Hotel was very clean and you got your drinks brought to you when sunbathing. Breakfast was also amazing
I usually don’t write reviews, but here are a few things I didn’t enjoy:
1. I was at the pool after the bar had closed, so I took a beach towel to my room, planning to return it in the morning when the bar reopened. However, the staff knocked on my door at 9:30 PM asking me to return it. Why at that hour, when I was about to go to bed? Couldn’t they have waited until the morning during room cleaning or when the bar opened? What was the rush?
2. The Wi-Fi would connect for about five seconds and then disconnect repeatedly. I eventually gave up and had to use my own data to access the internet. I was surprised by this it’s 2025, so I didn’t expect such an issue.
3. The shower drain didn’t work properly. It was very slow, and every time I showered, water pooled around my feet and ankles, leaving them covered in bubbles. Also, the bathroom was not soundproof I could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring rooms, which made it feel less private.
4. I don’t know if I was just being paranoid with everything going on, but I got my first case of Bali belly at this hotel. I’m not sure where I caught it, but after three weeks in Bali, this was the place where it finally happened, which made me a bit uneasy given the issues above.
That said, the staff were very kind and helpful, so I don’t blame them. I’m sure these problems are due to hotel management rather than the staff themselves.
Beautiful property, friendly staff, tasty restaurant. I appreciated the luggage service, both for the transport to the room and for storage on the last day. The room, however, was too small and outdated: the door barely locked after two turns of the key, and the bathroom handle kept coming off, we had to call for assistance. The price was excessive considering the room size and, above all, the poor maintenance.
A major negative point: on the hotel’s beach there is an activity rental desk (for masks, bikes, electric scooters) run by a local who behaves rudely and disrespectfully towards tourists who are not interested in his services. He mixes understandable English words with insults in Balinese (which I was able to catch after a while). A disgrace for the hotel and for whoever allows him to work there!
Security also needs improvement: once I climbed over to reach my room faster without passing through reception, and no one noticed anything, it could have been anyone.
We loved our stay! Such a beautiful hotel and amazing staff!
A great hotel compared to other we saw on the Island. Staff great and facilities good.
Stayed for 7 days and loved every minute of it!
Amazing place!
The staff were so lovely, really helpful and the facilities on site are also amazing! The food was really nice and the rooms are really modern, clean and tidy. Would highly recommend booking the villa if you are going to be staying here!
Pearl of Trawangan is a lovely hotel, with a great pool and conveniently located.
Overall, throughly enjoyed our stay at GT
Highly recommended to all
Everything was perfect and the food amazing
We highly recommend
While the hotel's facilities are adequate and its location offers acceptable proximity to the port, the poor service we experienced did not justify the significantly higher price we paid for a supposedly four-star resort. Specifically, the bidet in our assigned room was not functioning. When we reported this, a front office supervisor named Ute was demonstrably dishonest, claiming that all rooms had non-functional bidets due to a 'western style' and offering more toilet tissue as a solution. This excuse proved false when we checked several other rooms of the same type and found their bidets to be working perfectly. Upon confronting Ute with this discrepancy, she continued to deny her initial statement, offering unreasonable excuses and failing to provide any apology or resolution. It was only after escalating the issue to the Manager on duty that we were finally moved to another room with a functioning bidet. The fact that a hotel supervisor lied to keep us in a room with a known issue while others were available is unacceptable.
Despite the convenient location, I cannot recommend this hotel due to the substandard service and lack of transparency. There are likely other establishments in the area that offer a far superior experience for the price.
This place is so good we extended our stay by two nights. Well located next to the beach and around a 5-10 min walk from the party area the hotel has a lot to offer. The pool and beach side facilities are incredible and the staff are so kind and accomodating. Our rooms were lovely and the bed comfortable. Would return in a heartbeat and stay another time if i could!
Overall an OKAY hotel but has drawbacks for the price.
The check-in process was seamless and efficient, allowing me to settle in quickly. The hotel boasts a lovely pool area, which appeared clean and well-maintained—perfect for relaxing. My room was nicely decorated and spacious, and I appreciated that breakfast was included; the food was delicious with a good variety of options. The staff were also incredibly attentive and helpful throughout my stay, making me feel welcomed.
However, there were a couple of issues that impacted my comfort. The air conditioning in my room wasn’t very powerful, which made it difficult to keep cool, especially at night. The biggest disappointment, though, was the bed—it was extremely uncomfortable, with springs poking through the mattress. Unfortunately, this made it hard to get a proper night’s rest, which affected my overall experience.
Despite these drawbacks, the hotel has a lot of great qualities, and with some improvements to the bedding and air conditioning, it could be an a excellent place to stay.
Gili Trawangan is a beautiful little island (walk around the outside of the whole island in under 2 hours), with a lively little town centre with bars, cafes, restaurants, smaller hotels and dive resorts. We thought Pearl of Trawangan was the perfect spot to stay. It’s a beautiful resort right on the white, sandy beach, about 400 metres from the town centre. The service from the team was awesome - really friendly and obliging. The gardens and pool area are lovely, and the a la carte breakfast was good, if a bit limited for choice. They serve good barista coffee ( a pleasant surprise). Rooms are pretty good, although beds were very hard for us.
The 2nd pool is in ruins. The property is not well maintained.
I had a disappointing stay at this resort, especially given the high price. Despite the large property, it lacked basic amenities, proper service, and courteous staff. They refused early check-in even with multiple rooms available and showed little care for guest experience. Key issues included non-functional flushes, no jet spray in washrooms (important for Indian guests), limited vegetarian options, no menu variety, and unreliable Wi-Fi. The management seemed incapable of handling the property efficiently. Overall, it was not worth the cost, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
We wrote to the hotel 9 month before going there, to ask for a good price. We would stay there for 12 nights. At that moment there were no prices on there webside or on Booking.com.
They wrote back and gave us a special price.
We said yes. As we didn’t know the normal price.
But when we arrived, we found out that our special price was higher than the normal price.
On their own webside and on Booking.com the price was now cheaper.
I tried to talk to the man Doni who gave us the special price. But he just said it was because of renovation of the hotel.
What a really bad argument.
So I’m sure we won’t come back to this place. There is so many other hotels that is very nice in Gili Trawangan.
Lovely place to stay
Beautifully presented and maintained property. The staff were all absolutely amazing and couldn't be more helpful.
The hotel is in a fantastic location.
