The stylish and quirky up-cycled furniture in the room made it feel unique.
The breakfast had been touted as excellent. It was not: three cereals in containers on the side, long-life fruit juice, instant tea and coffee, prepackaged croissants and muffins. Tables not laid – you had to find your own tableware in a cupboard.
For shampoo, there was a bottle of supermarket own-brand in the corner of the floor of the shower.
I couldn't get the TV to work, but that didn't bother me.
The beds were comfortable, and the room itself was clean. There was parking at the back, though it was extra and the staff member gave poor directions about finding it
The first impression of the place was awful. The floor had clearly not been hoovered in months and the office was a pigsty. Clearly the front desk person sleeps there behind a screen, and there were various things, blankets, toilet roll, a tangle of wires, strewn about the place. The stair carpet was covered in bit of rubbish. There was a picture just sitting on the floor, and a pile of cleaning supplies outside our room. The staff member seemed pretty clueless. The hot water in the shower didn’t seem adjustable and was too scalding to use. This place was shockingly poorly kept. It felt like a place that had had real ambitions and then given up.
Good parking £10 per day compared to £16.50 in town. 15 mins walk from market street and most items of interest. Clean bathroom, clean room but needs renovating. Gluten free cereal and bread was available

No milk for cereal at Breakfast. Tea urn cold and unplugged. had to plug in toaster myself. Nothing was fresh as tea urn was practically empty so water had not been changed. Bin had empty tea bag wrappers which, based on cold tea urn meant bin had not been emptied. Same for cereal dispensers, they remained unchanged over the 2 mornings we were there.
No staff around to ask at 9am even though breakfast was 8 to 10.
Complained to evening staff but ignored
Wasn't made clear that gate auto opens when you leave carpark..sign would help.

The location was great.rooms were decorated nicely. We were on the front of the hotel and thought the noise from the main road maybe an issue but it was very quiet.
On arrival we had no toilet roll,but the staff brought some to our room once we asked for some.
No shower gel,shampoo in the bathroom( luckily I packed some for our stay).
We were a little confused when leaving as noticed a sign for a breakfast room but on booking it didnt state breakfast was provided.
Also when I booked the hotel I rang with a question and the phone number on google went through to the old owner so this may need looking at.
The location was great. Just a 10 minute walk into the centre. The Paris room had lovely decor and was very clean and comfortable.

Room (Paris) spacious enough and clean. Breakfast didn't look up to much. Neighbourhood looked a bit 'downbeat'. On arrival had to knock on door to gain admittance and just given a room key by a scruffy man who spoke poor English. Did not see any other staff about the place during 2 night stay.

This hotel was like something in the twilight zone. There was so much wrong I don’t know where to begin. The first room was very crowded with 3 little single beds. We had asked for King size. The towels were VERY old beach towels. There was no soap, shampoo not crème rinse in the shower. I could not grip the shower handles to turn the water off. There were lamps but no sockets to plug them in. The breakfast sometimes had plates and cutlery but sometimes didn’t. The second room we were changed to only had hot water in the taps. The staff ( one person, tried hard but did not speak English and could not help us. The hotel guest book was filled with of bad reviews. The hotel had trip advisor and Bookings awards but the last one was in 2020. They must have changed ownership somewhere along the way. There were no top sheets. Just awful old duvet covers. Old bullies. Tiny bed tables a horrible sofa bed in our second room that slanted down on one side. No outlet in the bathroom.

The ensuite in the bedroom was ok, Secure car park with electric barrier gate
On arrival front door locked, rang the bell no answer, rang the phone number no answer. eventually a man opened the door spoke very poor English eventually telling us the room had not been cleaned and we must wait 20 minuets. when we eventually entered the room it was very small, just room for a double bed and a tiny wardrobe. the bed was clearly not changed from the previous guests. Canceled breakfast, walked to Wetherspoons 5 mins away. Only stayed one night in this awful guest house.

Bedding. Whilst in keeping with the quirky room decor I think crisp white sheet would be marvellous.
Luxurious bedroom and bathroom
Bed was a little hard for our taste but slept well
They upgraded us to a room with a spacious lounge and a large bath. We were given a 50% discount off the parking to compensate for the fact that there was no cooked breakfast available for us. I liked the proximity to the city centre too.
Our room was not cleaned once in the duration of our week-long stay. I don't mind the fact that there was not a full clean, but I would have appreciated the cups being changed, the towels replaced, and the bins being emptied as a bare minimum. There was no grip mat in the shower or bathmat outside, which was a slip hazard. Staff were often hard to find when you needed them.
