Honestly, Alps Hotel Osaka was an absolute hidden gem. We feel incredibly lucky to have found this hotel, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our stay in Osaka.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. The hotel has a charming late 90s and early 2000s luxury elegance that you rarely see anymore, giving it a unique character that feels both grand and nostalgic.
We booked a Deluxe Double Room, but when we opened the door, it felt more like walking into a presidential suite. The room was enormous by Japanese standards, with a separate living area, a huge television with a sound system, two refrigerators, a microwave, and even a massage chair—which we made full use of after long days of exploring Osaka on foot.
The bathroom was equally impressive. It featured a separate toilet, a spacious powder room, and a luxurious shower and jacuzzi room complete with its own television. We couldn't believe it! The powder room was stocked with thoughtful amenities, including both a hair dryer and a blow-dry brush, which left my hair looking better than it had the entire trip.
One of our favourite surprises was the view. From our room we could see the iconic Dotonbori area and the Don Quijote Ferris wheel, which looked especially beautiful when lit up at night.
The room was also incredibly well stocked with towels, robes, pyjamas, slippers, and plenty of amenities. After nearly two weeks of travelling around Japan, it was the perfect place to unwind before our flight home. The extra space allowed us to unpack our luggage, organise all our purchases, and simply relax in comfort and luxury.
As wonderful as the hotel was, the location was equally outstanding. As food lovers, we couldn't have asked for a better base. We were surrounded by fantastic local restaurants serving delicious and affordable food, all packed with Osaka's famous charm and atmosphere.
Yokoyama (staff member) was soooooo wonderful. She was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to help us with so many things including helping HUGELY with our luggage (we cannot thank you enough!!!), a welcome pack for our baby with toothbrush etc, a great cot set up in room, and sooooo many amenities!! Very spacious room too. Great location. Will definitely stay again!!!
Nothing :)

Incredibly friendly staff who made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. Room was large and had everything you need for your stay in Osaka. Perfect location as well!
We had a room on a high floor which had excellent views of the city without obstruction from other buildings. Wrap around windows and some could be opened.
The bed was large and comfortable.
The room was large with a good bathroom and separate toilet.
There was a fridge , kettle and safe.
Close to the shopping area
It was a little bit dated. Needs an remodel

The location was prime for access to multiple markets, Umeda, Dontomburi and Shinsaibashi. It was incredibly simple and easy via either nearby station to get on a train or subway to popular places like Osaka Castle and Nara Park. The hotel itself ? So nicely done and cleanly presented - it looked better than the photos to my partner and I. The staff were friendly, efficient, and most staff spoke above average English of many places we'd been. There was a lovely older woman on front desk with long beautiful black hair that took a liking to myself and partner who was a particular stand out to us - we didn't see her when we picked up our bags on the way out and were sorry to not be able to say goodbye so I hope this is passed on to her! My partner and I hope to stay with Hotel Alps again (in a year if our plans workout!). Would like to learn the lovely staff member's name for our return.
Another thing was the wardrobes in our deluxe queen - our only stay in Japan with a hanging closet and shelf closet - absolutely appreciated this which isn't common in Japan.
We also had a similar size room in Japan but these guys - in both our queen room and our 2nd reservation in a deluxe queen room - utilised the layout incredibly well so the rooms were, not just felt, absolutely massive. I promise you'll love their normal rooms which is the deluxe, minus wardrobes and massage chair. You can't go wrong :)
Nothing- kitchen and cleaning staff were so lovely too.
