I would stay there again when I need to next time
Pros:

It was a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were nice. When the communication appeared to be an issue, the manager came out and got the issue resolved quickly, to avoid a misunderstanding. To be fair, this is not a super-duper fancy facility, but it serves the purpose of a good-night sleep and great breakfast in the morning at a reasonable price. The room was clean and comfortable, so the value of money turned out to be quite high. As to the location: While this hotel is not in a highly touristy area, it is in fact situated in a residual area; in other words, you get to see the real facets of Shanghai, surrounded by the real local people (fast-walking office workers, slow-moving retirees, young and dynamic schoolkids and alike) and by real local shops (many wet markets, 24X7 convenient stores, a car dealership and, of course, numerous restaurants with all kinds of tastes at your choice just across the street.) When I wanted to go to some touristy areas, it was just a taxi ride away. The taxi is so inexpensive in Shanghai, compared to the service in other countries. (DiDi, the Chinese equivalent to Uber or Lyft, can be ever cheaper; of course, the bus or Metro is dirt-cheap there.) Therefore, the location is not an issue at all. Overall, I liked this hotel and would stay there again when I need to next time.
