Great Location
Pros:

It's small but acceptable. The room is smaller than expected but the location is really good. It's just outside of the main train station, and you can dorp bags then go around to enjoy the city!

Great Location, Solid Rooms, One Bad Hospitality Miss
Pros:

Second stay here.

The location works, especially if you have bags.
Steps from the main station.
Easy walk to the city center.
Public transport sits right outside.

Rooms are large by European standards.
Bed is comfortable.
Water pressure is strong.
Courtyard view was completely quiet.

Everything about the room met expectations.

The only problem was breakfast.

Breakfast is basic European fare.
Not worth the 20 euro price tag.

As a Titanium member, I selected breakfast for the stay.
I was told it covered two adults and kids eat free.
No issues the first two mornings.

On the third morning, the breakfast attendant stopped my daughters.
She said breakfast was not included and demanded payment.
I explained it was included and had been for two days.
She said it only worked because she had extra help those days - not sure what that meant.

At the front desk, before I could explain, she interrupted in German and insisted I pay.
The front desk agent checked the reservation and confirmed breakfast was included.
She continued to argue after being corrected.

That interaction ended the stay on a bad note.
It was unnecessary and unprofessional.
That employee should not be in a guest-facing role.

I would stay at Aloft Munich again for the location and rooms.
The breakfast experience needs attention.

City centre Hotel
Pros:

Aloft Munich offers an excellent central location and a smooth, welcoming check-in experience. The rooms are spacious and well-laid-out, providing good comfort for a city stay. However, the property could benefit from some refurbishment, particularly the carpets and curtains, to better reflect the usual Marriott standard. Overall, a pleasant and convenient stay with room for a touch of refr

Disappointed Stay During Oktoberfest – Wouldn’t Return
Pros:

We stayed at this hotel during Oktoberfest and unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations—especially for the high price. While we understand that some issues were out of the hotel's control, like the very loud early-morning construction outside our room, there were several problems that definitely were within their control.

Given that this is a Marriott property, we expected a certain level of quality and service, which just wasn’t there. The location was convenient for Oktoberfest, but walking around the area at night didn’t feel very safe.

Our room had some positives—the beds were comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, and there was adequate vanity space. However, the air conditioning was inconsistent, and both my fiancé and I became quite ill during our stay. After returning home, we were both diagnosed with a fungal infection, which our doctor suggested could be due to mold exposure—something we suspect may have come from the room.

Housekeeping and front desk service were especially disappointing. Despite having a “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door and specifically requesting no housekeeping (due to prior experiences with theft at other hotels), staff entered the room anyway. Towels were always an issue—extra ones we requested were removed daily, and we constantly had to ask for more. Basic items like toilet paper and tissues weren’t replenished without prompting.

Overall, the cost of the stay was outrageous given the quality of the experience. I really wish we had spent the money elsewhere. We won’t be returning to this hotel in the future.

Save your money and go to a better area.
Pros:

Not a bad hotel. Breakfast was pretty good. Staff was in a hurry. Parking garage was sort of hard to find. Shower leaks water all over the place. Bad design and need a bigger door. Did not like the neighborhood at all.

The only redeeming thing about this hotel is really the location - central.
Pros:

We arrived after a Danube River cruise and booked this hotel for 3 nights. I am a Titanium Marriott Bonvoy member and used points and 3 upgrade nights awards that were about to expire. I have stayed at Aloft hotels before, and knew what to expect from this lower end of the Marriott chain.

We checked in early and were told that our upgraded room was not ready but we could downgrade to a room ready now. We stayed we wanted to maintain the upgrade and wait. We were told we would not be informed when the room was ready but we could check. Meantime I was waiting for a package delivery for an important business mtg the next night. We returned to check in and were told we had been downgraded to a regular room. I objected, and they somehow “found” then suite upgraded room. I asked them to inform me when my package arrived.

The junior suite was quite ordinary and had they not been about to expire, it would have been a waste of the UNA awards. Larger room, but nothing special and sitting area had an uncomfortable sofa bed and chairs. Larger shower was fine except zero shelving so any of your own toiletries would have to be placed on the shower floor - dumb design.

My business package arrived with no notice given to me - I was miffed, but fine. As my meeting was virtual, I had to give an alternative phone number for contact and discovered the phone did not work. I reported it three times and no action was taken by the front desk staff. Then, After a frustrating 5 minutes at the lobby computer I was informed by the front desk that it was not working - why they didn’t put a sign on it or just turn it off I will never know.

The breakfast was also very ordinary.

So, room was “meh,” upgrade was useless, food was less than average and front desk staff were unresponsive and sub-standard especially by Marriott’s standards.

As you can see by my other reviews I am quick to praise and loath to complain, but this was a sub-standard stay by all accounts.

I do not recommend staying here.

A western hotel in Germany!
Pros:

I was in need of a solid American hotel in Munich after the "local" one I chose was roughly the size of a large closet (which it didn't have one of - or of any size) with A/C that was a bit sketchy, I chose the Aloft, mostly because of it's proximity to Munich Central Station as I was heading to Dachau the next day and wanted an easy transport option.

The area, if you go a few blocks away. is a *little* bit sketchy, but not more so than other large cities I have stayed in.

The bed was incredibly comfortable!

The A/C will run you out for a parka.

The shower pressure was amazing.

It's a solid choice!
