Clean, comfortable and affordable!
Pros:

I stayed in the female dorm and you got your own little space with a curtain for privacy. Everything newly renovated. Bathrooms was so clean and new. Couldn’t believe the cleanliness and quality for the price.

Cons:

Nothing. Central, easy walkable distance from a lot of things. Close to buses. A lot of restaurants nearby. Staff friendly and helpful.

6 bed female dorm
Pros:

I stayed in the 6 bed female dorm for 4 nights.. great set-up.. cool & dark.. amazingly comfortable beds.. felt like I was sleeping in a cocoon.. will definitely recommend.. 10/10

Cons:

Initially it seemed on the expensive side for a bed in a dorm.. but these dorms are far superior to any other dorms in Darwin CBD.. 10/10

A great location with wonderful staff
Pros:

We really loved staying at the Cav. It’s great for the price and the internal rooms are super comfortable, with a huge fridge and TV. The best thing about this place was the staff (both hotel and pub). A special shout to Joy-Joy, Cara and the reception team, who helped us massively when we had a mini crisis. They solved our problem and we had lots of laughs together. Thank you so much! ☺️

Excellent Stay at the Cav
Pros:

We had a wonderful time at the cavanagh hotel, stayed for 13 nights, the room was good, the a king-sized bed was amazing, not a lot of storage space but we made do. Full sized fridge which was useful.
The pool area was great nice sun lounges and daybeds.
The pub itself is very lively with music in the front bar every night which we loved.
The location is in walking distance to all that you would want. The meals we had were all amazing as well, kudos to the kitchen staff and chefs.
Jojo on reception is a delight, friendly and helpful.
Special mention to Gail one of the managers who greeted us and checked us in smoothly on our late arrival, she is awesome and was always touching base with us to make sure we were having a good time, we can't wait to visit again.
All the staff from housekeeping to bar staff to security were fantastic 👏
Highly recommend The Cav 😊🥰🍸🥂

Would surely come back!
Pros:

So pleasantly surprises! The staff was sweet. Joy-Joy is funny and very helpfull, but so are the other staff members. The room was very clean, cozy and the bed was great! No smelly pillows ;) Pool area very nice.

Cons:

Australians are not that good at building ‘gezellige’ hotels. They love fences and gates. Neither is The Cav.

Pros:

A comfortable bed in a clean motel with a great vibe and chill pool perfectly located at a decent price. Bonus is that the restaurant has one of the top steaks I’ve eaten in the past five years. The mix of rooms and dorm plus the live music means a variety of folks there to enjoy themselves.

Cons:

I would have liked a place to hang up my swim suit and pool towel.
