A wonderful location and about 4.3km to the main town of Cochem. The hosts were great, the room was comfortable and clean. The evening meal was superb. In all a very nice stay, thank you
I’m so lost for words. Yasmin and his team felt us at home, away from home. From the lovely rooms, to the sunny terrace where drinks and food was enjoyed, to the close proximity of the Mosel river and the beautiful sights of the wine ranks. I love this place and recommend everyone to stay here! 😍😍😍
You mentioned it on tripadvisir as a hotel with quiet rooms, even made soundproof. Yes, they made effort trying to keep the noise of the road away. But you can stil hear it , other quest showers, talking, laughing in bed (among other noices). Solid roomlocks you hear being slammed. Televisions etc. So please reconsider it. Because of you we stayed here. For the rest, friendly staff.
We wanted a short break in the Mosel area to get to know the wines and this hotel seemed perfectly located. Cochem just up the road is quite a large town but the hotel is on the edge of a small village which is mostly made up of wine businesses.
The hotel is large and modern. The staff were all very friendly and our room nicely decorated and well equipped. It had beautiful views over the Mosel river but a slight downside was some traffic noise in the morning. Rooms on the other side have a lovely view over the vineyards.
The restaurant has a fixed menu each night with a choice of 3 main courses, one of which seems to be vegetarian. The first night the food was decent but nothing special, but the second night it was really excellent, with a very good carrot and ginger soup to start, then a delicious venison stew or a well-cooked steak in Gorgonzola sauce. There’s a large wine list of course, including the hotel’s own label. Breakfast is standard for German hotels: plenty of cheese, ham, yoghurt, etc.
We rented bikes from the village of Ernst and cycled along the river. Just be aware that many businesses including cafes and restaurants are closed between November and April except in larger towns.
All in all a nice place to stay.
Very comfortable and good maintained hotel.
Easy reachable, own paking place (they even have chargers for the e-cars!).
Good size rooms with beautiful views.
Very polite staff and attent owner.
Distillery tours available.
Restaurant could use a more imaginative menu.
Underdeveloped internet infrastructure in the area and this hotel suffers with the rest (although it can aslo be seen as a repreive from the plage of electronic / digital devices...)
My partner and I stayed in Filla Andre for 4 nights. The hotel is situated on the banks of the Mosel with fantastic views. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The food was delicious albeit a very limited menu. Wines are amazing. Although we can speak very basic German, only 2 members of staff helped us out when we were struggling!!!! Also the only place the WIFI worked was in the breakfast room. However, we would recommend this hotel for touring this lovely wine district.
Very nice family hotel. Very nice rooms and a fantastic loaction 40 mtrs from Mosel with view from balcony. Breakfast and dinner was very good, and the atmosphere in general was very good. Lot of parking places and nice little city.
Eten, bediening, netheid ..... zeer goed.
It's not only the beautiful area of the Mosel, beautiful hotel and amazing room with a whirlpool that keeps me thinking again and again on this amazing weekend! It's the people - very firendly, helpful and always there for you! Add vine and great food (in the hotel restaurant) and you've got your perfect hotel. Totally recomend it!
Das Zimmer "Etiketten" ist den Aufpreis absolut wert.
Just returned on 11/3 from 11 days in Germany with 3 nights at the Filla Andre in Ernst. Ernst is about 2.5 miles south of Cochem and is a great hotel and restaurant. I would highly recommend to anyone as an alternative to Cochem, especially if one is driving. The hotels in Cochem are very nice also but if you have a car, parking can be a problem. The town is just not laid out with convenient parking and in many cases you just have to park and walk to get to your hotel.
As a member of Small Leading Hotels of the World we knew this place would be special and indeed it was. From the eccentric proprietor and the chef who came out to make sure the kids were happy to their food, to the beautiful riverside location and impeccably renovated and updated spaces....we were not disappointed. The highlight was dinner al fresco overlooking the river with a three course spectacular meal....choosing between roast pork and spaetzle, entrecôte with potato cakes and cabbage, and a vegetarian option.....and starting with a carrot ginger mint soup that was unusually good, and finishing with fresh strawberries, cream and homemade vanilla ice cream. An incredibly good value all around.
