Room fine, great views, not good value for money overall.Food just like a pub,had to order at barnot what I expect from a four star hotel Have been before, poor since it's now part of a group.
Great facilities and location
Location right on the bay beautiful views. Breakfast service was good and freshly cooked.
Restaurant facilities for dinner like being in a downmarket pub, having to order at the bar and pay as you ordered. Food menu poor pub food.
I wish I'd read the reviews before I booked here as part of a 9 day road trip. I checked in at 15:20 and having to wait at the bar until a member of staff was free should have rung alarm bells. £225 for 1 night B&B was expensive but I was expecting something special not the down at heel poor service we received. I'd booked at table in the restaurant for dinner which the website says in informal and relaxed. But I did not expect a Wetherspoons experience! Actually I've never visited a Wetherspoons but I hope it is better than the Midland. After chasing round trying to find a member of staff to tell me which was my table I was told choose you.food and order it at the bar! What this is a hotel restaurant not a cafe! The Gammon steak was passable - for a cafe. My scampi and chips was unacceptable I've had better from a fish and chip shop. 9 pieces of soggy battered scampi ? a handful of chip, a small portion of mushy peas I didnt get the option of garden peas. The tartare sauce went back to the kitchen it had been left under the heat lamp and had formed a thick skin and a very strange colour. I hate to think what breakfast is going to bring in the morning.
The decor very art nuevo and bedroom several quirky aspects. Evening meal exceptional
Excellent views over Morecambe Bay from dining area
Comfortable room temperature and throughout hotel
The toilet in room was quite close to top of bed with little discretion. Hot water for washing seemed to be regulated.
The bar steward was also receptionist and I had to wait while he served drinks before I was checked in.
Breakfast included was a much lower standard than dinner which was paid for desperately.
Great location and I was upgraded to a room with a balcony and a beach view. Lovely dining area and good breakfast.
Nothing
Great location, incredible views, free parking.
Everywhere is shabby for this price point. Lots of minor areas of tatty decor. Decking on the balcony was uneven, dangerous. Windows in the bedroom and restaurant look like they haven't been cleaned in months (lots of seagulls here). No proper shower in a suite. Latest check in and earliest check out I have ever seen in a hotel. Staff say "it's not a hotel, it's an inn", but it shows on the web site as 4*. No service in restaurant (go to the bar, oder and wait a long time). Breakfast barely 2*, not as good as entry level hotels. We paid almost £300 for 18 hours in a suite. View aside there was nothing worth that range.
Wonderful location on Morecambe Bay, superb sea views across to the Lake District. Historic art deco gem. Reasonably priced food and drink, lovely big room, comfy bed.
A tiny bit expensive and the day we arrived there was a party in a downstairs bar. Noise went right through the hotel. Fortunately noise stopped quite early. A late night do would be quite bad…
The staff were very accommodating and pleasant
We had to move rooms because of the noise in room 215, they moved us to room 205,
The breakfast looked lovely but I couldn't eat it after finding a large black hair in my poached egg, this obviously put myself and my husband off, we couldn't eat it, we were offered a drink but who wants a drink at 9.15 am, I feel the breakfast should of been taken off the bill but didn't want to make a fuss as there were people around and I wasn't comfortable doing that, this is a place I have wanted to stay for a long time.
Breakfast was fine.
Staff were friendly.
Had a miserable night - sink plug wouldn't open so had to use the bath instead, terrible screeching noise from outside kept me awake and many of the curtains were not properly secured at the top with consequences.
The duty manager said she would get back to me but one week on I've heard nothing.
The breakfast was excellent, good choices
Too many dogs, my partner has allergies and we were unaware of how many dogs there would be.
Outstanding location looking across the bay.
Quirky interior.
The loo was next to the top of the bed and separated by a partition.
Considering the price we were surprised by:
No coffee machine.
Nothing in the fridge.
No replenishment of biscuits.
Nothing for the dog despite the extra charge.
Room
Location was fantastic - 2nd floor with balcony overlooking the sea - Woww location location
Room was a good size with everything in it
My only gripe is - a bit tired and attention to detail with cleaning needs to be seriously looked at - the shower area had dirt in the areas of the shower which should have been cleaned if the cleaners just made a bit more attention to detail -
Apart from that really good stay and would definitely stay again
The Midland Hotel is an iconic establishment that truly lives up to its reputation. The staff were professional throughout our stay and very accommodating, including for example when parking our car a few hours before check-in and a few hours after check-out. The ambience throughout the hotel is fantastic. We enjoyed a wonderful sea-view room that was very well appointed.
Poached eggs; appears the hotel uses not very good quality eggs given the yokes were not very yellow at all. Simple fix !
the staff so genuine and the view of course and the amazing food
nothing
Fantastic location, beach front Morecambe, free and ample parking, great views.
Very slow service, price jump from 159 to 215 day before stay, shared balcony with the neighbours (weird...not the neighbours, but the lack of privacy), no atmosphere, staff lacking in friendliness because too busy, empty soulless lobby, reception at the bar like in a lesser quality hotel. The hotel is dated, but could be a lot better with a little effort. Don't pay more than £95 Inc breakfast or just go to the Best Western for under a £100. Sorry guys but poor service, old carpets and dirty windows is not good enough.
