come to find out they are tearing this property down in December. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy.
Priced reasonable, needs updated, can’t complain about the location. Beds comfortable, provided clean towels everyday. Location and pool are great!
Another beautiful stay at the amazing Sands. There was a slight snafu but the mgr was willing to work the situation out with me. The rooms could be cleaner, but I get its a smaller property with few employees.
Historic property right on the beach
Property was not as advertised
If you're coming to this 77yo property looking for shiny perfection, this is not the spot for you. The humans were awesome, view was perfect, pool was comfortable and the sand was steps away allowing an amazing FL sunset to shine thru whilenfloating 8n the pool. They had sand and pool toys/games to borrow, volleyball court and more. It may not be considered "immaculate," but The Sands has so much character and energies. I'm not sure why people write such bad reviews. You're not going to pay so "little" and get a corporate ran place. But you will get a more homey experience and down to earth people. You get what you pay for, but in this case, we definitely came out happier and more calm than expected.. oh! My kid loves they still have keys 😂 he's known nothing but key cards. I wish this treasure could be around forever.
Pool was closed for 2 of our 4 day stay because fecal matter was contaminating the pool water.
Wifi is spotty. TV in bedroom did not work. People outside room loud most of our stay. Parking horrible.
AC is old and probably needs filter changes because our noses were stuffed every morning.
Very very old.
Needs to close as planned to become The Sands by Hilton.
Old florida beachy feel. Love this place . If i absolutely had to list one thing that i dont like is just that the parking is little tuff but even that isnt that bad. Love this place
