I really wanted to love this place. Didn’t care for the location in a dirty alley. Our room was just OK. What they called a balcony was a joke. The people at the front desk were nice. The service in the bar was slow. Nothing was terrible, but nothing made me want to stay here again.
JK Place Rome is everything a great hotel should be: beautifully designed, perfectly located, and quietly run with real care. There’s an understated luxury to it — elegant and polished, but never showy. The beds alone are worth the stay.
What really sets it apart, though, is the service. The staff notice things and take care of them in a way that feels effortless and genuine. One small example: my wife’s Marvis toothpaste was nearly empty, and without us ever mentioning it, a fresh tube of the same brand appeared on the bathroom counter. It’s a tiny detail, but it says a lot. That same thoughtful attention runs through the entire experience.
Fantastic experience from the Bellman to the check in desk
The staff was exceptional.
They were attentive to all our needs and so pleasant
The accomodations were home!!
Lovely place and so comfortable.
Cant wait to go back
My husband and I stayed for 7 nights at this 'Leading Hotels of the World' member. All seemed lovely but after the first 3 nights all went downhill.
To put our review in context - we are seasoned luxury travelers. This is our 6th time visiting Rome. Previously stayed at the Dorchester and St. Regis Rome. We visit Rome for the art and cuisine. We are discerning diners and spend considerable time doing due diligence so that we don't dine in mediocre tourist traps.
Weeks before arrival the hotel send out a welcome letter with offer to make reservations. We decided to take them up on this. We sent links to 2 restaurants with specific dates and locations. One was a Sardinian fish restaurant on the outskirts of Rome, the other a popular Enoteca where we've been multiple times.
Hotel sent back confirmation with dates. We did not think to cross check this email against ours. Turns out Hotel had made correct bookings but transposed the dates on the email.
On Saturday (when we should have been at the fish restaurant) we showed up at the Enoteca - there was no reservation! Alarm bells should have gone off! Luckily the manager graciously gave us a table for 1 hour.
On Monday (when we should have been at the Enoteca), prior to jumping into a taxi to head out to the Fish restaurant, I checked my notes and shocks went down our spines - it is closed on Mondays!
Next day, we spoke at length with the Front Desk Manager who spoke fluent English. We repeatedly conveyed to her our dismay and stress. She repeatedly assured us that it was a genuine mistake (which we believed), and that she would look into it with the GM so that we do not leave with a bad taste in our mouths.
Apparently to placate us:
We were offered complimentary drinks at the bar. After sitting in the empty bar (around 9:30pm) for 15 minutes and no one showed up to take our order, we went upstairs to bed.
A scented candle with a note 'sorry that we did not live up to your expectations' had been delivered to our room???!!!
Do not insult someone who is paying over 1,000 Euros a night with a gift of a candle!
In addition, we are not rookie tourists in a hurry to sightsee. A hotel is a refuge where we relax and enjoy its offerings.
After the first 3 mornings, our breakfast experience went downhill. After repeated attempts of ordering a 'soft/runny' omelet, we gave up. My order of over easy eggs became a comedy. Our pastries looked like some anemic wonders. (We hear that the chef was siphoned off to their new aparthotel project).
We have to acknowledge that all the staff are cheerful and welcoming and enthusiastic. Housekeeping is excellent and the room is enormous with a magnificent bathroom.
Hotel is gorgeous.
What a shame! Lost to sloppiness and amateurish management.
Discrete cosy boutique hotel tucked away behind the Via Condotti. Superb service and rooms with delightful staff. This is a hotel that becomes your " home" , intimate and personal with the staff anticipating your every need.
Refreshing relief from the many other hotels around the area that have busy lobbies and reception areas. A real gem in Rome..... don't miss it!
We had an exceptional stay and could not be more pleased with every aspect of this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making check-in seamless and stress-free. The accommodations were immaculate, beautifully appointed, and extremely comfortable, with thoughtful details that made the stay feel both luxurious and relaxing.
The amenities were outstanding and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the property was calm, inviting, and elegant. Every interaction with staff members—whether at the front desk, housekeeping, or dining—was marked by friendliness, attentiveness, and a clear commitment to excellent service.
The location was ideal, providing both convenience and a sense of retreat, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking comfort, quality, and exceptional hospitality, and I look forward to returning in the future.
Today I enjoyed a site inspection at JK Roma, hosted by Anna and lovely hotel manager Maria. This LHW (Leading Hotels of the World) property captures the essence of Roman sophistication with 27 boutique rooms, including 2 suites across 11 room categories.
The intimate reception, stylish restaurant and bar, and thoughtful touches like an included minibar make it feel like a chic private home. The spaghetti al pomodoro was a highlight — simple, classic, and perfectly done.
JK Roma also offers a curated “Journal of 30 Days in Rome” for insider tips. This autumn, enjoy 5% off the BAR rateand a guaranteed complimentary upgrade.
Perfect in every aspect, location, staff, accommodation and food. The manager is authentic and is proud of his staff with good reason. Everyone we met was polite and genuinely helpful
Once again the hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate even the smallest request. It is almost rare to have to ask for anything - it seems as if the staff is attuned to each guest's personal needs and has provided solutions or suggestions before the fact.
The hotel itself is beautiful and elegant, spacious yet intimate. It feels like your own pied-a-terre in Rome. Close to the Spanish Steps as well as wonderful shopping and dining, I can easily spend a day nearby - and yet rejoice to return to J. K. Place for a cocktail in the library or lobby.
Thank you once again for making this girls' weekend so lovely. I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough for beauty, thoughtful touches and dedicated staff.
Great service. Food ok. Clean and well kept room.
We loved everything from check in to check out….it couldn’t have been any better. The best stay anywhere in a long time. Each staff member took the time to assist us in every way. The breakfast was top notch. I can’t find any fault. Will only stay at this hotel in the future!
Stayed at many five star hotels in Rome and JK Place is by far my favorite. I’ve never encountered friendlier and more genuinely thoughtful staff than at this hotel. The smaller, boutique size of the hotel provides the guests with such an intimate charm and you truly feel like you’re the only guest in the hotel. The amenities are also incredible and the rooms are very generously sized for Italian standards. The location is walking distance to most landmarks. Honestly cannot recommend enough. My only regret is that we stayed 1 night, but we will surely be only staying at this hotel in Rome from now on.
We got home yesterday after travelling around Italy for a while.
We are taking the time to review our favourite spots, not to forget them all and to recognise their value.
This hotel is in our hearts and always will be.
The staff were incredibly attentive and kind. We truly cannot mention them all by name because it would take forever.
The room was cleaned so well and the reception crew was always happy to satisfy every request we had!
Nothing was ever too much to handle.
Fabulous experience
Incredible staff
One of the best hotels I've ever had the opportunity to stay in. They were extremely welcoming and gracious towards my family and I which included an 11 month old baby. This hotel went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had all of the amenities. I didn't want to leave.
We had a chance to stay here during a recent stop-over in Rome. Our experience was absolutely perfect. The location is right in the heart of historical Rome- with an easy walk to the Vatican and the city’s main attractions. The level of service by the staff, was probably the best we have experienced in all of our global travels. From accommodating an early check-in, to restaurant recommendations and arranging transportation the front desk and concierge team were all excellent.
We enjoyed the small/boutique feel and would definitely stay in any of their other properties going forward.
It is easy to miss the glass doors walking down this quiet side street in Rome. But once you pass through them your breath is taken away by the exquisite decor that is warm, classy and inviting. A member of JK Place staff immediately greets you and welcomes you to sit down to enjoy a snack and refreshing drink. Plans are reviewed and arrangements made for whatever reservations or assistance you may need.
After being escorted to our room all our expectations were exceeded. Aside from the beautiful room , the amenities for the room were carefully thought of for the guest convenience.
A complementary stocked mini bar with a variety of refreshments, some snacks, even a travel adapter for foreign visitors. The lovely bathroom had a rain shower and heated towel rack.
We loved the breakfast menu full of a variety of choices and the chef surprise of pastries each morning.
After returning from a whole day of sightseeing it was such a delight to settle into the cozy lobby for a drink and bite to eat.
I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay in this centrally located boutique hotel. It will always be one of our fondest memories of Rome and look forward to return one day.
Rooms were very nice. Just outside of the busy traffic part of downtown but a walking distance from everything
The room was spectacular! The service from Front Desk to Manager to Bell Man was excellent, professional, friendly and informative and on top of everything!!
Attention to detail is unmatched . When you stay at J.K. it's like your staying a a friends home rather than a hotel . Everyone is so kind and professional! Room is spacious and Luxurious , and the bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on!!! Will definitely come again
