The Hotel is clean, delicious food and friendly staff
Generally, the hotel is acceptable. It’s near Simba center, which is a big supermarket a small shopping center. The hotel reception staff are helpful. They have also good security and location is in a good Neighbourhood. The only most disadvantage is the restaurant the cooking is not good. I had l three meals in the hotel restaurant ( fish and steak) really very bad cooking and the meat is very unfresh and the meat is very hard to extend is difficult to cut it
on top of that you have to wait for long time at least 45 minutes to receive the order
Breakfast is acceptable, but they serve completely unfresh bread. I believe the bread they serve for breakfast. It was form a few days I had to buy a fresh bread from Simba Centre supermarket for the next day breakfast
Icomplained with other customer BUT there is very negative response from the staff at the restaurant. They are very, very passive.
Easy access
I was sent to the Great Seasons by Rwandair after my flight was cancelled. They comped me the room and gave me a lunch voucher (which I didn’t use) and a dinner voucher, I found the hotel to be drab and dingy and the bathrooms are old and outdated. There was an odd smell in the building. My room had an ac remote that didn’t work (had to stand on a chair to turn it on but could not adjust temp or mode), a shower that you had to step high hip into the tub with no grab bar to assist so it was difficult for someone my age. Bit mostly it was the lack of customer service- the food was awful so I barely ate - I asked to see a dessert menu and she said they only had ice cream but I’d have to pay for it because it wasn’t covered in the voucher! Then I asked at the Front desk for a bottle of water and she said they only give one per room but I could buy it at the bar! She finally relented and gave me another bottle. I know the room was comped so I didnt expect much but this was pretty bad. I do not recommend and wrote to Rwandair to tell them about it.
Planned on spending 2 nights but left after first. Ad copy boasts that it’s adjacent to a quiet suburban neighborhood.
Yes, that’s true. But it’s outside that peaceful neighborhood, situated at the intersection of two extremely busy roads. So there’s no quiet side.
Making matters worse, windows are aluminum clad without seals. It's hard to tell if a window is actually closed since noise difference is negligible. I changed first room because one of the windows simply wouldn't close at all.
Broken towel racks, water not draining in shower pan, worn out corridor carpets, tv didn’t work even without remote(plug would not stay in socket) remote for A/C non-functional.
Clearly, no one is doing any routine checking or maintenance. Finally, in the restaurant, the tv is located such that the kitchen personnel stare at football rather than concentrated on preparations. The waitress has very nice, though.
Front desk Alex was very friendly but he told me he’s send up someone to check the TV. Never did. When I went down to check, he’d already left his shift.
But, pool is OK and the floor and stair marblework is very nice. If that’s what you came, for you’ll be delighted.
In December, 2022; I was visiting Rwanda for the 5th time, and decided to stay at Great Seasons where I had stayed during one of my previous visits in 2017.
It was interesting to know that an intern from my 2027 visit was now a manager, and recognised me. This made my booking easier.
Overall, this didn't have any direct impact with my experience, as the staff were as professional as in 2017. The quality of service had not dropped either.
Only dent on my experience was when I ordered for drinks from the bar, and they came with a bill quite different from what was on the menu, and expected me to accept the difference just like that.
This is an older hotel in a very nice neighborhood. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.
We really appreciated the shuttle ride to the hotel from the airport. Employees were all friendly and helpful. They were somewhat confused with the hotels.com reservation but let us stay anyway.
Good for short stay, good breakfast
I was travelling to Zimbabwe and decided to drop in Kigali to visit the city and nearby attractions. I must say I had a great experience at Great Seasons Hotel. The airport pick up and drop off shuttle was perfect, always on time. The room was neat and well maintained and I enjoyed the massage and sauna services. Food was great, especially breakfast. I enjoyed the special African tea which they prepare very well. The hotel is located in the serene and affluent Gacuriro suburb, ensuring that guests enjoy a peaceful and restful environment. I will definitely come back.
Nice place for a nights stay. Comfortable bed, good breakfast with lots to choose from.
Lovely, friendly staff. Clean, good sized rooms, I've stayed here many times, their sauna and pool areas are clean and well maintained, not to mention lovely & their staff are all very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and even have bathtubs and tea/ coffee facilities in the rooms! I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
Great place, amazing service
Had a one week trip to Kigali, Rwanda with colleagues and lodged at Great Seasons Hotel, Kigali. Lovely hotel, quiet spot to reminisce on a lot. A swimming pool, poolside bar, Sauna and functional kitchen among others. Lolzzz. I mean the kitchen gets you what you need at anytime. Always enjoyed my sitout at the poolside. Lots to eat and drink. Environment was clean. Rooms were well taken care of, but they could do better. Although, not in the city center, its a good spot to stay but traffic could be a problem at rush hour. Not too far from the airport. The staff were receptive and friendly. Overall, it was a lovely stay at Great Seasons Hotel. Could be back there though. Lolzzz.
While traveling back to Rwanda,I booked at Great Seasons Hotel, they give me the confirmation in just few minutes while we arrive at the airport we find a smart guy with our names we say wouuu,he drove us at the Hotel it was midnight ,we ordered some food, in few time they served Rwandan dished delicious, we have been well accommodate in nice room with enough amenities.
Definitely we will come again, Keep on guys
Excellent service
The rooms well clean, amazing staff, I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. They were extremely accommodating. I had a wonderful experience at Great Seasons Hotel, I highly recommend this hotel for everyone visiting Kigali.
Spent 4 days here. A well run hotel, friendly staff and good food. The rooms are clean and simple. Let’s just say they get all the basics right. However one thing that can be improved is the WiFi signal strength around the rooms especially. Please find a way to boost your signal.
I ordered dinner with 3 friends I can’t contain my self not to say that service was remarkably horrible. At some point I engaged with the service manage hoping for change but was all wasted efforts. You could easily note the service sloppiness and sad fact is that staff didn’t even seem to be bothered. Business as usual. Shameful!
Comfortable hotel with very nice Sauna, exceptionally friendly staff. Quiet location and nice restaurant by the pool. Great place that makes a business trip feel like a small vacation. Warm recommendation for a peaceful stay up the hills, with a beautiful view over Kigali.
I stayed at Great Seasons for five nights as I had work nearby. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The breakfast host remembered my omelette preference after the first day and just put the order in, and did so for the other four members of my group as well. They seemed genuinely eager to take good care of us.
The hotel is not luxurious; it is a mid-level hotel. A great strength was cleanliness - my room was very clean on arrival and that level was maintained throughout the stay. The public areas also were kept nice and clean.
There were some things that were a bit disappointing like threadbare linens (towels with fraying edges, holes in the sheets), my room safe that was locked when I arrived and never opened even though I requested that they do so, and the fact that the shower drained slowly so I was always in ankle-deep water when I finished my shower.
However, there were also good things - like a small water leak in the bathroom that was repaired promptly as soon as I notified them of it. They replenished water in the room daily. There is a hot water pot in the room with coffee, tea and sugar - but note, no creamer if you like cream in your coffee or tea.
The internet, which was free, worked well for me and for most of my colleagues. One person on our team of five said he could do basic email but not attachments. This may be due to room location; I noted that there was a wireless access point very near my room.
Rooms have a small balcony; some of the rooms have a chair or table on the balcony. At night, you will need to sleep with the AC running because, though it cools off at night, if you leave the door to the balcony open, the bugs will come in & that won't be good. (This is a location with malaria.) I found that, even with my AC set at the lowest setting, I could not get the room cooler than 72 F/22C, which was a little warmer than I like.
One last point on which to comment is the electricity. On the plus side, they have both the round shape/European outlets, as well as a shape that will take the flat plugs from the US (but you still need a transformer to 220 unless it's a device that runs 110-240, such as most computers). To the negative, though, I still had trouble getting things to plug in, as if the outlets were not set properly. I even had trouble plugging in the hairdryer supplied with the room on 2 of the 5 mornings (it just wouldn't go in).
I had previously been to this same area and prefer the other Kigali hotel I have reviewed, but Great Seasons was more convenient for my work this time. It was fine - especially because of the cleanliness and helpful staff. These items I mention were annoyances. If you are the kind of traveler who can deal with this level of inconvenience/ annoyance, and the price works, then this hotel is a fine choice.
one of good hotel in Kigali, camfortable dashing room and affordable price, nice view and quiet place not far from there to Kigali genocide Memorial, friendly staff and helpful, good restaurant and served well the breakfast
