The worst was 3,5% extra for card payment and paid eater bottles. Big nono.

It was really clean and there was wonderful breakfast (exept terrible coffee) - all points i give to this hotel because the clean and breakfast.

Cons:

I booked this hotel because of its high ratings and the fact that it advertised 24-hour service. I expected friendly and welcoming staff.

When we arrived after a 36-hour journey, the gates were closed. I had to open them myself, walk along a narrow path into a dark courtyard, and knock on the door (there was no doorbell). The door was opened fairly quickly, but the owner appeared sleepy and unprepared.

I had indicated in advance that I needed parking for a car. Parking is technically available, but it is located on a road barely the width of a car. I had to reposition the car several times because he was not satisfied with how I parked. In the end, my side mirror was almost touching the wall.

Be careful when paying by credit card — they charge an additional 3.5% fee, which is not mentioned in the description. We arrived late at night and had no alternative, so we had to pay it.

We were “kindly” shown the bottled water in the room — for an extra charge at a rather steep price.

I also asked for a late check-out, but this was refused. In the morning, there was no sign of any cleaning staff anyway. This is a small house that does not really feel like a proper hotel.

The rooms are dark and not bright and airy as shown in the promotional photos.

I would not stay here again.

Huge disappointment, worst place we had stayed in a month in Sri Lanka.

Attitude on 1st day, demanded our cash, then left us waiting downstairs in a unwelcoming lobby, room not ready, no explanation. Paid for the "better" room with balcony, not pleasant, paid far too much as not worth £59 per night. Tiny cups, asked for some cold milk to use for tea, told to go to shop. Not a problem in any other place we stayed. 1st morning breakfast no question as to what type of food, so were given Sri Lankan and western so wasted food. Only fruit was banana! Better 2nd morning. Nowhere nice to eat, stuck at a table behind a desk looking out at a car and a wall, no restaurant as advertised. The whole place is a mess not a hotel! Never saw any other guests. Room next door to ours felt like the people were in the room with us! A very strange place and not sure how previous marks were given. Moved out after 2 nights to a very pleasant small beachfront hotel much cheaper so lost money!

Room for an overnight in Negombo
Pros:

This is more of a bed & breakfast as opposed to a hotel but nonetheless, a good location for one night after landing in CMB airport (it’s not too far). It’s two roads back from the beach and there are various restaurants nearby.

The room was simple, the bathroom somewhat dated but clean. The bed had a mosquito net, which was needed considering every time the door was opened, they would fly in. The room had a kettle and tiny cups. The owner was responsive via the message function on booking.com. Originally had asked them to organise a pick up from the airport but the price quoted was higher than others.

Cons:

Some observations:
- There is a lack of soundproofing, so noise from outside or above or next door easily heard
- The driveway is not wide enough for cars, only Tuk tuks or bikes.

Nettes Personal und super Frühstück. Es könnte erwas sauberer sein.

Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, vor allem die verschiedenen Früchte. Und das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Cons:

Die Sauberkeit ließ etwas zu wünschen übrig, vor allem im Bad.

A very nice welcome to Sri Lanka
Pros:

It's a simple but nice hotel, the first stop of our trip. The family that runs it is super friendly, welcoming and helpful! We got a fruit juice when we arrived and they also made a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning. They also helped with any problems/ questions we had. The rooms are clean and have good AC, a mosquito net and a fridge. The bathroom looked a little bit older, but the water was hot and the water pressure was good! The hotel is good value for your money.

Pros:

A localização é excelente, a proximidade ao comércio, praia e centro da cidade. As camas são confortáveis, lençóis e fronhas limpíssimos, quarto de tamanho bom e casa de banho com água quente. A ventoinha é silenciosa e há também opção de ar-condicionado. O pequeno almoço é muito bom e em doses enormes. Espaço sossegado, sem ruído da estrada, ou da vizinhança. A relação qualidade-preço é excelente, considerando a localização do hotel.

Cons:

Trata-se de um hotel familiar, afectado pela tempestade de 23 de Novembro de 2025. A família está a reabilitar o espaço, que neste momento tem muitos móveis por todo o lado, tornando o espaço menos agradável. Excesso de mobília no quarto; inexistência de um espaço exterior adequado quer para convívio, quer para usufruto dos pequenos almoços.

Ok pour une nuit, mais un peu déçu…

Proximité avec la plage et certains restaurants locaux.
Personnel très souriant et serviable, disponible au besoin.
Bonne ventilation et wifi ok.

Cons:

La propreté de la chambre et de la salle de bain, très peu conforme aux photos initiales…
Le filet anti-moustique au-dessus du lit était troué.
Dommage…
